Excellent location near harbor; very spacious suite with separate living room bedroom kitchen; wide range of hotel services: pool, rec/game room, laundry machines (extra charge); restaurant

No effective AC: no room heating or cooling except asking for small space heater or using plastic room fans; kitchen supplies were limited; seats in different chairs & sofa quite soft; rooms a bit dim; shuttle van available but not announced anywhere; parking available but for a daily fee (waived for us), overall hotel felt from a prior decade or two and in need of renovation modernization.

What a lovely, quiet property, and the location was so convenient to exploring on foot or by car. We were upgraded to a suite with kitchen, dining, and seating areas: spacious and very comfortable. There is no A/C in this building, but they supplied us with fans, and would have brought more if we had requested them. The laundry in the lowest level was inexpensive and convenient. They also have a billiard room AND a separate game/hang out room with games, puzzles, DVDS, etc. in the coolest lower level. (We were there in the summer.) This hotel is on a quiet tree-lined street that quickly becomes a residential neighborhood, so it felt less urban even though we were less than a block from BC’s Parliament building and a short walk to the inner harbor and the very cool Royal BC Museum. Free parking also a big plus.

The pool area is so small it is very, very loud. The ONLY other thing was the lack of A/C in August. PLEASE don’t let this keep you from this lovely hotel, especially in any other month.

Excellent location close to all amenities Wonderful to be in walking distance to the harbour, museum and restaurants! Rooms were spotless and the cleaning staff were so accommodating when we were not ready to have our room cleaned they graciously said with a smile no problem we’ll come back later Always came back to a beautiful clean room!

I loved the location of the hotel, half a block to the parliament buildings and a block from the harbour! The ambiance of the hotel is lovely. I stayed here about 40 years ago with fond memories. Coming back felt like going to visit my grandma’s in the most welcoming and comfortable way. My suite was immaculate and thoughtful decorated with little touches like the books placed on the shelves of the night tables and end tables. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

Can’t think of anything I didn’t like.

Every thing was excellent, this was the single most gracious stay I’ve had in any property. Grounds, amenities and staff were top notch. We checked in early and were upgraded but the real impact was being allowed to extend our check out time, the day of checkout we got very disturbing news and had we not had the privacy of our room my wife and would of had to deal with it publicly, we were both very emotional and upset. I will only ever have good things to say our stay and we will be back as often as we can.

Can’t think of anything except maybe AC but fans are in the rooms. Our room was never uncomfortable due to temperature and cooled off very well at night with the windows open.

This is the second time that I have stayed at the Royal Scot. It was as good as last time, which is why we came back. The location could not be better for the Victoria Harbour. Everything is within walking distance. I love that you can get a whole apartment complete with a real kitchen and separate bedroom. The prices are very reasonable. The staff are super friendly. Great pool. Will go back again.

The cardio / fitness centre is pretty small but this is a very small issue.

We were very fortunate to be upgraded to a suite which was huge but noticing other rooms as we passed they too seemed a really good size The location was excellent. So close to the parliament building which by the way was an excellent place to have a very good breakfast

No restaurant or bar. They are apparently opening one next month It would have been nice to relax in a bar with a drink in the evening

Excellent location, close to many touristic attractions and to restaurants (e.g., just across the street there are 2 good restaurants), close to the harbor and 10 min walk from the final stop of BCferries final stop (ferry+bus), namely Victoria bus depot, to-from Vancouver. Friendly staff, very good value for money. Good wifi, coffee machine, free cookies and fridge in the room.

No basic breakfast (self service), had to order at restaurant, limited breakfast menu. Did not try, so cannot say whether it was good or bad.

Friendly staff. Lots of nice rooms in basement for entertainment- game room, pool table, pool. Pool a great temperature. Location was great- quiet street.

One window in bedroom would not close completely, and it would be nice if the TV had more channels/netflix sign-on ability. Nothing for my kid to watch in evenings. DVDs in game room were a nice touch, but there was literally nothing for kids. Also would be cool if there was an attempt at providing a breakfast snack or something.
