They very graciously allowed us to store our luggage in their secured storage space before check-in. Clean and comfy. The property gardens and patio are lovely. The staff were friendly and eager to assist. Great location!

Our room was streetside, so it was a little noisier in the morning, but nothing serious.

The Helm’s Inn is a wonderful old, quaint (but beautifully modernized) hotel in the heart of downtown Victoria. The accommodation was incredibly spacious with two rooms and a small kitchenette at the end of the living room. Staff were welcoming and helpful, the facility was very clean, and all the Victoria sights were within easy walking distance. A perfect spot to stay!

Nothing not to like, but continued updating remains important. The parking was tight, but manageable (and wonderful to have in the centre of the city), and if all spots were used, staff was able to suggest an alternative arrangement.

the location of this hotel was great! It is located in the heart of the downtown area and great for walking everywhere. The Inn it self is located across the street from the park & the government center. Could NOT ask for a better hotel

The location is great - about a 5 minute walk from the Empress. Our room was clean and comfortable and even had a kitchen (I believe all their rooms have kitchens). This inn has 3 older fully remodeled buildings all next to each other. We had 3 rooms for everyone in our group and they were all fantastic. The kitchens were complete with a stove top and full size refrigerator - smaller end of full size but not a mini-fridge. Two of our rooms had ovens. They did a great job with the remodel; the rooms were very quiet and the windows were thick and double-paned. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Staff was also super kind and helpful.

Very good value for money. The room was extremely spacious with a generously sized kitchenette. The murphy bed was a huge bonus (only available in King suites, I believe). Excellent location - an easy walk to downtown restaurants, beautiful James Bay, and right at the corner of Beacon Hill Park. Free on-site parking is very convenient. Shower was nice and hot with good water pressure. Friendly staff.

The bathroom was not very large and the furnishings are basic, but the location and the spaciousness made for a very enjoyable stay. The parking lot can get very crowded with some awkwardly positioned stalls, but it's much better than finding street parking or paying at a surface lot.

The rooms were larger than expected. We enjoyed the small kitchen area with table. Ample closet space. Comfortable beds. Our kids' double room had a larger bathroom which was helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.

The parking was tricky. We had 2 rooms but only 1 vehicle and we still had trouble finding a spot most days. Our king room had a very tight bathroom. We got used to it but there's no space to store anything in there. There could be more complimentary items in the front desk area (more tea options, packets of hot chocolate, real milk/cream for tea/coffee). The vending machines were handy but getting a hot drink in the evening would be nice.

Great location 15-20 minute walk to Wharf or Chinatown. Excellent complimentary coffee and tea in lobby. Nice bedding with soft sheets, good selection of pillows, comfortable mattress especially for people with back issues. Nice kitchenette. There is a ramp from parking area to upper floors for ease of rolling bags. Grocery store 10-15 minute walk. Nice park across the street. 6 minute drive to Black Ball Ferry Terminal. Extra comfortable leather club chairs. Good wifi. Gelato and ice cream shops nearby. Stayed there twice. Will stay again if we return.

Bathroom could have been larger but it was very functional and had a great shower with tub combination.

The location of the property is very good; it is close enough to all things without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The room was lovely and comfortable. There was a mini kitchen and it was fully stocked with dishes and microwave and coffee machine. The bed was really comfortable, as was the fold-out couch. I slept on both. The decor is wonderful and there is restricted access for safety. The staff were really nice and quick with check-in. They were just as nice with check-out. We were able to check in two hours early, as our room was ready. I will definitely stay at Helm's Inn again!

Helms Inn is located behind the BC Museum on a tree lined street. The area is quiet but close to the primary streets. It has three separated buildings that make up the hotel. There is plenty of parking (we didn't drive there). The room was modern, clean and had everything one might need. There was a kitchen well stocked with cooking items and appliances. The room wasn't huge, but it was cozy. We plan on staying there every time we travel to Victoria. Just for perspective, the Hotel Grand Pacific used to be our go to hotel in Victoria.

The only thing that could have made our stay better would be if the room was free.

I’ve stayed once with my husband before and I liked the location, although it was little noisy during the summer time but understandable(I’m from a quiet town). So I chose this place again to spend a night alone before the important exam and it was very quiet, well organized, clean room(better than last time) and great location for everything. Very nice staffs as well. I had a good sleep and then next morning wrote an exam then I passed it with a good result. Thanks! Plus, I asked for extra hours parking after check out and they said no problem at all with no extra fee. Great service.
