Breakfast was lovely, eggs, bacon, croisant, orange slices - perfect Room- elegant and so comfortable. Bed was exactly what we like. Firm but so comfortable. There is no phone or TV which made it even BETTER!! It was like stepping into Downton Abby!

Just an observation. It would be better if the person giving the orientation would talk a little slower and take a little more time. There were 4 of us on the mini tour and not all of us were able to catch the blurb before she was on to another aspect. Some of the areas IE hallway and service area were too small for us to all fit in so some info was missed. She was very plesant and information - just too fast.

The house is wonderfully decorated. Warm and welcoming. We were happily on the top floor but be aware that if your bags are big and heavy the stair case in narrow and windy. Breakfast of croissants and eggs very good. I recommend leaving out the chips/fries. Coffee good and plentiful. Good assortment of juice and jams.

Ran out of hot water so I had a chilly shower in the late afternoon. Checkin begins at 3pm however staff member did not greet us until about 3:30. In her defence there was a note just inside the entrance asking that we ring the bell if we needed assistance and no-one was around. Neither we nor the other couple saw the sign. Eventually one of us proceeded to walk about til we found her.

Elegant, tranquil, and welcoming, this charming home epitomizes Victoria of a previous era, but with all the modern conveniences. My room wasn’t large, but was well laid out and felt quite spacious. The bathroom was bright and immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the neighbourhood was silent by 8pm. The guest kitchen was well appointed and maintained, with clear instructions on how to use appliances. Although I didn’t opt for it, breakfast was freshly prepared and looked like a good deal.

The decor is very traditional and beautiful. And most importantly, the warm and professional service from the staff made the entire experience even more relaxing from the moment of check-in, allowing me to fully enjoy the trip. If I have the chance to visit Victoria again, I will definitely choose The Craigmyle as my accommodation🫶🏻 Btw, I forgot to take pictures of the room, but the single room was just as beautiful as shown in the photos.

Actually, no, but if I had to mention a minor regret, it’s that the neighborhood where the guest house is located gets very dark at night. I would recommend those returning late to be cautious. When I went back around 8 PM, it was hard to see, and I even encountered some deer🦌

It's a nice property. The shared spaces are large and comfortably fitted out. The bedroom was also well appointed. It's smaller than you might find at a typical hotel but very comfortable anyway.

Street parking was limited to one side of the street and heavily used, so I ended up parking in the furthest possible place one could find. Not that long of a walk but just something to note - you may have to transport luggage a distance and then up many stairs (which is noted in the listing).

Beautiful home, great views on the castle, very friendly staff. Good check-in/out. Free parking. Clean room. Amazing house really and so many details to make your stay comfortable: coffee/tea station, lounge opportunities in the living room, breakfast option or use of communal kitchen to prepare your own meals, handwritten welcome enveloppes, chocolates on the room, beautiful bed decorations, room perfume upon arrival, etc etc. Really enjoyed the house during our stay.

Since it’s an old building, there is some tare and ware (on furniture, drapings, walls, etc) and the walls are a bit thin: we were a bit unlucky with guests watching loud tv until 01:00am in the room next to us.

Great location, CraigDarroch Castle right behind it. Clean room and washroom. Comfortable bed, just a little noisy when getting up. Shower was good, but it took several minutes to heat up. The coffee was good and appreciated. The staff was nice, even though we were getting our coffee when they were cleaning. We loved the floors without carpet and were happy to take off our shoes to keep it clean.

Little soundproofing, earplugs are a must for light sleepers. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. The stairs are on the narrow side, be careful with big bags.

I loved the nearly complete kitchen available for guests. The ample seating in the main room was inviting and I spent quite a bit of the gorgeous evening looking out the windows here. The guests were happy to say hello to one another but practiced modesty and didn't involve themselves in one another's business. The free-to-use laundry was extremely welcome as a cyclist on a tour of the Salish Sea! Coffee and tea in the main room, clean facilities, hot water, no problems here at all. No TV in my room meant I spent more time in the nice common area, a bonus for a solo traveler.

Guests could use the guest kitchen and prepare their own breakfast and snacks as required. The guest lounge was great for relaxing in the evenings.

As the property had warned, there were a lot of steps to climb both inside and outside the building, but I can't complain since that had been explained to us ahead of time. Also the property was a bit further out of town than we had expected, so it wasn't possible to walk into town.

The Craigmyle is located in a beautiful area of Victoria on Vancouver Island. It is easy to reach by bus (several options going to the hillside or university) and also at a walking distance from Victoria City Centre. The house is beautiful, big, and reminded us of houses in the UK. The staff was friendly. We didn't stay for breakfast as Victorua has several nice cafés, but the breakfast room is very nice, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Overall it was very nice, we really liked staying there and we stayed there two times (not consecutive dates).
