Our stay at the Byward Blue Inn was lovely. The breakfast provided was exceptional! Good coffee, three types of eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, fruit and many choices for bread, buns and croissants. But the best part was the fact that there was no single use plastic or disposable dishes that most hotels provide so I didn't have to bring my own dishes and you could enjoy your breakfast guilt free knowing you didn't produce a lot of waste . The breakfast room was really nice and had an outdoor patio you could sit out on. Our room had a balcony and we really enjoyed looking out at the goings on in the Byward Market. It also had a microwave and fridge with freezer. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the front desk people, breakfast servers, housekeeping and the custodian who helped us back out of the underground parking. Thank you for a great stay.
It was quite tight to park. Thankfully we had a small car and the custodian to help us get out of the parking lot.

The parking was surprisingly easy and cheap for my truck in the secure adjacent public parking arcade. The location to the downtown tourist attractions was perfect. The room was very clean and well equipped with a lovely balcony to chill on at the end of the day exploring. The breakfast provided was good quality and plentiful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. In hindsight we wish we stayed longer than the 2 nights. Highly recommend 👍
Nothing, very impressive hotel and staff and great value.

The location was perfect. We were very close to the ByWard Market and Parliament Hill. The staff were very warm and welcoming and communicated with me when I sent a message about parking. They reserved a spot for us in the underground parking. The breakfast provided in the morning was quite delicious - the best hotel breakfast we’ve had on our trip. They have maximized the space within the hotel. The halls are quite narrow but our room was perfectly spacious for just the two of us (the bathroom was a bit small but still totally fine.) We were impressed with how well maintained everything was in the whole building. It smelled clean as soon as we entered the hotel, both from the front lobby as well as the hallway and stairwell from the underground parking. We paid slightly extra for a little balcony and it was nice to have that outdoor space. There is clearly pride of ownership and the employees, from cleaning staff to food service to front desk are doing a great job.
The underground parking is limited so I was very glad I reserved ahead of time. Very reasonable at $15 a night. Otherwise it is all paid parking on the streets everywhere we could see in the vicinity.

We were very late arriving owing to plane delays but on arrival at reception everything was excellent as we paid when we arrived. Our room on the 6th floor had a balcony and was spacious with a lovely mini kitchen. What I particularly liked was the kettle in the room to make my tea. The location of the hotel right by Byward market and a big shopping mall was excellent. The hotel was also very close to public transport links which we found very convenient. The breakfast was very good with daily changes of menu and having a big appetite eating as much as I liked was a bonus. We stayed for the Christmas period and it certainly was the Christmas we wanted with the weather. All the staff were excellent and when we wanted a food store the receptionist recommended one just 15 minutes from the hotel which we frequented regularly. During our stay the hotel was full, which did not surprise us. For anyone wanting a hotel with great locations, breakfast, rooms and exceptional staff then we thoroughly recommend thee Byward Blue Inn.

Great location. Cute hotel. Nice breakfast. Clean rooms and good service. It is very close to The Byward Market and the hop on hop off stop. There is a parking ramp under the hotel that is very reasonably priced. I love staying at artsy hotels. So much more character.
Traveling companions, 2 couples, one in the mid-70s and the other early 80s.stayed 3 nights. We like to play cards in the breakfast area in the evening. We were not boisterous or inconsiderate and didn't disturb or mess up the area. Both nights while playing pinochle, the fellow at the desk seemed to be annoyed that we were in there . He came into the area a few times and looked as though he was irritated with us.. It wasn't late, and we weren't drinking or misbehaving in any way. I asked him if it was a problem. He had a sour look and mumbled under his breath. It was enough to make us feel unwelcome. This is the only thing I was disappointed about, and it wasn't enough to keep me from recommending or returning to the hotel.

Location was very good, in a great neighborhood with a nice variety of food options! The Hotel breakfast was excellent! Restaurant staff was very good each morning!
We know it was part of a school for hotel management. So they appeared to know the checking, We stated we wanted a room close to the elevator and not close to the ice machine. We needed two queen beds. We stated wrote the and stated to the desk staff. Out room was the last at the end of a long hall. When we got to the room, only one BED. A lead staff had to come and pull down a bed, make it and get pillows. Why, our reservation was made in December!

Small selection for breakfast but was delicious. All 4 rooms booked exceeded my expectation as it being an inn, i was expecting smaller rooms with lesser amenities. There was a coffee machine and a kettle in the kitchen. It was lovely. Staff was very friendly and super helpful. Location is within 7min walking distance to the market. Carpark is good. Some of the rooms we managed to book with balconies - the view was great too!
Carpark was smaller than expected we had difficulty getting the car in and out of the parking area - but it felt really safe and secure. Lifts are a little cramp but I was glad there were elevators around for senior folks.

We stayed at this hotel for the second time and were just as happy as the first. The location is perfect — right in the city center. The atmosphere is cozy and has a nice home-like vibe. The rooms aren’t brand new but are very comfortable and well-equipped, including a small kitchenette with a kettle, coffee maker, dishes, and even a sink with cleaning supplies. Bathrobes were a lovely touch. Housekeeping came every day, which we really appreciated. Thank you for the warm hospitality — we’ll definitely come back again!
The only minor inconveniences were the limited parking — the hotel is part of the old town and located within a subdivision, so we parked in the city (free on Sundays) and also used a nearby paid public parking. Breakfast was good and had everything essential, but the selection of vegetables could be a bit broader. Still, these were small things — overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and are grateful for the warm hospitality!

I arrived at 9:30pm in the evening. Room next door was throwing a party with loud music and obnoxious jerks singing and talking loudly. Front desk was able to accomodate my request for a room change. Beds were comfortable, I slept well. The breakfast was basic but had a selection of cereal, fresh fruits, yogurt, scrambled eggs, potatoes, egg sandwhiches, and bacon/sausage/ham depending on the day. The hotel was in a great location, lots of great restaurants and shops nearby. I think overall I would stay again.
Thin walls need better soundproofing. You can hear guests from other rooms and in the hallway. Recommended to bring ear plugs.

The location was great, didn't have to worry about the noise from the streets, and the staff were accommodating when wanting a couple of extra items for our room. The staff were very on top of keeping the dining room clean as people were coming in and out, they would even clean the plates off for us while we still sat down. The room was also nice and clean and spacious for what we needed for our stay, not too small and not too big.
A clarification on the deposit hold would be nice. I was able to use my Visa Debit to initially place the hold of the room, but then a day before when they try and take the deposit, I was then told I need a credit card. Not all the time do people have a credit limit high enough for a deposit. It would also have been nice to have more clarification that while parking is available, had I known that it was a format come first serve situation, I would have done that prior to getting g there. I didn't appreciate needing to pay over $100 extra for the length of time we were there, just to ensure we had parking. Even with the Public parking right beside it, there was no possible way of even getting a discount, especially for everyone else that stays at the Inn but jas no parking.
