Location fantastic. Stuff friendly.

Rooms need full mirrors. Bathroom and hallway needing mirrors & hooks and chairs maybe. Lacking storage, so all stuff were laying in suitcase on the floor. Front line staff need training on tourist attractions etc to guide overseas tourists.

A cute hotel with a cat in a superb location. The hotel is only a short walk (10 minutes) from two subway stations - Dong Si and Chaoyangmen; the latter being three stops from Lama Temple. We were essentially always within an hour of all of Beijing's major historical sites. Additionally the hotel is in a traditional HuTong or alleyway quite akin to the side streets that Japan is famous for. The staff are super friendly and the cat likewise, although the latter isn't too big a fan of being picked up. Breakfast consisted of a choice of Millet porridge, steamed sweet potato, pumpkin or yam, fried eggs, fruit, salad, yoghurt, cold ham, toast, and depending on the day dumplings, or buns. I got two twin rooms which, at around £50 per night per person was super great value and you'd struggle to find anything like it for the price anywhere else. All the drinks in the mini bar were free and replenished daily, and the room also had traditional Chinese tea 😊

I would say that one of the rooms lacked a wardrobe for storing clothes and the bathrooms were a little on the small side with the toilet situated directly in front of the shower door 🤔. Also if I were to nitpick, the lighting in the room is quite harsh and white; it could be warmer and softer.

There's a Chinese expression: "麻雀雖小，五臟俱全" “A sparrow may be small, but it has all the five organs”. This applies very well to this hotel. Even though the overall building is small, it has a charming and beautiful library, with a hidden 2nd-floor balcony garden, and an artistically decorated hallway gallery. The rooms are also comfortable and roomy (We are a family of six, and we stayed in the Li Yuan Two Bedroom Suite.) They also offer unlimited free expressos (with an expresso machine), and cold bottled drinks in the lobby. The staff are amazing. During our stay, Tang Tang and her colleagues help us in many different situations. For example, You need to have a local Chinese phone number to make registration for Tiananmen Square. We didn't have one. So Tang Tang helped us to make the registration with her number. Her colleague also went the extra mile in helping other visitors set up their Alipay accounts (Almost impossible to buy/pay for stuff without it). The cleaning staff ladies are also very friendly and gracious to our children, who unfortunately made most of the messes that they cleaned up. And of course, Pudding (布丁) the cat became the prime attraction for our kids and made us feel at home. The location is excellent. It is about a 5-minute walk with many local eateries with a wide range of Chinese cuisine from different parts of the country. It becomes a lively place for a late-night snack/meal. It is also a walkable distance to a grocery store (~10 mins), Starbucks/McDonalds (~15 mins), and Wangfujing Street (20-30 mins).

Not much. Maybe Wifi that has a built-in VPN to go around the government firewall?

I absolutely loved this hotel! Super clean and well-kept. Not to mention, the hospitality was excellent! All the staff were super patient and kind, complimentary coffee was provided and they would even help you make them! The hotel is very tourist-friendly, step outside and you’re surrounded by restaurants and shops, super convenient. All the staff members were very helpful as well , they helped us book a cab, order takeout, help deliver the items to our room. The hotel door remains locked from the outside for security. There is a bell you can press, and the staff will open the door for you. This ensures safety and prevents any potential issues! There was a particular staff member I really liked, and i hope for this praise to reach her! Her name is Grace. She always went out of her way to assist, even if it meant going the extra mile. Definitely recommend this hotel, and i’ll be back again next year when im in Beijing!

The rooms were a little small, which my parents had a small dislike to, but that was fine with me as i usually prefer a cosier stay :)

Very friendly and helpful staff, great location. We had two rooms and while the one on the base floor was quite dark, we really liked the one on the upper floor with terrace. The pipes in the bathroom smelled slightly but that’s probably because the construction is old. Breakfast as well as free coffee at reception were convenient. We witnessed how fast the terrace was beautifully rebuild, so that will also be a nice place to relax in the future for sure. Also the kids loved the cute cat. We can definitively Imagine coming back.

Location is very convenient. Relatively short walk (12m) to multiple subway lines, in walking distance from Wangfujing and cycling distance to almost all attractions in central Beijing. Given the size of Beijing, that's a pretty great feature. The neighbourhood itself is a cute old Hutong and features plenty of shops for all kinds of budgets. The staff were friendly. The overall design of the place was also nice. The bed was comfortable (not as hard as you would find in many places in China, though definitely not too soft either). The entire place also felt clean throughout. Overall, I can definitely recommend this place as a good 'home base' for visiting Beijing.

I found the room just a little small: I could not lie my (admittedly very large) suitcase flat, which was a little inconvenient. Some parts of the furnishing looked a little bit worn, though this latter point did not affect the quality of my stay. There was no daily cleaning of bed sheets, but they do refresh towels and the like. This I personally found totally acceptable.

The biggest plus point is the staff. They were excellent- very helpful and accommodating. Our group of 4 took the parent-child room. Size was adequate for our needs as we didn’t have big bags. About 10 mins walk to Chaoyangmen Metro. The eateries at the main street are patronised by the locals. If you are looking for something more upmarket to have your breakfast, that street is not for you. The hotel has a very sweet cat, Pudding, who loves to sleep at the reading area at night. We liked the area and we certainly had a good stay.

Nothing much except the shower pressure was weak.

The property is beautifully done up and the size of the rooms that i had booked were comfortable for all of us to open our luggages. The staffs, Coco and her colleague, were very helpful when we met with a problem with our delivery. They went over the top to help us with our missing parcel and offered us a few solutions which helped us solved our problem within 2hrs. Last but not least, they have a cute kitty welcoming us everyday!!

The downside is that it is not near the mtr and that there are no lift in the hotel. We have to lug our heavy luggages up and down the stairs

I stayed in this hotel with my mom snd sister for 10 days. The location is excellent in the Hutong and close to metro station. Good value for money. All the staff are extremely friendly always with a smile and able to solve all the troublesome requests we had. They had taken extra care for my elderly mom. And their cat is definitely the superstar of the hotel that adds an extra sense of welcoming to the guests. Strongly recommend and will definitely return !! Landy Liew , Hong Kong

A Wonderful Stay at a Great Hotel Our stay at the hotel was absolutely delightful. The room was very nice—spacious, clean, and comfortable. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making us feel right at home. The bathroom was especially impressive, with a modern, well-designed toilet that added to the overall comfort and luxury of the stay. A special mention goes to Coco, the receptionist, who made our experience even better. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Her warm welcome and attention to detail truly made a difference. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere on a good location.
