Location is good as near from all major attractions of Shanghai, Rooms are quit small but breakfast is good with multiple options. Overall everything is good.

We arrived in the evening and it was quiet. On stepping out of the Hotel into the plaza/street area I experienced an old world Shanghai feeling ...quite unique....like I had stepped back in time. The Hotel itself has that feeling too....comforting. The location was great, walkable to the Bund, River, Museums, shopping, Restaurants. The breakfast was varied and tasty. Staff in the Dining room and on the door were all helpful and all staff were kind.

The hotel located in the prime area in Shanghai, just a few minutes walk from the Bund, with plenty of shops, restaurant around. Thanks for the hotel Manager Chole, we've got upgraded to an amazing suite with fantastic views of the Bund, the bed and linen are comfort, the bathroom is spacious and clean, everything to the satisfaction.

Despite a small hiccup while checking in late night, everything else was perfect.

I have stayed here twice in the past year (both times for business) - rooms are nicely decorated & comfortable, staff are friendly (and most speak English), there is a decent buffet breakfast and the location is excellent - 5 mins walk to the bund view and to Nanjing road. I would definitely recommend paying a little extra for the outside facing view, as with the inner courtyard view you get the noise of the generator at times.

The breakfast was amazing, big choice of European food. The location of the hotel was very convinient, 10 minutes walk to the Bund. In the neighbourhood the longest street with shoping center, food courts, shops etc. Out room wasn't ready so we chose to pay extra for a better room and it was a great decision. We had 3 rooms and beautiful bathroom. The cleaning service was really nice and friendly, also staff in the reception.

The AC was not working in few days , and they did not inform us before but they try there best to do what ever we need and also they send for us 2 fan and water + soft drinks somthing cold , the staff was very very good but the manager was very rude with us when we discuss with him about the AC

Upgrade definitely not worth the extra money. Air con did not work first night and it was exceptionally hot. Shower dangerously moved between hot and cold for every shower. Disappointed that the bar and lounge area were not operational

This hotel is a perfect combination of price, location, helpful staff and atmosphere. However, the overall management of the facilities and breakfast could be better. Overall I would not say it is a 5 star hotel, but if I come to Shanghai again, I will stay at the Metropolo for the reasons above.

Very warm and helpful staff especially on the door and in the lobby. Very welcome help with taking luggage upstairs and putting it into storage - very rare these days. The reception sent immediate help when I need to adjust the air conditioing in the room.

The only problem was that the lobby is too cold! too much AC, otherwise everythings was great. The building is a little sombre, but the furnishings suit and the atmosphere is elegant.
