The grandure of the entire experience. The attention of the staff was exceptional. The proximity to Nanjing Lu is a major attraction.

The hotel does not accept Tap and Pay credit card facility, you need a physical card. Strange for such an exceptional and high end hotel. Also, taking a deposit of 90% is abit on the nose. Don't trust the guest? A deposit should be just that...a deposit ie 50% or less.

Location: The hotel is in an excellent central spot—just a short walk to Nanjing Road and close to The Bund, metro stations, and many shops and restaurants. Super convenient for exploring the city. Room comfort: The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and stocked with good amenities. Service: The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the concierge was knowledgeable and supportive with directions and local tips. Value for money: Given the location and room quality, I felt the hotel offered very good value for the price.

Wi-Fi: The internet connection was slow and unreliable at times, which was a bit frustrating, especially if you need to work or stream content. You also need to use VPN if you want to access Whatsapp and so many other sites.

In terms of luxury, the room exceeded expectations. It was very roomy and had the necessary facilities. We did not take the breakfast, because it was too expensive. In comparison a DimSum lunch at the same hotel. which is more special, is only 20RMB more expensive. The location is excellent. It is spot in the centre of Shanghai and close to the most attractions.

The staff were professional, but some did not provide that little empathic "extra", which is expected from a 5-star hotel. On the contrary, a concierge staff was very much focused in selling tours and attractions at a high cost, knowing that we are overseas non-chinese speaking, which most likely he gained a commission from.

The location is exceptional. The famous Nanjing Road is just one block away and metro station is also within a short walking distance. In addition to that, the room is spacious and clean. The bed is comfortable. The hotel staffs are friendly. The most thing we like is that the sink, the bathroom, and the shower are separated with door so both of us can use at the same time to minimize the waiting time. I will certainly recommend this hotel to the tourists.

The only drawback is that the hotel didn’t replace the shower cap and the slippers every day. But it was not a big deal for us as we also like to save the environment.

Excellent location, quiet room, good selection of mini-bar. Low occupancy rate, I can see not many people as I bypassed the breakfast area, although I do not take breakfast. The room make-up service is good and polite. They give extra complimentary bottled water and changed the towels daily. The concierge was very helpful even when I checked out the hotel at 5.50am.

One of the front desk receptionists is quite conceited and impatient when I was checking in. The deposit sum is double of my 5 night-stay which I think it is unnecessary high. The wifi connection was unable to use overseas websites.

Colonial style, space in the room and the bath I can fit in as I am 6’1 tall. Fairly well maintained.

Hard to pick out one but it may be the outdated TV and the weak aircon. It got the room to be cool enough to be comfortable but I could still walk around naked fine with the aircon set to 15degs. I think the coldest the room got to was 23degs which still better than the 33 deg humid weather.

This is a luxurious 5 star hotel slightly old school but in a good way. Great location. 1 minute walk from east nanjing metro and the pedestrian street. 5 min walk from the bund. The hotel is lovely and very well looked after. The room is pristine and large. Very comfortable sleep as it was very quiet. There is a gym, pool and spa for hotel guests. Huge bar downstairs. We ordered room service for breakfast one day and it was really good. It was my partners birthday during our stay. We did not say anything about this but the hotel kindly left a cake in the room for us on his birthday. This was a very nice gesture.

My only gripe was the shower gels were changed every day even though they were only used once. I didn’t like this as it was wasteful.

Amazing 5 star hotel and probably the best value for money.

The reception will ask you for security deposit of 50 USD per night of which isn't justified by anything if you argue with them they can give you a discount. This was totally absurd given the fact that they also preauthorized one night's stay and kept my money for a month. Be aware of this. It's a shame there is such practice otherwise I could say this is one of the better hotels I stayed in.

Great location, just a 2 minute walk to Nanjing St and 10 minutes from the Bund. Staff were great, extremely helpful, and very friendly and welcoming. The room was a good size, the bed was really comfortable and room service was quick and efficient. The hotel left a cake in my room for my birthday - nice touch :)

Breakfast was quite expensive at $40 AUD and I found it hard to justify the cost. Everything else was great.

Everything about this hotel was perfect, the ambiance as you enter is really grand, the room size was huge and had all amenities, the pool was big, the gym was okay, and the location . . . . was the best! Bang on the East Nanjing Road and 50 mtrs to the Metro station . . take a day pass and travel around Shanghai, I used to hop off at any station and walk around for a bit outside and then off to another destination . . . I will highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
