The overall stay was very comfortable, the room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was great with a separate bath tub and shower facility. There was a work desk provided, which made the overall stay much more comfortable. The location was very central, with the Yu Garden, Bund and the nanjing road being 10 - 15 minutes of walking distance. There are 2 metro stations within a 10 minutes walking distance The staff was accommodating as well and some of them would help going beyond expectations. Would definitely come back and stay in the hotel

While appearing huge, the breakfast options weren't diverse enough, and staying in for 4 nights, it was very repetitive with the refills being extremely slow to no refills at times. There was limited staff that could understand English well, which made is difficult to ask the reception any queries or even the restaurant staff for help/questions on dishes. Finally, the room was neat overall but the room service did not clean or vacuum on a regular basis, they would only dust and fix the sheets (Without changing them), and just replace the essentials in the room I had asked for an extra bed, which they helped with. However, they covered the head post with towel as it was damaged internally, where I would expect better out of Westin and provide with bedding that doesn't need covering up.

The location was great and the room was spacious. But the staff were variable. Many did not speak much English which is surprising in a leading International hotel. The exception was the Concierge and his department - they provided excellent service and organised special trips for us. Also had an issue on arrival at 8am. Guy on reception said our room was not ready but would be so at 10 am. That was great news after a long flight. But when we returned at 10am the girl on Reception said it would not be ready until midday. Huge letdown. Argued the toss then the original guy came back, fiddled with the system and hey presto, a room was suddenly available! Bliss!

The food was pretty average- had better Chinese food from our local takeaway! Biggest complaint was that a lot of food was served lukewarm - too far from the kitchen? But can recommend the atrium maitre’d - he put me onto the ‘free-flow lunch’ - a meal with bottomless pour of a nice wine for 88 RMB! Plus the food, of course. Could have got into big strife, if my wife had not turned up during third glass!

Breakfast buffet was incredible - everything anyone could possibly want, including made to order omelettes, staff took tea & coffee requests as they showed us to our table & quickly fulfilled them. Location very close to Nanjing Rd shopping area and The Bund, walking distance to Shanghai Museum, Yu Gardens, excellent restaurants. Thank you for upgrade to suite - magnificent room, super comfy bed, so much space! Extra big thank you to concierge Jerry who went above & beyond when assisting us with purchase of wine as gifts to local friends - that's what excellent service is all about!

Didn't know I'd need a swimming cap for pool, wasn't prepared to buy one for a quick cool off.

Perfect location to explore Shanghai yet away from the busy pedestrian street but close to good restaurants. Our early check-in and late check-out were super smooth and fast (and free of charge). The room was clean and quiet.

Having no hygienic shower in the bathroom was quite disappointing. And special attention drew the breakfast. It had varieties of food but almost all of the pre-made positions looked unappetizing and messy. Took the personnel long time to fill in the empty stations. You won’t leave it hungry but to my opinion hardly satisfied.

The club lounge was only on the 5th floor so no nice views. Usually club lounges are on high floors with great views. Also, despite requesting for high floors (which was duly noted by the hotel) for both my executive suites, I was given 6th & 7th floors. Had to ‘insist’ on it again the next day and asking the staff to get a manager involved to finally get slightly higher floors (10th & 15th)…. though would have preferred even higher floors. The view was one of the reasons we chose this hotel.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. My Father in Law and Mother in Law joined us for the last night as my Mother in Law needed surgery and was going into the hospital the next day. They gave us an extra bed, a bigger room and did everything they could to make things more comfortable. I truly appreciated it.

It would be nice to have the deposit returned to my account immediately upon check out. Since I paid using my Visa Debit Card the money should have been returned to my debit card upon check out not seven days later. We live in an electronic age in which transactions are made instantly. My deposit money should not be used to elevate their float capital.

Location is superb, very near to The Bund, all in walking distance, I mean if you can walk for 700 m to 900 m or just simply take a taxi, but walk is best to avoid traffic. The hotels is superb and their service is amazing. We even extended our stay by one more day. Very Near to the Bund, Nanjing Road, Xintiandi area and more. By taxi all is like 20 min. Rooms are super spacious and loved the bathtub with hot water.

We had a fantastic stay at The Bund Westin Shanghai! Special thanks to Ms. Arina for changing our room to a higher floor with a stunning view of the Pearl Tower. My sister and I had a truly memorable experience. We’ll definitely choose this hotel again when we’re in Shanghai! This hotel room is an epitome of modern luxury, designed to feel like a sophisticated studio apartment. The spacious layout flows seamlessly, featuring a plush king-size bed that anchors the sleeping area. A walk-in wardrobe stands elegantly nearby, offering ample storage for your belongings while enhancing the room's sense of refinement.

The room could be stuffy at night.

The room we were given at first was not as shown in the pictures. It was rather small, with one window only, with view to a building. However, my complaint was immediately taken into consideration and we could change to a beautiful and spacious room in the grand tower, without any extra costs. From there, everything was perfect. The hotel is beautiful and well looked after. There are always people cleaning every corner, a lot of staff in every place and very attentive to customer's needs. Despite having a lot of guests, there is always somebody ready to help. The buffet breakfast is amazing with a lot of chinese and occidental choice. The hotel has several restaurants and bars, one can choose from. It is obviously more expensive than eating in the city, but it's still a reasonable price.

As in all Shanghai, staff speak little English and they struggle to understand more complex requests. However they always have a translator app ready in case of being lost in translation. I did not like that they request a deposit in order to charge services to the room. This was also not advised on Booking.com. They wanted to take approx 500 euros as deposit from my account, which I refused. Meaning however that I had to pay all extra services (restaurant,etc) on the spot without being given the choice to pay later at check-out.

Overall the important things to remember a stay in a Hotel as positive has been fine. - loction very good - staff very helpful and pro active and customer oriented - room with nice layout, comfortable bed, internet good connection, AC also good. - breakfast good

only small things... - english skills of some employees still a lot of space to be better for this kind of hotel category and price level - sockets not 100% friendly for international visitors and condition of sockets (socket of USB and others on the working desk) not the best one (room 2608) - condition of handles in the shower and their function need to be maintained. - consider the quality debts mention above, slightly overpriced with 200 USD per night, but maybe because of exhibition surcharges...
