The location is exceptional. It is walking distance from Yu Garden and on a good weather day can even walk to People’s Square from there. The staff of the hotel is exceptionally cooperative. Our flight got cancelled late at night and they helped call the airline helpline and get information for us. Ps: When it was pouring down and we couldn’t step out for food, the staff helped order food for us online.

The room size was good, I really liked the sliding partition between the bedroom and the living area for extra privacy. The bath that fit 2 people next to a big window with a view of Shanghai was amazing. Staff were friendly, breakfast food was good, a mini fridge got restocked daily with water and soft drinks, the hotel was located between lots of tourist attractions at a walkable distance. I also requested early check-in (4 hours early) due to a morning arrival. I emailed in advance and they accommodated my request with no issues or extra fees.

Taxi drivers didn't like dropping us off outside the hotel, so we often had to get dropped off at the other side of the road and make our way across. Although the sliding partition between the bedroom and the living area was great, the partition between the bathroom and the bedroom was no good.

- opposite of our room was construction work which start 05.30 hours in the morning, so we are awake by then. (Would be nice that the front desk Informed us) - the housekeeping forgot some thing which I asked for - reception is OK, however they are sometimes not efficient. 3 persons helping with one request

Very friendly staff, everybody I spoke to spoke proper English. The room was very big and comfortable. Despite ongoing constructions nearby, the room was dead silent. Free water, vegetable snack and soft drinks were very nice addition. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I had in Asia! Large buffet with plenty options for vegetarians, and some for vegans as well.

The room could be a bit cleaner. Generally it was clean (for example bed was spot on), but some parts of the floor were not cleaned properly. I am a very cleanliness-sensitive person and room was clean enough for me, so I guess it should be perfectly fine for most people.

This hotel is in an excellent location, convenient to mist of the main sightseeing attractions and extremely handy to 2 metro stations. The breakfast offered a good range of food for both westerners and Asian tastes and was regularly replenished. We loved the free laundry facilities which enabled us to freshen up clothes in such a warm climate. There were bottles of water left daily on our room as well as soft drinks in the fridge. We even had fruit in a bowl. Staff at reception were extremely helpful, arranging for an iron and ironing board to be sent to our room and ordering us a really comfortable taxi to travel to the airport in. They also helped us to find a country club with a pool that we could go to for the day when the weather became too hot to walk around in.

The terrace outside the restaurant was nice to sit out on in such warm weather but didn’t have much of a view. Retrospectively I would have loved a swimming pool to cool down in.

Such a friendly welcome. Allowed me to check in at 10am and had upgraded me to a lovely room. Location was brilliant and room had a sheet with loads of helpful hints about places to go and how to get there. Complimentary drink, the ability to switch a paid for breakfast for lunch or dinner instead, free laundry access, an online spa and gym. I absolutely couldn't fault this hotel. (I had spent the previous two nights in another SSAW hotel in a different part of the city and my experience was completely different.

Nicely located near the metro line 10, the hotel is easy to reach from the airport and the main points of interest in the city. The pictures of the room correspond to our experience, the venue was always clean; and the staff was always helpful when asked, even with some language barrier here and there. The washing machine and dryer were a great life safer, especially because indoor smoking can be quite usual in many vicinities in the city. It will not be the cheapest option, but nevertheless affordable and our stay was worth it!

Our room had an unpleasant smell, at first. The staff was helpful with this, requesting extra cleaning and trying to figure it out the cause. Once the ventilation was let on all day long, we could not perceive it anymore.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the breakfasts. The restaurant was not only beautifully designed and impeccably clean, but it also offered an impressive variety of dishes every single day. The selection included both Chinese and European cuisine, ensuring there was something for everyone. What truly set the dining experience apart was the stunning terrace attached to the restaurant. Enjoying my breakfast with a breathtaking view of Shanghai’s financial district was an unforgettable way to start the day. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with top-notch dining options. It exceeded all my expectations!

The hotel room size was spacious. The bath robes were nice and fluffy. Hairdryer provided was good. Pleased with the free laundry and dryers. The breakfast spread was great over my 6 days stay including the service staff at the morning breakfast - they were enthusiastic, welcoming and friendly. Overall, the hotel looks renovated recently. In particular, Nin Zhen at the reception was friendly and helpful in facilitating our requests where possible.

We did not manage to get connecting rooms. The cleanliness of the rooms and toilets could be improved. Lastly, the opening hours for the laundry room should be reviewed because it doesn’t make sense for it to only be open from 9am to 10pm.
