It was close to Yu Yuan Garden (the hotel was just around the corner). Took the DiDi taxi ride to The Bund and other places (which to my surprise, DiDi rides were not that expensive). My DiDi app was connected to my Alipay app which was very convenient. The hotel itself was basic, clean, comfortable, and had great location. the price wasn’t bad.

The walls of the room were not thick- you can hear the voices of the people on the hallway. This was not really bothersome for us, as the noise did not wake us up. The Outer facade of the hotel did not look nice, but the rooms inside were ok. What I did not like in this hotel was that once you check out, they don’t have any available toilet for the checked out guests. Our flight back home was late at night, so We left our luggage for the day, but when we got back and wanted to freshen up before heading to the airport, there was no available toilet for us, which was kind of annoying.

It is very close to one of the famous location Yu Garden / Yuyuan garden and Metro station line 10, line 14. The other attractions like Bund is only 1 km and People’s square is within 2 kms

It is very clean and tidy

I liked the location and the room. Staff was very friendly but hardly speaks English. Fortunately this can be overcome by using translation with iPhone. The picture on the advertisement does not show the hotel but a building nearby.

One day before my departure the furniture in the room was changed without prior informing me. I did not consider this correct. The floors in the entire room were dangerous because when wet they became very slippery. I slipped and nearly hurt myself badly.

Located in an area with lots of food and other stores within very short walk. Found Starbucks 3 doors away from the hotel entrance. Also a nice little bar with a narrow outside terrace on floor 3. Rooftop terrace is very good. Can see Shanghai Tower and other big financial district buildings from it. 10 minute walk to The Bund and waterfront and a further 1.2 kilometers along The Bund to the tourist tunnel under the river to the Pudong side. Walk back with the beautifully lit Bund was well worth doing.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to major attractions and convenient to the airport. The room is spacious, with an interesting design. But the design is somewhat strange. There is not enough lighting in the room. It was still not possible to connect to the Internet.

Honestly the perfect location. So close to the metro and Yu Yuan Gardens, and a nice walk to the Bund. Plenty of restaurants (including Starbucks for those after a strong coffee) and shops right around the corner too. The room wasn’t huge but fit our needs perfectly. We didn’t notice any noise from other guests at all. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The terrace was a nice little bonus, though worth noting you don’t have street views, but get a lovely view of some of the lights in the area at night. I would definitely recommend one of the terrace rooms if you like some natural light, and I believe there are a lot of rooms which are internal and have no windows (just something to keep in mind when booking).

There is no breakfast provided at the hotel but there is a starbucks not far and many food options around the hotel. It is very near a metro station from which it is very easy to find and really 5 minutes to walk from metro station to the hotel. It is very close to the Yu gardens and the neighbourhood with the lively markets and food places. Staff are very helpful and they offered free bottles of water. The room is comfortable and sufficient. Do not expect luxuries but given the location these are not needed. Also, an extra bonus of the hotel is that its second floor, not part of the hotel but the bulding where the hotel is placed, there are exciting tea shops selling all you want to buy in relation to tea, selling both tea and very special tea-pots. There is also a shop owned by two Master ceramicists who create their own very very special tea pots. Those complaining in the comments about the noise in the hotel are very unfair because the Hotel is in a lovely neighbourhood, noisy and original, with lots of people circulating. Once the windows are shut there is good insulation and you do not hear a thing. If you have them open you listen to the buz of the city which is very nice and at night, if you have a room with a small balcony, you can look at the city lights!! Really nice.

I did not like that the entrance of the Hotel is a bit gloomy and that the plants at the balcony of our room are plastic and worn out.

The property was in a fabulous location, the rooms were very clean and the shower had the best water pressure. It also has a really cute robot running around delivering food, that added to our daily entertainment.

Wafer thin walls! We could hear the tv of the adjoining room that seemed to back onto our bedroom wall, our friends in the next room could hear our voices, and we could hear the very loud voices of anyone in the vicinity of our room - such as an argument by one family, as they banged their doors, another family staying up late with their tv on who seemed to be yelling at each other. We were there 4 nights, and every night there seemed to be drama with different neighbours, all noisy.

Most friendly and hospitality staff are the room cleaning staff. They smile and greet you whenever you see them at the hallway. I will visit this hotel just for this reason. Staff at reception service are nice and helpfull. Room as well cleaned and fresh. Location is amazing just literly just a few footsteps away from shops and food vendors.

There is one specific young man at the reception with glasses was not that helpfull. I asked where I can find the bank to change some cash but he seems not that interested in my question and just pointed the way towards the exit and told me is around the block of the building. Reception personal should be more detailed with information whenever a foreign costumer ask for information. The rest of the staff reception are very nice and helpfull.

Excellent location, right in the heart of the old town and just a few minutes from Yu Garden. The hotel is comfortable and well-maintained; we stayed here at both the beginning and end of our trip. Our first room on the 5th floor was a bit nicer than the second one on the 6th, but overall we were very happy with our stay. The rooms aren’t especially spacious, but they’re clean, comfortable, and have all the essential amenities. We also loved the rooftop terrace, and the hotel has a robot, which was a fun touch! Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again if we return to Shanghai.

There wasn’t much we didn’t like. The only minor issue was that the hotel canceled our first stay on Booking, even though we had deliberately booked a day early so we could check in as soon as our flight landed. That said, we had no problems staying at the property.
