The staff are a credit to the hotel, courteous and friendly. Very professional. The gardens are very impressive with live animals and well maintained

Over reliance on single use plastic items such as salt, pepper, sauces, straws, drink stirs etc. A hotel of this calibre shouldn’t be using these. Food fairly average, expected better.

This iconic historical building is truly impressive, with beautifully designed rooms and even exotic Colombian animals on-site. We loved our experience so much that we decided to return—and this time, stay even longer. Having traveled extensively around the world, I can confidently say this place is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for an exceptional place to stay in Cartagena—rich in history, perfectly located, with great amenities and outstanding staff—look no further. What’s also great is that it caters to different budgets. On our first visit, we stayed in one of the luxury rooms. The second time, the hotel was fully booked, and we stayed in a more affordable room—which still offered excellent value and comfort.

Great location. Extremely friendly and efficient staff. Nice set up with two pools and other facilities. Large, plentiful buffet breakfast with lots of choices.

Beach club portion needs updating. Not very attractive and inviting. Make it easier for folks to wash off sand when they return from the beach. Showers not very functional. It would be good to have some near pool area and have guests use them BEFORE going in the pool, since otherwise they are all sweaty or covered in suntan lotion ;-)

The facilites were superb. A little busier than I would have liked, but lovely pools and a lot of areas to relaz. Very tight security. Rooms large and beds very comfortable.

We had an issue with our friend from Venezuela not having the proper documentation. I paid for his room, and a refund is still pending. He was not even allowed in the hotel to visit us..

I really loved the animals at the hotel, roaming freely here without fear of people. There are deer, peacocks with their babies, parrots - it’s just like living in the wild. The hotel grounds themselves are large and well-maintained, perfect for walking. There’s an absolutely stunning deep Olympic-sized pool where I swam every day, and a wonderful breakfast with a huge selection - you definitely won’t go hungry.“​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The beach is public and dirty ☹️

This hotel is absolutely stunning, especially with its expansive and beautifully maintained grounds. The property is home to a variety of animals including macaws, deer, sloths, and peacocks, which added a unique and charming touch to the experience. There are two gyms to choose from, several pools and jacuzzis, a beach club, and complimentary access to the spa area, which made it easy to relax and recharge. Overall, it’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a truly restful holiday.

The pools are amazing, beautiful and clean. The rooms are comfortable, large and clean. The hotel is quiet yet well located (10 min taxi ride from the center, far from the crazy noise of the city) The staff is efficient and very nice The breakfast buffet is generous and good

We were traveling with 3 kids and booked two rooms. The hotel made no arrangement for the rooms to be next to each other. The dinner in the hotel restaurant is a bad deal (120K COP / adult for a buffet of mediocre food)

I liked the spa which has a whirlpool, Turkish steam bath, and a sauna. Hotel check in and check out were pretty easy. There is a lot of wildlife on the property, which made the stay enjoyable. There is a good variety at breakfast, and private security for the beach club. The hotel staff surprised me and left a small cake in my room for my birthday. The location is close to businesses for things you may need. It was easy enough to taxi back and forth to the walled city.

The tourism worker didn’t seem to know much about local tours. I was in Cartagena for my birthday and explained that I wanted to spend my special day on a pristine beach. I explained this several times, and even had one beach in mind. She told me the best beach and the one she recommended (Isla del Encanto) would meet all of my requirements. I was sadly disappointed that the beach was not pristine as promised, and there were better beaches I could have gone to for the same price or cheaper. The WiFi did not work most of the time I was there, and the tv didn’t work the first day. The hotel does not have small face towels.

Several very clean and refreshing pools welcome guests. The breakfast features a good variety of foods almost everyone can enjoy. The room in the historic building was good for two people. The expansive grounds host several animals and many flowers and plants.

Maybe it was just in the historic section of the hotel, but my room didn't have warm water. It took me a little while to adjust to cold showers, but I realize it's so hot sometimes, a cold shower is all you need.

Excellent location, spacious, comfortable, lots of beds at the pool and a safe space by the beach. It was clean and all indoor places had blasting AC to beat the 107F weather. To get to my room, there was no indoor passage, so the 3min walk was heavy on the heat hahaha. Food was good, buffet breakfast and lunch, and a l carte dinner. Optional all inclusive or pay per meal. Lunch and Dinner were typically around $35 per person. I consider it a little pricey considering so many restaurants nearby, but the food was good and the comfort worth it. Room was good, bed was fairly comfortable, and the shower pressure was good. Hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, soap, bath gel, hair dryer, and safe in the closet. The spa is small but with different massage services, Turkish bath and hot tub. The room is equipped with a mini bar with drinks and snacks, at “hotel price”, good to get when in a rush, but I suggest walking out to the pharmacy less than 2 blocks away that is open 24 hours. You’ll get the same at more than half the price. The bellboys at the entrance are so helpful and very kind, either helping you or guiding you around the hotel. They also assist in getting you a taxi to get around. The hotel is well located by Bocagrande beach (hotel has a private area with lounge chairs and restaurant), and close by to the city with restaurants, souvenir shops, pharmacies and stores. There is also a small shopping mall within walking distance.

There wasn’t an indoor passage to the building with rooms. Front desk could be more attentive and informative.
