Very nice staff and a beautiful roof top bar. We rented the roof top fir an evening to welcome our guests in Cartagena 2 days before our wedding. The drinks and snacks were very good and the view on the old town and Boca Grande was great! They also booked a DJ for the welcome cocktail that we and our guests enjoyed very much! Many thanks to the hotel staff for your hospitality!

I don't like that the horse carriages (that are everywhere in the historic center) parked directly in front of the hotel entrance. Because of the hot climate it is smelly and the coachmen are sometimes pushy and I don't like that at all. I don't like these carriages in general because I think it is cruel for the animals to carry tourists through the hot, loud an busy streets crowded with cars and people. But because it is a public place, I do not know if the Hotel has any influence about where they park.

Sophia is a nice hotel, but it was much better one or two years ago. The staff is very friendly, but the prices for food and drinks at the rooftop are way too high — even more expensive than at a restaurant.

The prices at the rooftop are too high (one national beer costs $4.50, which is very expensive for Cartagena)! Also, there was a wedding event at night, and the music was too loud. We had to leave the rooftop because they started moving things around. They also don't have enough towels for the pool. This hotel is losing its quality as a boutique hotel.

My room was very large and spacious, impeccably clean, had a very comfortable bed, ample storage space, plenty of hot water and good pressure in the shower, good air conditioning and there was a lovely view of the plaza. The location is absolutely stellar, just a few minutes from the wall along the ocean and very easy walking distance to all the main points of interest. The staff, however, are the main draw - over the top helpful and exceptionally kind.

Small boutique hotel inside the Historic City. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Location is great, right near an exit to the city. Near shopping and great variety of restaurants. Breakfast is very good, small buffet complemented by hot items to order. Friendly staff, always willing to help out. Shout out to Farid at the front desk and Belkys at the restaurant.

Water pressure in the shower can be better. We had an issue with the hot water, it was corrected the same day we reported it, truly appreciated it.

Beautiful building and lovely rooms. We had a junior suite which was huge with an extra large bed, 2 ac units and 2 fans. The toiletries were very good quality. The staff were friendly and professional. The location was perfect, on a quieter square in the walled city, close to everything

The breakfast could have been better. The fresh fruit was great but granola and better yogurt would haven been good too.

Loved this hotel so much. Is in an unbeatable location near everything. The rooftop is also really nice - amazing views, food , area to chill by the pool, drinks and staff. FYI the pool is very shallow for ppl looking to fully take laps lol. The Staff at the front desk especially Ruben were amazing we felt so comfortable and taken care of. The breakfast was super impressive with a huge buffet and you could also order eggs fresh from open kitchen.

My only complaint is the shower head was not the best - ours was a little broken so was very low on the pole and we couldn’t push it up. Was a very minor detail tbh.

Loved the rooftop area with wonderful view, great breakfast buffet, helpful staff, very clean, great location. I was originally in a smaller, darker room with a window facing a tiny alley but I was able to move to a larger room overlooking the plaza - which I was really happy with (very spacious, nice lighting & decor, huge bathroom, nice nature light coming through the windows). The hotel was also able to arrange a transfer to and from the airport which I really appreciated.

I wish the hotel would have told me up front that they were hosting a private event and I would not have access to the beautiful rooftop on the second evening of my stay. The rooftop was my number one reason for staying here. They had me go to a sister hotel and use their pool but it wasn't as nice & the music was loud so I left shortly after arriving. My advice is to ask if they are hosting any events during your stay and how that will impact your access to what you paid for (use of the pool & rooftop) by booking here.

The view from the rooftop pool and the pool area itself is great. The pool is small and shallow, but still provides a refreshing dip which is very welcome in hot and humid Cartagena. The breakfast was plentiful, with lots of good options. The location is also excellent, inside the old city, close to plenty of sites, bars and restaurants, and close to the ports that provide access to the islands.

The room was small and dark.

Excelent location near main historic places, restaurants, bars. Very safe place. Very good breakfast: many regional fruits, several freshly made eggs. Confortablle bed and very good air condicioned. Very kind staff.

The hotel rented the pool area for a party and the guests were unable to use the area for an entire day. This could not happen.

Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were spacious (we had 2 suites), clean and well appointed -- although a little bit dark. Front desk staff was great.

The pool / rooftop is much smaller than the pictures lead you to believe. Cartegena is a loud vibrant city. The hotel has a great location, but that means you hear a lot of the noise / rooftop parties. They closed the pool for a day for a private party which is hard when you plan to use it, but after some insistence they let us use the pool at a sister hotel which was totally fine and a nice change of scenary.
