The location is excellent, with plenty of shopping and great restaurants nearby. The rooms are modern, stylish, and very comfortable. The bathroom felt like an oasis—beautifully designed and stocked with lovely amenities. The on-site restaurant is fantastic, and the rooftop is absolutely stunning. We had read in other reviews that noise might be an issue, so we requested a quiet room in advance. Thankfully, it was very peaceful for us. They even provide earplugs in the room, but we didn’t need them.

Breakfast is delicious, but can be a bit slow and it opens late for business travelers.

I recently stayed at Hotel El Zarzo and had an exceptional experience thanks to the outstanding service of Alexander at the reception desk. I wasn’t feeling well during my stay, and Alexander went above and beyond to help—he arranged for a doctor to see me in my room within just 20 minutes. His professionalism, politeness, and efficiency were truly impressive. He was not only kind and attentive but also extremely knowledgeable, which made a difficult situation much easier. El Zarzo is lucky to have someone like Alexander on their team.

I was able to hear some of music from the nightclub close by.

Tucked away on a quiet street, yet a short walk from the lively Parque Lleras area is this unbelievable hotel. Its architecture was absolutely stunning and is covered in beautiful greenery. The room was spacious with super high ceilings and adorned with wood paneling along some of the walls, a rustic concrete feel on the others that overall felt so elegant and in tune with nature. The shower was a rain shower which was amazing and felt so classy. Breakfast was fantastic and exactly what we needed to kickstart our days touring Medellin. It was served at their rooftop with great views and a ceiling that rolls open and closed. They provided Fresh juices and a delicious cappuccino. During our entire stay the staff was extremely attentive and serviceable. The restaurant on the lobby floor was an unbelievable dining experience and was so beautifully laid out. The hotel's central location in El Poblado meant we were able to walk to most places or take a very short uber ride. The surrounding area was beautiful also covered in tree canopies. Overall, this hotel was incredible, and will definitely be my go-to next time I visit Medellin and will be my only recommendation to any family and friends that find themselves in this beautiful city.

El Zarzo is absolutely beautiful—clean, modern, and welcoming. The staff was friendly from the moment we arrived, and the lobby smelled amazing. The rooftop is breathtaking, and breakfast there was delicious. We stayed in the deluxe suite and the bathroom was stunning. Dinner at Cocina 33 was a highlight—excellent food and outstanding service. The only downside was the noise at night—loud music from a nearby club and a strange sound like furniture being moved made it hard to sleep. Still, we really enjoyed our stay overall and would recommend it for the service and design.

Beautiful, modern hotel, with comfortable, well-appointed rooms! Location is also great, in the heart of El Poblado, and the staff were very helpful.

These were not dealbreakers but I just wanted to note: (1) accessibility from the street may be a challenge, including for those with heavy luggage, because you need to go up a short flight of stairs. The front desk staff always helped us, though, which we appreciated. (2) The day we had breakfast there, there was only one server, which meant she was a bit overwhelmed with the volume of people. I hope that's not the case normally.

Rooms, friendly staff, service and Location

While rooms were designer style, some extra small add-in’s (hooks, shelves) would have made stay more organized, especially for 2 persons in standard king room. Unfortunately, loud construction just adjacent to hotel property was very noisy. Also description should include that hotel is located in busy and lively part of Poblado neighbourhood, with loud music.

Dinner in the main restaurant was fantastic as well as the free breakfast. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great. It's a popular area with lots of nightlife but the street and location of the hotel was quiet.

Maybe I just got unlucky, but with just one elevator I had several long waits because the elevator was out of service for restocking of supplies and/or other hotel needs. I ended up just taking the stairs a couple of times since I was only on the 2nd floor. It would have been annoying had I been on an upper floor or if I had mobility issues. Again, it was probably just unlucky timing.

From the moment I checked in and throughout my stay everyone I interacted with so friendly and accommodating. The location was very convenient and anything I needed was within walking distance. The room was very clean, comfortable bed & water pressure was great too.

Bathroom shower was a little hard to access thru the toilet room, but the shower itself was great. There was some strange noise like metal grating on concrete in the evening and early am, not sure if it was upstairs or construction next door.

The place was luxurious and had a nice modern design, very clean and comfortable.

My reservation included breakfast, I wanted water instead of juice for my breakfast... apparently water was not included and had to be paid extra. Ridiculous.
