Food was overpriced and meh at best (as we expected; we have seen the steady increase in prices as we have been coming for over 20 years and own property in CR). The only food that we enjoyed was the Sunday breakfast.

Wifi didn’t reach our suite. Desk staff was defensive and blamed the provider. Nothing was offered a solution. Nothing was done for the massive amount of flies in the open air restaurant. I was personally just in CR in Feb and flies were taken care of without a problem (no with repellent/sprays). No deadbolt or latch for when you are in the unit. This issue was immediately resolved :) Loved that she didn’t make it OUR problem she just handled it. The sitting area stayed VERY hot in our suite.

The layout of the hotel is stunning. You feel like you're in a treehouse, in the best possible way, that magically opens up onto Playa Hermosa. It really is the perfect blend between privacy and a welcoming community space that captures the Pura Vida spirit. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, and really made an impression on our kids. We didn't eat often at the restaurant and bar because we preferred to explore nearby towns, but the restaurant is inviting and again, beautiful outdoor space.

We're not big seafood fans, so a few more options of non-seafood based dishes on the menu would be welcomed.

Great location right on the beach. Very family friendly, not overly crowded in the restaurant or the pool. Staff was very friendly, responsive, and accommodating.

Room service options were limited and you had to call to have your plates taken when you were done.

We had an oceanfront room with balcony which was great. While we like being on the ocean we’re not sun lovers per se so being in the shade but able to see the beach and ocean (through the trees) was nice. It also meant we didn’t need to use a beach chair very often (which were plentiful but could be busy). Staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. Food and beverage were both good, but a bit pricey. Appreciated the happy hour 1/2 price drinks.

The facility needs a few repairs (e.g., the curtain on one of our windows didn’t close; some of the cement steps on the staircases are crumbling).

We loved the location! The property is right on the beach yet has feel of being in a lush rainforest. There were a pair of monkeys that made an appearance in the trees every morning and every evening. We also loved the airy quality of the hotel, which includes the restaurant, reception and the rooms. The restaurant was my favorite of all the places we ate while in Costa Rica. A nice variety and consistently delicious! The stars of this hotel are the staff. We found them all to be friendly, helpful and most importantly, unrushed. We were sad to leave our new friends!

Beautiful resort, love the floor to ceiling class windows looking out to the beach. Love the day bed outside. Very friendly staff. Will recommend to all!

The bathroom by guest check in should be visually labeled for men or women. Only one door was open and there was no male/female sign so I thought it was mixed gender and I walked in on a man using the urinal. This should be addressed for safety and privacy concerns Mattress is too stiff. Outlets next to bed would be more convenient then plugging it in across the room

This hotel was the definition of a dreamy escape! They had everything we needed, standup paddle boarding, extremely knowledgeable english speaking friendly staff, and an amazing restaurant. We saw monkey's everyday! All of the rooms are nestled amongst the trees but the beach is only steps away - it is the perfect combination. We went offsite for dinner only one night because the restaurant was so good, we wanted to eat at the hotel! The sunsets were perfect. We also got massages from the hotel and they were out of this world - the best we've ever had (and we get many)!

We loved the monkeys but in the morning, they are loud. If you're serious about your sleep, it can be disruptive but it should be a special and unique experience!

We had a great time! The staff was so sweet and accommodating! The restaurant staff was beyond exceptional. The rooms were clean and the beach was beautiful! The beach is second to none, it was never super crowded and the temperature was perfect. We even got to see some eagle rays glide past us! The pool is great, perfect for kids.

The wifi was spotty at times in the room, but that just reminded me to get off my phone and get to the beach. There’s a little gap between the door and the floor so there were some bugs in the room, but that wasn’t a big deal.

Beautiful spot right on the beach with an open air restaurant and bar. Grounds were lush. Beach had very few people each day. The staff were incredibly friendly. Johnathan was so kind to our children at dinner and encouraged them to speak Spanish. Alexis greeted us every morning at breakfast and shared about their culture. Roy arranged some great tours for us. Jairo was the most kind and attentive person.

The elevator in our building did not work

The hotel was amazing. When we checked in, we were greeted with a delightful fruit drink before being shown our rooms. To say our rooms were spacious is an understatement. My husband and I had a garden view room, and it was huge: a large walk in shower, couch sofa, two queen beds, a deck, two tvs, fridge, coffee maker, etc. The location could not have been better. It was a five (or less) minute walk to the beach, a somewhat secluded bay, with gorgeous sunsets. The food at the hotel was excellent; we enjoyed breakfast and happy hour with a light supper almost every day we were there. Highly recommend.
