The room was a fantastic size - a family room with two king-size beds and a lovely bathroom with a shower and a bath - perfect for a family of four. There is a small fridge which is very helpful plus a large balcony which monkeys visit every morning play which our children loved. Breakfast was nice but we stayed 8 nights so became very samey after a few days. They could have varied it a little every other day, for example. The beach was a short walk through the undergrowth of the jungle which was nice. The hotel is on a huge, steep hill, which we wasn't a problem because we walked and the hotel offer a gold buggy every time you step out of your room or the restaurant to offer you a ride.

The restaurant food was great and reasonably priced. After a week's stay, we were a little sick of the menu but most guests only stay a few nights so I think this more our problem than an issue with the hotel. And again breakfast was the same every day which could have varied at least a little each day.

Great location. Easy to get to beaches and Manuel Antonio. We had a rental car and I would recommend that as short walks can be hilly, hot, and dangerous (narrow roads and some aggressive driving). Breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent. Location is amazing, wildlife on hotel grounds and around is amazing. Staff mostly excellent. Rooms were super comfy, balcony looking at forest canopy was outstanding. Saw titi and white faced monkeys every day. Saw macaws and toucans on grounds a couple times. Other gorgeous birds around as well. I would definitely recommend Shana, dinner was a little pricier than outside restaurants but food was great.

Breakfast was great each morning. All staff were friendly, attentive, kind and helpful. Hotel shuttle to airport safe, efficient and enjoyable! Hotel arranged safe taxis for us to local restaurants. The wildlife around the hotel was amazing to see. Saw sloths & monkeys from our balcony. Birds including a toucan from the pool area! Beach was lovely, path down to the beach was steep but beautiful. Very relaxing and beautiful to stay here. Evelyn was very helpful to speak on the phone to us prior to our visit and booking our shuttle and Ian helped with our EFrains tour booking to the park

Staff were very friendly, helpful and responded quickly to our needs such as room service, laundry, housekeeping. They were always friendly and helpful when booking our excursions and reliable transportation when we went off resort to explore. Food at the dining facility was very good so you do not have to leave the resort to have a good meal. We were able to see the white faced monkeys, toucans, macaws and sloths from our balcony. No need to go on a nature tour in Manuel Antonio since we were near by.

Nothing. We were in the rain forest next to the Pacific. Wear good boots when you go down to the beach. It can be a little slippery when it is raining.

We absolutely loved our stay at Shana By The Beach. In our opinion, the photos online don’t fully capture how beautiful the place truly is — the vibe is relaxed and cool, the views are stunning, the music sets the perfect mood, and the sunshine made everything even better. We would definitely recommend Shana to anyone looking for a stylish, laid-back escape with breathtaking surroundings

we did feel that the customer service during check-in could have been a bit more welcoming. When we first visited the property to check it out before making our booking, the reception we received was not as warm as we had hoped. Fortunately, the experience after that more than made up for it, and we had a wonderful time overall.

The facility was wonderful. In spite of the elevation and my trouble walking, the availability of a golf cart for getting to the different areas was absolutely appreciated.

It’s smaller size and tv channels but it’s not too important .If you have ocean view there is steep road when you go to restaurant and especially back,but there is guy with golf car waiting if you need ride back up .So that was appreciated.Some people complained about not enough towels.Low pressure in toilet but it works if used properly.

It was very nice, good food, love the adult only pool with view. Beach was a steep walk but we got to see monkeys there & very naughty monkeys at breakfast. Breakfast was tasty. Great location to explore the national park which was just 10 min drive. We had cocktails every day on happy hour which were well made. The beach was very rocky on one half which left a really small crowded area for swimming - not the best beach, but we enjoyed the pool a lot. We used taxis to get around in the evening as it’s a long steep walk into town.

The staff were incredibly friendly & helpful, the hotel was gorgeous and clean. Monkeys, sloths and other amazing wildlife could be viewed from the hotel and the secret beach connected to the hotel was out of a movie!

The location took us 4 hours to get to due to an accident on the highway. There is a large hill to walk to reception but they have a golf cart if you need assistance, the path to the beach is a little trickey to navigate especially in rainy season.

Breakfast was great everyday. White face monkeys were a common site, especially at breakfast. The dinners at the restaurant were top notch and reasonably priced for a resort. Our servers Carlos, Marcos, Francella and William were are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My wife is celiac and they went above and beyond to make sure her food was safe and delicious. Our room had a private pool with a beautiful view that my kids used every day. The beach was a five minute hike from the property, quiet and beautiful!
