There was plenty of parking at this hotel. The check-in staff was friendly and efficient. They gave us a map and lots of information about the town. They showed us their resident sloth, too! The parking lot is secured by a gate at night. We rented the large house for 4 nights. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with oil, spices, coffee, sugar, etc. It even had some sauces and a fresh bag of ice in the freezer. The mattresses were okay - enough to get a comfortable night’s sleep. There is plenty of counter space in the bathrooms. The hotel has fast free wifi. It’s also a short walk into town. We enjoyed sitting outside relaxing on the porch swings. The staff contacted us after the 3rd night asking if we needed any housekeeping. Despite some of the short comings, we really enjoyed this hotel. We were able to cook some of our own meals with the well equipped kitchen, enjoyed relaxing on our porch hammocks, liked being so close to the town center, and enjoyed being able to spread out in this huge house!

The area has very high winds causing the upstairs rooms to be very noisy. Without A/C, we wanted to open the windows at night but the winds and dogs made it hard to sleep. Not enough hot water for 2 people to shower back to back, The rooms didn’t have a place to put bags on (just a small night stand), so we ended up putting them on the other bed in the room. The outlets were on the walls, but not near the night stand. The power went out nightly due to the high winds - sometimes just a few minutes, but one night it was out for 4 hours. Each room has a flashlight.

I booked this hotel because of the reviews, and was skeptical because the price was excellent for Costa Rica. The property was so beautiful with lots of plants and flowers. Wildlife was abundant. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was very large for only two people and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was simple, but nutritious and tasty. Each room has their own breakfast table.

We could hear the wind gusts during the night, but it’s expected in Monteverde. I don’t think you can escape it. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs and you will be fine.

We enjoyed the breakfast included with our room. It was also set at convenient times for waiting to go out on the trails early morning. The room was clean and comfortable. Otherwise a great stay in a convenient location. Even got to enjoy a toucan making an appearance on the property. There was plenty of parking protected by a gate and even an area to enjoy the outside in the common areas.

The one downside that we experienced was that the walls are a bit thin if your room is sharing a wall with other guests. This was quite minor for the rest of the pluses.

The staff was amazing and super friendly, they communicated with me with quick response time through booking.com. They also booked all excursions and ensured we were picked up in a timely manner. Breakfast was great, and the system they used for seating was very helpful. Lastly, this place is in a great location near a few restaurants and great views.

The only thing is we had a couple of bugs but the hotel provided bug spray for us.

Staff were very welcoming and knowledgable about surrounds and tours assisting us greatly with getting around and seeing what we had hoped to visit. Joselyn and Erica were so lovely and kitchen staff also very friendly and attentive. There was a resident sloth in the garden which was a treat. The grounds were maintained beautifully with many butterflies. Flowers in room which was also a special touch. Rooms were large and very comfortable. We loved our stay and felt very welcomed. Thank you.

There are not enough wonderful things to say about this property! We rented the big house and it was great for our group of 10. The grounds are full of paths and flowers and butterflies and a sloth. Morning breakfast was filling and good for $6 per person. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with local recommendations. The house itself has so much room and a nice porch space to take in the amazing view and weather. It was a perfect home base!!

Great location, 5 7 minutes walk to the downtown area which has a couple of stores and several restaurants. The property has a nice garden. Location is approximately 20 and 25 minutes by car to monteverde and Santa Elena national parks respectively. The team was supportive in giving us late checkout for one of the booked rooms.

The breakfast spread is very limited and basic.

This is a beautiful hotel. Gardens are stunning. Breakfast was delicious. It’s on the edge of town but only a 10 minute walk there. We loved the resident sloth! The lady cooking the breakfast made us aware of this. You were so close to him! The reception staff were all very helpful. We used their laundry service. We also saw toucans from our patio. I would highly recommend this beautiful place.

I loved the house and the entire outdoor space. It was gorgeous!! I could have spent my days just sitting in the outdoor space. Lots of things within short walk of the building. Loved the screens on the windows so you could have the fresh air come through but not the bugs and critters. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! I would definitely stay again if I am ever back in the area.

Hotel is like a big green tropical garden, with lots of flowers , animals, birds , a wild slot ( who shows up regularly ) , rooms are cosy and bed and pillows were high quality . Staff is highly professional , breakfast is good and receptionist helped us organising trips and helped us choosing the right trip for our interrests. Reception also gave us precious help and solved a major problem where spanish speaking was needed. We highly recommend this place .
