We booked two rooms for me and my sister's family. It's a gorgeous little hotel in the middle of the old town with everything in central Prague within walking distance. Other cool neighborhoods like Karlin and Holesovice are easily reachable by tram. What I appreciated most was the outstanding hospitality and kindness of the staff. Everyone got a bottle of welcome wine! The staff, especially Daria, went above and beyond to accommodate our every request, including a late check out at 4 PM, and a quick room change (I requested a room with less outdoor noise). They ensured we were welcome and comfortable and quickly worked on our requests. The views outside the rooms were truly spectacular. The breakfast was lovely. Thanks again for your outstanding service.

If you like me prefer to keep your windows open at night, you could ask for a room facing the square and not the road. It's less noisy. But all the rooms are very well equipped with noise-canceling windows so that's not a problem for most people.

This was the most wonderful find in all of prague. From the moment I walked through the door Elizabeth at the front greeted me.She was extremely helpful as was diana in making sure my stay was perfect. They were there with suggestions and ideas for what to do.They helped me find restaurants and concerts. The staff is instantly friendly. And you feel like you're part of a family. This is the place to stay in prague. The breakfast is marvelous.Let me serve it till 11 and if you're anything like me.I like to get up a little later , ha ha. The array of cookies and cakes and jellies , and all of the breakfast items , along with coffee and even percco! Totally worth starting your day off with their breakfast and then going on your outing. I will be back and I will stay here. They are welcoming to everyone from every walk. Will feel comfortable and come out of there with new friand wonderful memories. Bravo also to the wonderful Maid's and kitchen staff. I miss everyone already And this beautiful old world property with its charm I'm character from another time.

There wasn't anything I didn't like about this hotelorange staff.Everyone was gracious.Unkind, and it was perfectly located to everything. You're five minutes from everywhere. You can. Walk all over the old town from here. Forego, spending a fortune.Stay here this way you'll be able to really see the city and meet the people. Much of the staff that works there is from there , which is a testament to prague and also to the beautiful josephine hotel.

1. The location!!! It's a little historic square in the heart of old Prague,1 minute's walk from the astronomical clock. 2. The room is huuuuge!!! With a lot of furniture, a coffee corner with machine (capsules are "on the house"!). 3. Perfect and reach breakfast served like in moves! 4. Very friendly staff.

1. The elevator is microscopic, for 1 average person and 1 suitcase. Or for one above the average person. A bit problematic. 2. Our room was between floors and there was a stair with several steps without an elevator. But the hotel staff helped us with the suitcases.

From the moment we arrived at Josephine Old Town Square Hotel until the day we checked out, our experience was nothing short of excellent. The true shining stars were the staff, especially Elizabeth, Diana, the other receptionist, and the wonderful housekeepers. They were warm, friendly, and always ready to help, consistently checking in to see if we needed anything. Their dedication to ensuring we had a comfortable stay was truly impressive. For example, I requested extra pillows, and they were already on the bed when we checked in—a testament to the attentive service we received throughout our stay. The housekeepers were particularly observant, paying attention to small details that made a big difference. When I purchased still mineral water, they replenished the complimentary water bottles with still water, and when I bought sparkling, they switched to sparkling. This thoughtful consideration was a delightful surprise that made us feel truly cared for. The location of the hotel couldn’t be more perfect. It’s in the heart of everything, making it incredibly convenient to explore Prague. The added bonus of discount vouchers for various tourist attractions was a great touch. The hotel itself was comfortable, well-equipped with all the basic amenities, and surprisingly spacious, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the city. However, there are a few areas where the hotel management could improve. Firstly, blackout curtains would be a valuable addition, as the room gets very bright as soon as the sun rises. Secondly, it would be much more convenient to have power sockets next to the bed for charging phones, instead of only two sockets in the room. Finally, better soundproofing is needed—the walls are paper thin, and we could hear conversations and even the smallest sounds from neighboring rooms. This also made it challenging for the housekeepers, who seemed to tip toe around to clean quietly in order to avoid disturbing guests.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a historic building, rooms are set around a lovely little courtyard with chairs and tables. The staff were very friendly, polite and attentive. The breakfast was amazing, a buffet with every food imaginable, very good quality. The location was very central, close to the Old Town Square - this was very convenient, though the area is very busy and noisy (to be expected). However, the sound-proofing between the room and the outside was truly excellent - there was a nightclub across the street from our room, and big crowds of people, but inside the room was almost completely quiet, no disturbance at all!

Although the soundsproofing from outside was very good, it was no so good between the rooms unfortunately. One night there was a group of guests in the rooms next door talking and shouting loudly for a long time in the middle of the night. However, this was not the fault of the hotel and could have happened anywhere. When I mentioned this to staff the next day, they were very apologetic and spoke to the guests who had been noisy, and we had no more problems, so we felt the hotel dealt with this very well.

I have waited to write this review until I had time to do it proper justice and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do that. Our stay at the sweet Josephine Hotel was among the best hotel stays we have ever had, and likely ever will have. Prague is, itself, such a magical city and to be staying right on the edge of Old Town was amazing. To actually be staying in a piece of that history was even more amazing. Josephine Hotel is situated in a little old courtyard area that sides onto a key landmark of Old Town (Tyn Church : early 13th century). To look out of our window at the gothic trim on the side of this was priceless and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed sitting out on the terrace having a coffee. The room itself was quite incredible with two king beds, a pullout sofa a vaulted ceiling and full sized chandelier! The breakfast buffet was reminiscent of a quaint cafe with servers bringing specialized coffee orders (no big ol' carafe of drip) to the table and a broad selection of hot and cold items, pastries, specialty juices (try the blueberry!) etc. They even provided lovely gluten free bread, upon request, which was so appreciated by the member of our party with Celiac Disease. When I am booking travel arrangements I tend to get analysis paralysis and look at a hundred properties trying to find the best combination of location, price, amenities, and overall value. Based on our experience I'd recommend that you cease your hunt and book here now if you can!

The only complaint was that we had to leave. We will be back here, without question or hesitation, when we next return to Prague!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel U Lilie Josephine in Prague. The hotel is beautifully designed, very comfortable, and perfectly located in the heart of the city. We would especially like to thank Daria, who was absolutely lovely, professional, and kind – both during check-in and check-out. She welcomed us with a smile, took care of every detail, and made both our arrival and departure especially pleasant. Highly recommended, and we’d be happy to return!

The location of the ancient building of the hotel was perfect:just the opposite of the clock tower, and still it was very quiet in the mornings and evenings. The staff of the hotel was definitely exceptionally well chosen:not only all the girls look like the top models, they are very gentle, friendly,,professional and helpful. We would like to mention the most outstanding Diana, the young girl at the reception and Maria, the girl ,who meets you in the dining room They made our stay in this cosy hotel even more pleasant,we always felt the most welcomed. The most recommended place to stay in Prague. We will definitely stay there at our next visit to Prague.

I would have improved the ventilation in the toilet and replace the shower equipment to the more modern and larger one.

Very central location so easy to walk everywhere and felt very safe even late at night. At breakfast there was an excellent choice of foods which were well set out and replenished frequently. Staff were all lovely and helpful particularly Elizabeth and Diana. Good sized bathroom with selection of nice toiletries. Welcome bottle of wine on arrival and complementary bottles of water daily which were much appreciated. Excellent value for money and would be pleased to recommend this hotel. It is the small touches like the water (and good quality toilet paper!) which make this hotel stand out when making a choice.

Nothing to dislike. Was a bit noisy outside on the Friday/Saturday nights ( not the fault of the hotel) but other reviewers had mentioned this and with the hotel being so central it was expected and earplugs are provided.

Great location. In an old building restored. Very nice and helpful staff. Outstanding and excellent breakfast. Walk everywhere. Restaurants, as well as all the sights, are just a walk away.

Our room layout was a bit odd. We had two big wooden pillars in the middle. You have to be careful, else you might bump into it. Sofa was unusable. It had the springs poking you when you sit on it. Needs to be replaced. The bar right next door is very loud until 1am or longer. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to make a note. Given the central location of the hotel, this is to be expected.
