The hotel is only steps from the train station. The beds are simple but comfortable, a fact which escapes most of us in our choices. The room is a perfect size for a traveller's needs, a fact which escapes most of us in our choices. Windows let in natural light that fills the room with views to the sky, the spires and the greenery to the far horizon. The trains rumble past, oversized with oversized announcements that fill the surrounding streets, emergency vehicles that forget they have warning lights blare noisily and alarm other vehicles but there is quiet within the room. The excellent documentaries on TV may take some of your time but you are in the best place to discover the city, past the Miles van der Rohe museum and the Suermondt- Ludwig museum to the Charlemagne centre and the International newspaper museum, stopping for snacks along the way! Oh! The reception staff? They speak in smiles and lots of languages as do the professional cleaning staff members.

Food and drinks not wrapped in plastic would be great, bedlinen and towels to not be white will cost our earth a lot less, wooden beds and shelves last as long as metal, free bike loans and signs that invite young and old to take the stairs would be great. Also, soap dispensers with a simple press mechanism from the top will mean reduced and more hygienic use. The cobbled streets need passages for wheelchairs. Recycling bins can always increase throughout the city. Most of all, greenery must flourish in every possible place and the street art be supported so that it becomes something that warms hearts. The city must make paths for e skateboards far from the racing metal cages to protect the unprotected.

The location closed to the station is excellent but the station appears unconcerned about the volume of announcements. Energy is wasted just as it is by emergency vehicles racing all over Europe, unaware that the warning lights are seen by all drivers, that raising alarms with sounds is a counter measure that should be used minimally. The rooms are spacious to meet all travellers' needs. The hot showers and hot water to drink are great. The breakfasts are generous as are the staff. There is one surprising bonus - the panoramic views of the sky over the city with the spires of the medieval city visible on the horizon.

A sign inviting people to use the stairs would be a plus! Plastic free snacks would be fantastic! Fruit! More books and cushions! Living plants and better tended garden? Future hotels must be built without careless use of concrete. Then the corridors will be limited and all guests, including children will race!

Aachen has a rich heritage with treasures that span centuries. The modern age, however has meant the upheaval of much material to make architectural statements with public spaces such as stations, plazas and civic monuments that are grand, not human sized for efficiency and quiet purpose. All over Europe, the suburbs continue to enjoy much green cover.

There are some wonderful tall trees across the city but this green must spread out for the next generation with lessons from Belgium and other neighbours regards natural footpaths and woods.

This is 3rd stay at this property, love the location, the use of the bar and left luggage facilities, overall the room is good, staff as always are excellent extremely helpful and always have a smile , wouldn’t hesitate in booking again on next visit.

Just a few little things that would improve the stay. Better quality sheets on the bed, more coat hangers in the room ( we had 3) and as always a kettle and cups to make a hot drink especially in the cold winter months. Nothing major but the above would it a better experience to stay.

Accessibility. The space. The room.

The reliance on vending machines, which appear to have taken money but not provided the items. Also, when we asked about parking, we were not offered a space, only told we had to pay outside. When we realised it was a maximum of an hour, after paying, we asked about parking at the hostel, as it had been mentioned on Booking, & he told us we could park there, & so we arranged it. It would have been nice to have been told in the first instance, as I received a fine for parking at the back, & cannot pay it on an English bank transaction. If we'd been told we could park at the hostel in the first place, we wouldn't have received the finem

The location is excellent, right next to the rail station. My room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed and immaculate bathroom. It was no frills, but a very high standard of no frills! The public areas of the hotel, although somewhat institutional and spartan, are perfectly functional. Breakfast was of good quality - a typical German breakfast. Boiling water for tea ticked an important box. There was nothing to complain about - though I was looking for things. It's a basic yet clean and comfortable hotel/hostel that does what it claims to do. I would stay again.

The hostel is in a very convenient location which means you can walk to many areas in Aachen. The train station is nearby and the trains can be heard from the rooms, which we enjoyed! The bunk beds were fine with an individual reading light and USB charging socket.

The room became very hot during the day and the windows don't open very wide to allow it to cool down. You need to pay extra for a towel. There was a long queue when we arrived at 3pm, but there was only one person at reception. We asked for a parking space before we arrived, but there wasn't one available when we turned up.

It's perfect. I mean with the price. The place is also near train station. I can just walk to the train station and start going places in less then an hour. Cologne, Düsseldorf, Duisburg even Maastrict. I got food just in front of the train station. Döner (It's not the only place to get food, but I have no choice with my poor-ass and want to spare money for other things that I want to buy) The receptionist was also so nice.

Well Idk. There is this plus and minus about being near the central station. I could hear the train and also the announcements real good. It was like I was there. In the station. I still could sleep just fine tho. Not a big deal.

The friendly and helpful staff made the check-in process super easy. The bunk beds were generously sized and the bedding provided very clean. There is a bar conveniently located at the entrance on the ground floor where live entertainment was provided. Great atmosphere. Maybe it was just my luck but the guests that night were well behaved as well, no noises or intrusions which made for a calm night. Would stay again, for sure.
