I strongly dislike the terms and conditions of booking. As a member of Genius Level 3, I received a reasonable discount, I made a booking with an option of resignation on the arrival day and chose to pay at the hotel when I arrived. A few days later, I saw on my bank account that the payment had been made, and the hotel replied, "Conditions have changed because the price is very good." If conditions change, I usually resign. Contract is contract. Achat does not comply with the contract, and I must check if it is not against the law in Germany. In Poland, it would. Be aware!

This was above expectations having stayed at other Achat Hotels. It was really nice and freshly decorated and the room and bed were just great. Since I came in late in the evening by train it was fantastic to just have to walk across the road from the Hbf to already be there. Next day I walked in to the Innenstadt and looked at all the obvious historical squares. It was just a 1 km walk with a very pleasant park for the first bit of the trip. I didnt have breakfast because I knew I was going out, so cant comment. Staff both evening and morning were very nice an friendly which added to the pleasure.

A kettle with a bit of tea and coffee in the room was missing.Recommended

The hotel is just across the central train station and the public transport hub (tram and bus). And that is an excellent starting point for exploring the wonderful city. The room was as expected with the usual contents - A/C, TV, small fridge. Pretty clean, and there's nothing to complain about. It would be nice to have a water heater for making coffee. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was amicable. Wifi was amazing.

Nothing to complain about. My room had a view on the interior terrace with a water fountain - which was not so great. Luckily for me, the terrace closes every night relatively early, and the guest was not too loud. Also, the water fountain switches off every night. Yeah, now I also have to say that the bed was probably the worst part - it is small, and the mattress is very thin.

Parking was secure and underground, with easy access to the hotel. We asked for a quiet room and had a very long walk from the car park to our room on the other side of the building, which has a courtyard in the middle. It's possible to walk into town. The main railway station is very close, separated only by road and tram routes. Other people have commented on the traffic noise, which is why we asked for a quiet room. Two supermarkets are within close walking distance. All the staff we met were pleasant.

Room service is only by request. The shower was in the bath. There was a pedestal fan for cooling but it was very noisy. Luckily we managed to do without it but any warmer and we would have had to use it. The choice of television channels was not very good for such a large, conveniently placed hotel. The courtyard in the centre of the building had several noisy groups at times so our room wasn't as quiet as we'd hoped. The noise was loud talk and laughter, so nothing to worry about.

A large hotel opposite the main station so ideal for the train or in our case excellent parking for the car. The hotel had a magnificent breakfast and close walking distance to the city centre which was a delight as were the sites. Dinner was great at a nearby restaurant specialising in potato cuisine. The walk home was very safe and in one street (Adolph St) past elegant homes. Our hotel room was perfect and the staff especially the receptionist was helpful and pleasant.

Moving luggage to/from the hotel to the car park back of the Hotel was a little difficult, maybe maintain a better track.

When I first entered the room, I couldn't find a water heater to make coffee. Then I went to the receptionist to bring this up, and I was lent the water heater. Thank you very much."

It would be better if the room was equipped with tea, coffee, sugar, and a water heater.

The ambience and the location are of course, the deal breakers. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I had to extend my stay, and it was a hassle-free affair to deal with.

Good hotel just opposite of the main station. We stayed for one night and found the rooms quite clean and also not loud (as opposed to some reviews).

Room smelled a bit like someone had smoked there before

Convenient location opposite the station. Very pleasant room. Very helpful and courteous staff.

Despite booking for two people well in advance, the room was prepared for a single person; one hand towel, one bath towel, one duvet. The member of staff on reception responded immediately, though, so no problem.

Perfect location as I had two one-night stays there this week in transit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and excellent breakfast.

The hotel needs a new computer for guest use. Even a very helpful staff member could not get it to work properly. I was helped by them using another one for me. I am concerned about only cleaning a room when asked. What happens if a lone traveller falls coming out of the shower and is badly injured or has a heart attack. They could go days without being found and then possibly too late.
