There’s no AC in the room They charge us additional cost 6€ while checking out telling us it’s a Tax for the government! There’s no Tea or coffee in the rooms and I asked for some tee at night but the Receptionist told me I have to pay for it anyway. 😅 The open buffet has no varieties, I had to ask them to cook me some Eggs for the breakfast so they can provide it. Eggs and some other food are not available for everyone on the buffet, you just have to ask for it.

The reception and breakfast staff were all very friendly and acommadating. Immediately after checking in, my wife walked in with our baby and the lady at the front desk offered us a crib free of charge (we sometimes just have the baby in the bed with us), the crib was promptly delivered and set up in our room. The [included] breakfast is great with a variety of meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, breads, yogurts, ect, and the staff was great as well, bringing us coffee & cooked eggs. Our baby made a mess and spilled on the table, but the kind lady couldn't care less, she just shrugged it off with a wave of her hand. There is a sauna, indoor swimming pool, and free parking in front of and in a lot somewhere behind the property. It's an easy 5 minute walk into town with plenty of grocery stores and restaurants everywhere.

The room was a bit outdated (CRT TV!), but it suited us just fine (and there aren't exactly new state-of-the-art hotels in Garmisch)

If you're expecting a five-star luxury hotel, this might not be it, but if you want real hospitality in action, keep on reading! What Wittelsbacher Hotel may lack in high-end decor, it more than makes up for in value, warmth, and excellent customer service. Frau Angela was super friendly and helpful, always ensuring we had all the information we needed to make the most of our stay. At breakfast, Frau Gada and her colleague greeted us with genuine smiles and were quick with our much-needed morning coffees & teas. The breakfast itself was just right, a nice continental selection as well as a warm breakfast. The wellness area is a lovely bonus. It includes a clean swimming pool, a proper 85°C sauna, and a brand-new infrared cabin perfect for unwinding after a long day of hiking. Another big plus: the hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the train station and you receive a complimentary city travel card.. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby. For the price, this hotel delivers far more than expected. I’d happily choose this authentic, comfortable experience over a five-star hotel any day.

If you are looking for modern aesthetics, it might not be the place for you.

Included breakfast buffet was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean, high-quality and luxurious.

While the hotel is high-quality, luxurious and well-made, it gave the impression that it had been out of use for some years. Some parts of the wellness are in disrepair, some nooks and crannies seem to not have been cleaned for years. Maybe there is insufficient staff, or they are slowly winding down operations, it was unclear to us. Some loose and unbroken tiles, some windows haven't been washed for years. It seems there is not enough budget for cleaning and repairing stuff, while clearly at some point someone put a LOT of money in creating this hotel, and did it quite well. It's a bit of a mystery!

Breakfast was awesome. Room was comfortable. View was beautiful.

No air-conditioning. No fan. They had the towel warmer in the bathroom turned up really hot and it heated up the entire room, not just the bathroom. When I asked if it could be turned off, I was told no. I would prefer to have a top sheet on the bed so if the comforter makes you too hot you still have something to cover up with.. OH, and the room only had a bathtub, no stand up shower!!

Fantastic hotel. One of the best I've been to. Friendly service, both upon arrival and at breakfast. The room was not spacious, but very well laid out, I especially liked the built-in sofa bed with a shelf along the entire length, comfortable. The view from the balcony to the mountains in the distance was great! Enjoy! The spa area was open until 8PM, but the pool could also be used at other times. It was very nice, because we often came back later from trips.

Everything was ok. Only the hairdryer was bad, it almost didn't work.

I loved the location as it very central and walkable to everything around and the hotel also is cute. The view from my room was just out of the world. Loved it. I came here with not much expectation and was surprised with the view. I think it’s great that’s why I’m extending my stay here. I’m just wondering why it’s so quiet actually. It’s cute that all the staff seems to be senior citizens in their 70s and even 80s and are working even at this age, unlike what I’ve seen in India. I will post pics on my Instagram @namionthemove

One thing I can’t find is that there’s no AC in the room. Right now it’s ok but in the summer it may be required. Also there is hardly any staff around just one at the reception. But that’s how it is in most European countries

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time during our stay at Wittelsbacher Hof. Everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel's central location, just a 5-minute walk from the railway station, was incredibly convenient for us as we arrived by train. The room was not only spacious but also had a large and comfortable bed. One of the highlights for us was the sauna and swimming pool, which provided a perfect way to relax after a day of skiing. The breakfast selection was outstanding, with a wide variety of bread, fruits, yogurts, cheese, ham, and more. Additionally, we appreciated the option to order a breakfast dish of our choice. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The check-in process was quick. Based on this wonderful experience, we are already planning our next visit to Garmisch and Wittelsbacher Hof.

Breakfast was outstanding with a variety of food selections, and the service was very attentive, and welcoming, and friendly. The room was very clean, and attended to very well, and was very comfortable to relax in, and unwind. The location was very near the public transportation, which was a bonus, and a voucher for free local bus rides for the duration of my stay was included, which was an additional bonus!

The weather! The cloud cover didn't allow me to make it up to Zugspitze, but that is not the fault of the hotel. At least the hotel lobby had a TV monitor of the mountain top, to let the quests know what the conditions were before heading out. Otherwise, the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Great Job!

For 82eur per night I had excellent breakfast and mini SPA with very fine sauna and super small yet fine swimming pool. Plus incredible view of maintains from my room. Yes it is not the best hotel out there but it has charm and has at this price awesome value to offer. By the way it is close to the center and train station. It also has something special attracting interesting people. If you book keep your expectations in line with the price.

I would have hoped to get the tourist card for free buses upon arrival as I would have saved 10eur in getting to Eibsee. Coffee and scramble eggs could be refined.
