While a "chain", this place has a really great vibe. From the lobby to the staff and our rooms it didn't seem too 'big city'. I will say that Jan, the bartender was the highlight of our stay. This guy could be a professional tour guide in Hamburg (and even had Berlin guidance!) The bar was on point, decent snacks even into the late evening! The rooms well appointed and fun decor and clean. Easy to use all around. The location was excellent for walking everywhere. We never used public transportation because it was so easy to walk everywhere. Also go on a 2 hour "smaller boat" ride as soon as you can after you arrive to acclimate to sights! Oh and the parking garage is below the hotel and is connected for easy in and out if you have a car!!

Our lil fridge didn't work. No one knew how to rectify this in either of the rooms we had booked. Besides that everything was really perfect!

Bed was very comfortable, the room and hotel was exceptionally quiet of an evening (even during Christmas market season!), breakfast was definitely worth paying for - great choice of hot and cold food and drinks, and served from 6am - 10.30am weekdays. There aren't really any other local options to get breakfast. Bar was friendly and welcoming and very popular with hotel residents, which I liked.

We were on the 4th floor and the unlocked hotel WiFi network wasn't even visible in our room. I had a work Teams call during my stay so needed WiFi - I asked at Reception and they (reluctantly) gave me the password to another secure hotel network... definitely worth bearing in mind, although I feel I shouldn't have needed to ask.

Arcotel Onyx is an excellent hotel at the start of the Reeperbahn. You can walk into the street and surroundings instantly, while the noise and nuisance (that an area like this simply gives) is not close nor annoying. It has an nice lounge / bar and the rooms are comfortable. The beds are great. The hotel is attached to the beautifully designed 'Tanzende Turme', where the breakfast is served. Internet / wifi is available, not always that strong. If you like comfort and want to be close to an entertainment / nightlife area, this is a good place to stay. The Hotel is on walking distance from the Subway Station St Pauli from which you can go anywhere quickly. Hamburg is a fascinating city. Day tickets go for 7.50 E pp and can be bought at dedicated machines.

The desk personnel we found not very professional, friendly and helpful. Simple questions on what kind of Metro / Bus tickets to buy and where, or how best to do a Harbor tour were not so well answered. We found out ourselves. Note: at Breakfast the personnel was very kind and friendly.

Fantastic location, right at the start of the lively part of the Reeperbahn. The room was really quiet, though and it was spacious. Also very clean. Separate shower and toilet, which was great and nice bar on the ground floor. Perfect for exploring Hamburg and enjoying the Reeperbahn nightlife. Convenient parking right below the building.

We were a couple and they gave us two separate duvets instead of one. The duvets were way too hot for the Summer ( during the time we were there the weather was in the high 20s) and they didn’t have a normal quilt or cover to replace the duvets, so sleep wasn’t as good as it could have been. Room cleaning was very basic and they didn’t replace our towels. No amenities whatsoever - no coffee, no tea, no water.

We had a large room (3 friends sharing) Plenty of space for us, spare sofa bed made up and was comfortable to sleep on. We arrived early and it was no problem to leave our bags there while we went out for walk. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room (coffee pods were great and delicious). Love that the toilet is separate to the bathroom. Didn't get to use the hotel bar etc but it looked very nice and the whole vibe of the hotel was great. Will definitely stay there again when back in Hamburg

Great location, staff and facilities. Perfectly placed to explore the Reeperbahn, St Pauli and the Harbour with easy, nearby transport links. Staff were wonderful, warm and engaging on arrival and throughout, taking time to personally welcome me, offer local knowledge and recommendations and elevate the check in experience. Room and facilities are great, comfortable and modern and breakfast was spot on with a wide and tasty selection.

we booked a junior suite and the room was on the 7th floor with a brilliant view, the porthole windows are great to sit next to. The hotel has a close proximity to the Harbour, Portuguese quater and the Lion King shuttle, if that is what you are looking for.

Breakfast was good, not amazing for the money, but still a big selection including vegan options. Parking is separate and you have to pay full price per day in the park house. I would expect a discounted rate for parking in a park house that the hotel is sitting on. Even in Paris the hotels have partnerships with the park houses where you can receive substantial discounts.

location was in our acceptable area so that we can commute in 30minutes to our clients. The night life is full of varaiety as you wish. The room qualities are beyond our image. The breakfast was also good quality. I was lead to book this hotel through booking com evaluation score and the price. Me and my collaqgue are very satisfied with staying in this hotel. I can recommend to people who can accept 20 minutes metro ride to the specific area in th city.

Hamburg is spread out and finding the right hotel is a bit of a challenge. We wanted to be close enough to the action to enjoy where we were staying, but not so close that the noise and crowds became a problem. The ACOTEL Onyx was spot on. Positioned on the Reeperbahn right next to a railway station, but few blocks walk to the real hullabaloo of St Pauli. The position also means it’s close to the Langdungsbrucken wharves for boat tours etc. Add to that the comfortable, well presented rooms and you are on a winner here.

We really liked this joint. The only downside was that name remind’s us of a friend’s nutso dog.

I like everything about this hotel. It's in a great location (1 minute to the metro station, less than 10 minutes walk to the harbor, 15-20 minutes walk to the city main center), and there is a garage just near the hotel with an elevator to the rooms (22€ per day). The staff is very kind and helpful. The rooms have comfortable beds, and the mini bar in the rooms offers coffee, juices, and beer for free (we have a junior suite reserved). Great experience, in every sense.
