Our stay at the Pyjama Park was great from start to finish. We arrived a bit early but were able to check in nonetheless. We even git upgraded for free, which was an amazing surprise. The bedroom and the bathroom were big and clean and super comfortable. We had a great view from our room over the Reeperbahn. The location itself was brilliant. Just a short walk from the harbour area but also within walking distance to the city centre and the 'Schanzenviertel'. The common area was also great and we enjoyed every part of our stay a lot. The staff gives you plenty of information and I really like their efforts to help protect the environment. I would highly recommend this place, and I will be staying here again during my next visit to Hamburg.

The location is great for those who want to be in the heart of the action :) It is smack dab in the heart of the red light distract, the entrance is in between a bar and a sex shop…not kidding. You have to be ok with the scene and the odd homeless person, but it is safe and a great spot to walk to the town center, the St. Pauli football stadium, the fair grounds, the Landungsbrücken, congress center and the Michael Jackson musical is right across the street as are variety shows, some cool bars and a couple clubs in the district. Hooters with the best wings in town is at the other end of the strip and Cuneo, Germany‘s oldest and first Italian restaurant is a 5 min walk. The place itself is very clean, furniture is modern, rustic and practical and bathrooms are clean with nice towels and even amenities (shower gel/ shampoo, handsoap). Beds are comfy with nice sheets. WiFi is great and you can log into your Netflix to watch movies on a smart flat screen tv. I have come with my son and also with a friend. We never had breakfast, but the buffet looks and smells great with a good selection. Dining room and public spaces by the reception are bright and airy and great for remote work. There’s no bar but a well stocked fridge at the reception and the public spaces are nice to hang out in the evenings with a drink for a chat. In the summer, there’s a small roof terrace to sit outside in the backyard. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating, never a grim face and always ready to help. I have stayed several times,because the rates are great for a metropolis like Hamburg and as a native Hamburger with the clubs being my old hang outs in the 80s I feel right at home. Even though it’s called ‘hostel’ it is so much more than that compared to some places I have stayed all over Europe. It sets a high bar for hostel standards :) it’s a great and fun place!

For me there’s just one negative point to mention - although it doesn’t bother me: there’s no elevator. You enter at street level and have to walk up a stair case to get to reception. The rooms are also located on several levels which you reach by a system of stairwells in the back of the house, as they have combined two buildings. To me, it adds to the charm and I don’t need the elevator muzak, but you have to be able to use your faculties :)

loctaed in a relatively quiet part of Reeperbahn. On a monday night some loud music was played around but the windows are very good sound proof, I heard only 10 % of noise. Also the hotel is very thoughtful to provide bunches of ear plus in the room. everything in the room is very clean, love it ! Tim, the receptionist is very friendly and helpful ! check in process is quick ,smooth, uncomplicated. very modern and chic hotel !

no lift ! it would be very difficult for those who have bulky / heavy luggages to climb steep narrow stairs. Also design of the floors are bit weird, floors / rooms are a bit hard to find..... curtains can't cover 100% light

After reading about the noise, I was really worried, but it was absolutely quiet. However, our room faced the courtyard and was on a high floor. Thoughtfully, earplugs were provided in the room. The bedding, bathroom, and toilet were clean. It's a 15-minute walk to the promenade. The building has no elevator, and the stairs are a steep spiral—if you have difficulty climbing stairs, mention this when booking.

The room is a bit small, and to reach the coat hanger, you need to walk across the freshly made bed. It would be cramped with suitcases, but with backpacks and just for one night, it's perfectly fine. There is no kettle available for general use.

This was the perfect overnight experience - a clean, cozy, centrally located and tastefully interior decorated hotel/hostel that makes you look forward to come back "home" after your city excursions. Plenty of space in the family dorm room, but also in the comfortable public areas. Really friendly staff, and a very descent looking breakfast, although we didn't try it. It's definitely down on our come back to next time we find ourselves in Hamburg, and a place I'd choose to stay even for a longer stay!

We missed a place to easily fill up out water bottles and wash out our own dishes. We had to kindly ask the kitchen staff to fill them up for us, which felt a little awkward!

Nice cozy room, good heating, good shower, comfortable bed. Staff was very nice and helpful. We only stayed a night but wish we could have more time. We will return .

The stairs are a little squeaky and can disturb at night a little. Stupid guests being loud when coming to their room is not the hostel’s fault, I only say it for people To be reminded that behind closed doors might be and probably are other guests not interested in others screaming. Stay home if you don’t know how to behave.

Very central location, just above the bars and the pubs of the Reeperbahn street, and 5 mins walking from the St Pauli Piers. Close to Sbahn and Ubahn. The hostel is clean and well organised.

The bathroom is literally inside the room (the sink is among the beds), and the toilet and the shower are little niches (with door). So the level of privacy and the available space to move around and to change yourself is quite limited.

I was a little worried after reading multiple reviews mentioning the noise at night, but decided to give it a try anyway, because I just needed a place to stay before an early flight and the rates looked great. In the end, it was utterly quiet - but I stayed on a Tuesday and my room had a window to the back. It's well connected via public transport and centrally located in Hamburg. All members of staff I encountered were really nice. Considering the location within Hamburg and the fact that this is a big city, it's very cheap for a single room with private bathroom. Everything was clean, my bed was comfortable and they even provide toiletries. I had a great (even if very short stay) and would book a room here again in the future.

Just something to be aware of: there are a lot of stairs in the property. I didn't have a problem with that, but if you have mobility issues maybe ask when booking which floor your room is located on.

The tiny double room was small but pretty functional and equipped with super comfortable beds!! The personnel was friendly and they let us park our luggage in the reception after our checkout for a couple of hours to keep on sightseeing before our departure from the city.

The staircase is very narrow, and some rooms are in the 4th floor, which might be problematic for big suitcases. We were backpacking so we didn't have any issue with that.

The location is very good, with easy access to public transport and tourist attractions. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable for sleep. The staff were polite and helpful, available 24/7, which is a great convenience.

There are a lot of pubs around the hotel, which feels unsafe when walking outside until the night. The room is very small, making it challenging to find space for our belongings, though for one night it was bearable. Also the narrow spiral staircases were difficult to climb.
