Especially good are the following when considered a 2 star which makes clear prior to booking the features it does not gave. The location on the quiet edge of the old town within 10 mins walk of the centre. Buffet breakfast has varied and ample choices. They made clear that the lifts at the time of stay were getting refurbished with 1 out of the 2 out of Commission during prior communication and also clearly noted in the hotel showing good communication. Underground car park access communication answered promptly ahead of travel noting you can access it before check-in giving the staff the ticket during check-in. 50 spaces for most of the stay was ample until the end of the stay when it got very busy.

Only issue with underground car park was that exact procedures for leaving could do with improvement. Additional visitor attraction literature would be better as they had limited info

Great hotel for bike tourers with very comfortable air conditioned room and secure garage parking for bikes. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel advised us prior to arrival of construction work and only 1 lift working, however this proved to be no issue at all. Great location for walking into Aldstadt. We chose to have breakfast, which was a bit pricey at €24 each, however we enjoyed a full and varied choice. Close to REWE supermarket to stock up for following day travels. Definitely recommend to cycling people

We enjoy staying at Ibis and this location met our expectations. The room was a nice size for two people. The bathroom is small but the shower was hot with good water pressure. The hotel is a short walk from everything we had come to see in Mainz, including the Rhein River, old town, and train station. The staff was very helpful and spoke good English.

One of the elevators was being replaced but the hotel had let us know prior to arriving. We never had to wait for long periods for the working elevator to arrive.

the location was excellent for me; staff was VERY friendly, helpful, and supportive. The parking garage is a bit tricky (one needs to ring a bell for opening, the speaker seemed defect; but even that worked out well in the end.). The room was well lit and distributed intentionally. There was plenty of space to store clothes with many hooks and surfaces (loved it!). The mattress was firm, pillows well selected. There were 4+ wall plugs some of which had USB ports. The room was quiet and had a double door to the corridor. Breakfast offered a sufficient selection to satisfy this flexitarian tea drinker. Everything was fresh.

Overall, everything was clean. However, the bathroom could use some attention. The shower head showed signs of lime, and so did the tiles in the shower cabin. Two corners of the shower cabine showed first signs of fungus. the sealing should be replaced. My interpretation is that the cleaning staff could be more thorough and pay more attention to the shower cabins. The rest of the bath and bedroom were excellently clean and well in order.

Great location, just a short walk to all the central areas. Mainz is beautiful, lots to see and do. The hotel was clean throughout and the communal areas nicely presented. There is a small but pleasant garden with seating to enjoy.

The breakfast was not included and expensive for what was on offer, 17 euros pp. We got fabulous coffee and delicious pastries from a local bakery for a few euros, which we enjoyed in the sun in a nearby beautiful park area along with the locals.

Ideal location. Everything we expect from an Ibis hotel with the addition of underground parking. I understand what some reviewers say about leaving the garage, but it’s quite simple really. Drive your car to the white line next to the ticket machine so your registration can be recognized, scan the ticket and the barrier lifts for exit. It’s confusing because the ticket machine faces the entry barrier.

Room a little small and dark.

Well located - an easy 10 min walk along the river to the centre of the Altstadt, very helpful staff, scrupulously clean, with a comfortable bed and excellent water oresssure in the shower. Good breakfast - the waffle maker is a nice touch.

Some rooms face onto a fairly major road so may not be ideal if you’re a light sleeper and like to sleep with the window open. The compensation for that (at least from the room I was in!) is a view of the Rhine, so it’s a case of priorities.

The staff were extremely helpful and we were able to check in 3 hours early, so that our 2 year old could take a nap. This was really helpful, and we found the stay very comfortable, with an excellent breakfast, and a really great location. Excellent value for money.

The room, with the cot inside, was a little small - but this is really only a minor criticism, as the value for money was great.

Great location - 5 min walking distance to Romisches Theatre train station (direct connection to the FRA airport). Close to the river, great restaurants, cinema and 10 min walking distance to the center
