This is a delightful, characterful, hotel created in an old 4-storey Dutch town house. The room we had was excellent with really good beds and an excellent bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast provided was very good - especially the individually cooked eggs and bacon! It is ideal as a base in the very heart of Maastricht. We spent 3 nights here and would certainly use it again.

The protected status of this buildings of this nature precludes the installation of a lift and so it is necessary to use stairs to reach the upper floors. The staff are very willing to carry luggage to and from rooms on these floors but potential visitors who have significant difficulties with stairs would be advised to check with the hotel when booking to see if a ground floor room is available.

The location is very central. The facility to leave baggage before check-in/after check-out is very useful. Post-booking & pre-check-in communications were timely & very clear. All the staff we encountered were friendly & helpful. The beds & pillows were comfortable. Electric kettle & capsule coffee machine. Several usable electricity sockets, inc near the beds.

The stairs are steep & narrow, and there's no lift. At the door of our room (124) there's a small but unexpected step which I think should be warned of with a sign on outside of the door - "Mind the step down!" Limited shelf space in the bathroom.

Great place for a couple of nights in Maastricht! Great position near the main square and the city centre. Staff was nice and friendly, the building was typical old Dutch structure with steep stairs but overall nice. The room was big and the bed was super comfortable. There was a coffee machine and a bottle of water offered in the room.

No door for the toilet (if you are traveling with a friend or a partner be ready to basically have no wc privacy), the room was cleaned daily but still a bit dusty and triggered my allergy. Last day at 8am there was no hot water in the shower.

Close to down town and shops and restaurants. Cute hotel and the staff was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. Will absolutely stay here again.

My room could have needed a bit of an update. Nothing that I really minded. But the paint was peeling off in the shower ceiling. And the zink was way to small to wash your face. Very Dutch to have very steep stairs, but if you have a problem with walking in stairs, I would talk to the hotel so that they don’t place you on the top floor.

The location was excellent and just where I needed to be within the city. The room was clean, tidy and quiet.

The bilnd over the balcony door should have been replaced years ago. There were no instructions on how to use the room safe, although I worked it out as I've used them befor. The battery cover on the inside of the safe had come off, so if the battery fell out I would not have been able to retreive mt valuables. Breakfast was expensive in conparisone to the local cafe, so I had breakfast there instead.

Everything except for shower was perfect. Only cons was that the shower didn’t have a door. The staff was very polite and helpful. The location is too close to famious places of the city. For the visitors who want to come here with their private car, the q-park frontenpark is cheap and convenient for the location of the property. At the bottomline, the property is very good for the visitors who want to experience historical accomodation feelings.

The hotel had a very charming atmosphere and is on a good location. Everything is within walking distance! My sister and I have walked everywhere to explore the city, which made it ideal that the hotel is in the heart of the city. The staff was very friendly and always greeted us with a smile, and always willing to help. We only did breakfast once due to budget, but it was definitely worth it. Perhaps it isn't as big of variety available as in bigger hotels, but that just made the breakfast even better, with delicious local products. Also in the room there comfy beds and plenty of room to move around. The shower had one of the best water pressure I have ever had in a shower, which was honestly amazing!

Unfortunately within our room was also a closed off boiler space, ofcourse very much necessary to put somewhere, this did bring some noise with it, also we couldn't get the room to cool off, even with the windows open 24/7. After the first night, we did get more used to the noise, so it wasn't a terrible nuisance.

The location is perfect, and the staff super nice (António - Portuguese like me, left a few balloons and a card in the bedroom as it was my birthday the day we checked in! Obrigada António!!!). Big beg, big bathtub which I used nicely and the hotel offers salts which was great, and the old charm of the hotel makes it quite romantic! Complimentary water, coffee, and tea in the bedroom. Mini fridge, too. Nice shampoo and shower gel brand and bath robes.

Things to improve: - Shower hose faulty - water was splashing out - Hooks missing - lack of places to hang clothes - Towels too "thin" for hotel standards - Needs a painting job overall - doesn't do justice to the charm of the hotel how run down it looks - Cups for coffee were OK but for tea were too small - TV remote NOT working (and the TV was the smallest I've seen in a hotel) - The bed was big but not super comfortable in the middle

Breakfast way too expensive. €22 quoted on Booking.com obviously led to guests choosing to go elsewhere (as we did). The hotel sent a text message in the evening offering breakfast the following morning for €16. I am pretty sure they wouldn't have done that if we had accepted the €22 price in the first place or if we had booked breakfast shortly after arrival. That's not a polite way to treat your guests. We went to DeliFrance anyway. Overnight parking cost €35 which was ridiculous.

Need wardrobe or a small place to hang coat jackets somewhere would be great. Had hair on bedsheet first night. After cleaning all good. Guess it was a miss
