Hotel was as we expected from the reviews. Calm and peaceful with a lovely ambiance. All the staff were superb (especially Laura on reception and Claudia in the restaurant) but all we encountered were great. We stayed half board for 6 days which felt about right. The selection and quality of food available for breakfast and dinner was excellent and was never overcrowded. Room was spotless with lovely balcony (we stayed in a junior suite). All in all a fab break and great value for money

The hotel is not really that near anything so you either need a car or stay put for your time there (which we did). One really minor point is that the hot food in the buffet was not always that hot but that is a really monitor point on a really good stay.

The parking is 19 euro,but they offer free parking in a couple of minutes walking. The kitchen in the room was empty- even without glasses. The service was good but looks like they have a lot of work for two people that served the people at the bar. The spa has extra cost.

From the minute we entered the hotel, the feeling of tranquility and luxury was evident everywhere. The check in was smooth as we had the option of booking in advance online which was an added bonus. The staff greeted us with a smile and nothing during the weekend was too much trouble. The room that we had was simply amazing. Huge bedroom, separate lounge and small kitchen. Bathroom had a large shower with amazing waterfall showerhead. Heated towel rail and very good toiletries. Excellent selection of food at both breakfast and evening meal which was of a very good quality and well cooked. The whole hotel is spotless and the service can only be described as first class. This hotel deserves every one of its five stars. The weather was quite chilly over the weekend but the hotel was warm and cosy. Again, I want to congratulate all the staff on their amazing service, from the cleaners to reception staff and waiters. We have never been made to feel so welcome in a hotel and we have travelled extensively. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and will be returning.

The food was good but a bit limited, to be expected for the size of the hotel. The room was lovely and spacious and cleaned everyday to a good standard. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

There were additional benefits mentioned when booking the deluxe room but we didn't get any as this is only for a certain period of the year which could have been made more clear when booking. The kids weren't able to use the indoor swimming pool and the outdoors one weren't heated at all so unfortunately they couldn't swim.

This is a lovely hotel with a chilled vibe. No rush for sunbeds but also no inflatables or ball games allowed. Rooms were large and comfortable, excellent beds, large bathroom with separate shower and toilet plus bidet. Many hotel guests were Spanish which we liked with a few French, Germans and British. This gave an international vibe and given the fact that many Spanish chose this (spanish) hotel speaks for itself. It's a good one.

The early breakfast on leaving day was a picnic bag which wasn't brilliant, we would have preferred a slimmed down breakfast in the breakfast room with coffee. We were not asked if we needed a vegetarian option (which we did need).

Wonderful hotel, cosy and quiet, surrounded by greenery. Just what we needed! Quite a large pool with comfortable sunbeds. Pool towels are given in exchange for cards provided at reception during check-in. We had a room with a separate bedroom, small but cosy and comfortable. The terrace overlooked the garden, with views of the pool and mountains in the distance. Very comfortable bed and lovely pillows. Slept like babies :) The bathroom had everything we needed: hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body cream. Everything was of good quality. Breakfast was excellent. I don’t understand the people who wrote in reviews that there is no variety. In the afternoon, we had lunch at the snack bar by the pool. Lovely Mediterranean cuisine and tasty cocktails.

Two main disadvantages: 1. The car park is paid and quite expensive at 19 euros per day (underground). As an alternative, you can leave your car in the car park of the Masymas supermarket, which is a five-minute walk from the hotel. This is what we did. 2. There is a complete lack of crockery in the kitchen. No plates, no utensils, no wine glasses – only two glasses for water. A slight disadvantage is that there is no option for a light snack in the evening unless you are particularly hungry. Only a full buffet dinner is available for €30 per adult or €18 per child. Drinks are available for an additional fee.

Me and my fíance loved our stay at Barceló La Nucia Hills. Our room was the Deluxe room with a view to the south so we had the sun almost to 19:00 during the day. What really stood out was the staff, breakfast, dinner and cleanliness. Our bed was always made perfect each day! What really stood up above all was a guy named Victor or Viktor he worked in the reception. This guy gave us heads up on all the places to go, restaurants, etc. This guy should really get a big raise. He’s hardworking speaks fluent english and just really a nice charming guy. I would rate our stay a 9.5/10 It would be a straight 10 but the service in the pool ordering drinks was a bit bad otherwise everything was perfect imo.

I didn’t like the service at the bar in the pool area, both upstairs and downstairs. Ordered drinks atleast 5-6 times and just didn’t get my drink. Even though I was ordering of the Barceló app.

On arrival the receptionist Elia was very nice and helpful. The colleagues at the restaurant are also kind and looked after us. The food quality is very good with great choices, although the fruits were not always fresh. The facilities are very good all around the hotel, however it would be useful to have a guide on how to use the microwave owen.

The housekeeping service on arrival was great but sadly the consistency is lacking. There was only light service on most of the day, the linen change request card was ignored, some days the plates were cleaned other days not. Rubbish was left under the sink for two days and the floor was not vacuumed. Crumbs were around the table for 4 days. The housekeeping service was not 5*, needed more attention to details and better supervision on the stayover services. The app did not work well.

-you have to pay for parking -dinner buffet a little poor in relation to its price -a few more details are needed for a true 5 star experience -no water or coffee in rooms -the neighbourhood could be a little boring if you don’t have a car but for us it was a perfect relaxing retreat

Absolutely stunning hotel, very luxurious and immaculately clean. The room was huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with high quality food.

We expected to eat our evening meal in the buffet but it was closed as it was a Monday (closed Mondays and Tuesdays but wasn’t told this on check in. So we were served a set menu in the pool bar (which is a lovely setting) with limited choices. The dishes were main over cooked and dry.
