The hotel has recently been updated to a good standard, the rooms are comfortable with decor and furniture. we had half board and thought the breakfast excellent but the evening meals require more variety of choice and presentation. There is plenty of sun beds outside on a nice grassed area, the beach is very close along with many restaurants on the promenade, swimming pool in excellent condition although a bit small for the size of hotel. rooms were serviced every day. staff were professional and provided a good service.

we stayed in a junior suite which allows you to sit in a separate area in restaurant, the chairs in this area are not comfortable but in the main restaurant chairs are much better ?, there is also a separate lounge area for club rooms, it’s supposed to cater for snacks and soft drinks/coffee, there are no staff in this lounge and in our opinion very disappointed the way its presented to clients. These are minor points and we enjoyed our holiday at this hotel.

This hotel has style and offers comprehensive services. You can always find something that doesn’t quite fit, but with this hotel, it’s not easy to find any faults. From my perspective, I can definitely recommend it—you won’t regret it. In short: cleanliness, excellent location, great facilities, and the staff were always smiling—which costs nothing. The breakfasts were excellent and definitely worth it. I’m not a fan of animation programs, but live music every evening and sometimes even during dinner was a pleasant bonus. I’d recommend choosing the third floor or higher for the better view.

The pool opened quite late, I think at 10 AM, but the sea is just a few steps in front of the hotel. The pool closed at 8 PM, which is a pity—the hotel could improve this a bit, say 8 AM to 9 PM. There’s a gym here that’s actually quite usable, though a minor technical adjustment would make it even better. Still, it’s perfectly usable, which can’t always be said about hotel gyms.

Excellent hotel, highly professional service, nice food, both breakfast and dinner, variety of dishes to choose, super clean, comfortable beds, excellent shower.

Coffee is terrible no idea why they don’t change coffee machine in the restaurant.

We LOVED the decoration and decor throughout the hotel. It was so well thought out and every room / bar we went to was beautiful. All the furniture and umbrellas also were beautiful. It felt like a treat being there. We weren't expecting the hotel to be so beautiful, even the rooms were colourful and modern. The TV in the room had english channels and also netflix and youtube which was great when we were getting ready to go out. 2 single beds but they felt big and I found them really comfy. Bathroom was also a great size with a walk in shower which was powerful and changed temperature well, not like some that are either cold or boiling. Big mirror and fresh design. Wifi worked for us pretty well, Netflix cut out a few times we think at the busiest times where maybe more people were using the wifi but I used it on my phone no problem and downstairs in all the areas wifi was good. I asked for a quiet room with a view if possible and we were in a great room with a fantastic view of the pool and sea. It was on the 6th floor so was quiet, there are 2 lifts to get you down. I didn't hear anyone through the walls our entire stay, you could only hear people walking down the hall through the door but this wasnt bad. I think because this is one of the original hotels in benalmadena the walls are really thick. Aircon was also great, simple to use and kept our room cool all day and night, again because the walls I assume are thick the room stays cool even when the aircon was off when we were out. There was a safe to use for free in the room and a fridge which had some water in when we arrived. Cleaners were great! They did our beds everyday and changed the towels if we wanted everyday (you leave them in the shower tray if you want them changed other wise to save energy you can not have them cleaned everyday). Also we had a dressing gown and slippers on the bed on arrival which was a lovely touch.

Trying hard to think of something... the extraction fan in the bathroom might have not been working but it wasn't an issue with the aircon drying out the air maybe that should be looked at rm620. We loved our veiw so much we didn't want to maybe move to another room and it was fine with it not on. Hotel was excellent I'm sure if we had mentioned it someone would have come up.

This hotel has a wonderful ‘old worldly charm’ about it which I just loved. From the decor, to the subtle music playing in the background, to the amazing scent in the foyer, all created a real ambience which I’ve not experienced in a hotel before. Breakfast was excellent , lots of choice, I can’t comment on evening meal as we didn’t have it, but there’s an abundance of restaurants in the vicinity to choose from. Great location, right on the promenade, stroll right and you’re at Benamadena port, left takes you to Torremolinos, both with shops/bars. Beach directly opposite.

Some areas looking a bit tiered .. ie grout in the shower needs doing, render on the balcony cracked.

Check in rather too quick. No information. Lots of food choices and food was really good at dinner in particular. Too much choice if anything though desserts not great. Breakfast also good with show cooking at both It did feel a little canteen like. But price for half board was excellent. Bar areas very small. Could sit away from bar but then no bar atmosphere. Rooms great. Well serviced and at good time. Pool area was pretty good. Grassy area good for sunbathing but a few broken sunbeds and umbrellas which were needed as people struggled to get one at certain times. Great access to promenade. Would come back to Pez Espada if it wasn't in Torremolinos. If you love torremolinos would recommend.

Sun beds and umbrella should be checked regularly. We had to leave before breakfast and no packed breakfast is provided.

Very spacious and well laid out/ presented hotel. In good location for my trip. Breakfast was excellent and had a great selection of different foods. I also was very grateful to the hotel for the birthday cake and cava on the day.

In the afternoon bar, it wasn't clear whether the service was at the table or at the bar, and no staff explained, I had three visits, and the first and third I sat at a table whilst waiting staff buzzed past me, but not one stopped to explain, so I simply left without taking any refreshments. Only on the second visit, when I was welcomed by a waitress, and I asked how to order, did she take my coffee order. This was my only problem over the 5 day stay.

This is the oldest hotel in the neighborhood, formerly visited by famous celebrities. I think they still try to hold on to this 60' and 70' feel with their decoration and interiors - and I think it works fine. Hotel location is fantastic, right on the beach and many (or all?) rooms have sea view. Restaurant also have great view. Room was spacious enough, with very big main bed. We ate on HB plan and both breakfast and dinners were rich enough for our taste. In comparison with other places, price was acceptable. Overall - a hotel worth considering in the area.

Small things to mention: shower was old and made bad impresion. Additional bed for child was narrow and small. Parking was expensive. We had problem with wi-fi (resolved). Our door cards were programmed wrongly, we had to return to reception for fix. We didn't use pool in winter, but I suppose it is not very popular - shaded in the entire afternoon. Even water is paid during dinner on HB plan.

It was all nice

only a few things that let it down. The hotel has a big advert about sustainability, but doesn't have a drinking tap for filling up water bottles. When we asked they said to use the taps in the bathroom, that isn't acceptable. Updates on what is going on in the hotel could be advertised on the television with the other information. The information in the lift isn't updated daily. The drinks in the hotel are very expensive which put us off staying in the hotel of an evening. The umbrellas round the pool are nearly all broken.
