The staff were all lovely. Stand outs were Mario in the restaurant, as well as an older Japanese lady whose name I did not get. Also Kamokyo??? the Japanese lady who sat everyone at breakfast - so friendly and kind. It was the staff who made the stay outstanding. We really enjoyed having lunch at the hotel each day - it was so peaceful and the food was great. It was always nice to escape the crowds and come back to somewhere peaceful and welcoming.

I was excited to see Crabtree and Evelyn products in the bathrooms but our conditioner was empty. I did ask housekeeping to replenish it but in the 4 days we were there it didnt happen. Also we only had a tiny bit of toilet paper on arrival. I asked for more and was given 2 rolls - but when we went out we returned to find they had been taken away, lol! The room was also very dark - better lighting would be nice for reading and working thank you.

The hotel impresses from the moment you reach it. The lift, escalator or stairs take you from the road level up to reception which was handled very efficiently. Our room was wonderful, we'd booked a suite as we like to have space to relax, and it was immaculately kept. The settee and armchairs were extremely comfortable as was the bed. Breakfast had everything you could want from cereals and pastries through to a full cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help answer any question we might have.

The breakfast offers good quality with a satisfying variety, though the menu remains consistent daily. As an early riser, I appreciated the fully stocked selection and absence of crowds during my visits. A notable highlight was the 24-hour gym facility, which was well-maintained and provided excellent convenience for guests with varying schedules. Overall, the dining and fitness amenities met my needs effectively, with the consistent breakfast being the only area that could benefit from occasional variety.

I would have given this hotel full marks if it had not been for an unfortunate incident ..I ordered a 0 alcohol beer at the bar and noticed I felt very strange whilst drinking it . It then became very clear that the beer did infact contain alcohol and I had been served a gluten free beer rather than the zero beer I had ordered ..fortunately it is a preference for me to not drink alcohol as had this been an allergy or religious reason the consequences would have been serious ..I reported the incident and was not charged for the beer however i think that you need to be very aware so that staff can avoid a mistake like this in the future. I did not feel well after and it was only through some positive thinking and discussion with my partner which prevented it from ruining my evening.

Location was excellent, everywhere within walking distance. On arrival, concierge parked my car (which was a great relief) removing any stress and hassle. Superb breakfast and the Piano Bar was very pleasant for an afternoon/evening drink. I used the gym twice, very well appointed (although no bottled water available). We had use of the Executive Lounge, which was a nice touch.

The room was good, but probably needs brightened and renovated. Same with the room corridors.

Excellent air conditioning, very good sized room, lovely beds, really lovely breakfast selection (including gluten-free options), location perfect for our needs. They allowed us to check-in early as well [however, see below for more information].

We needed to check-in early and were advised to call on the morning of the stay to see if this was possible. During the phonecall I was told that we could check-in early for an additional £40. At no point in any previous emails/telephone calls had this been mentioned, nor was it stated anywhere that I could find on their website. Thankfully, upon arrival we were let in without any fuss.

Location. Staff on phone were helpful trying assist with early check in. Ice machine and ice bucket were great. Two large beds in the twin room was fabulous.

Toilet had a poo smear on front of seat that I had to clean off myself. Concierge did not offer to help us with our bags on both arrival and departure. This was even the case as he watched me (female) wheeling a large heavy suitcase and two shoulder bags to the car park as he walked us down there. A gentleman would have offered at least to wheel the suitcase. Surprising for an expensive hotel. Bath shower was small. TV in the twin room had about three channels only and they played children’s shows.

The hotel is very well located in the central part of Cambridge, next door to Great Arcade shopping center. It can be accessed by a car and also very easily by a bus. In fact multiple bus lines stop in the nearest proximity of the hotel. Breakfast buffet is excellent and they never run out of space, just open another room. The bar is also very nice and provides food and drinks at decent proces.

My room was located on the top floor, which is the 4th floor. It was impossible to open window to get some non-artificial air. I am not sure if this concerns only the top floor or all rooms in the hotel.

Room was clean, quiet, bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our movie night on big tv. I am pleased with my choice for family room. Lovely atmosphere and staff were friendly. Location is probably the best you can get if want to do shopping and explore Cambridge. I definitely would go back again.

It was confusing to park as shopping centre car park was right next to it, so by mistake I went to the wrong one. However, receptionist explained how to get to the hotel car park, she also recommended to leave the car as parking is free after 6pm, stayed for 24h and paid just over £20 Not bad🙂

Hotel is well placed --- the reason we go there --- and breakfast is generous and offers an excellent choice.

Bathroom door handle was loose when we arrived and fell off on Saturday evening; this is something which should have been checked before the room was cleared for occupancy. Someone on their own could have been marooned in the bathroom. There was a prompt response when we reported the problem, but nothing could be done at the time ,We delivered the handle to reception when we checked out on Monday.
