Loved my room and the tranquility of the hotel. Its family run and this reflects in how welcome they made me feel. They made me feel like I was part of the family as well. The hotel is in a great location to explore the historic centre, and a short walk to the brilliant metro that can take you north into the newer modern centre, and parks. Quito is great, and has much to offer. The Hotel building itself is a fantastic old building that’s been converted brilliantly. In the afternoons and evenings I would enjoy a drink on the roof garden and call home on the excellent WiFi. Breakfasts were great, with a choice of cereals, fruit, breads, and eggs. Fresh coffee as well. I loved my stay here.

We had a wonderful time staying here. We absolutely adore the owners Mario and Blanca! From the time we arrived to the time we left they were welcoming, helpful, and super sweet. You can tell that they really care. The hotel is beautiful with three floors, two dining areas, a couple of reading areas and a rooftop terrace. The room was very spacious, shower was hot, included toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) and a hair dryer. The rooms were cleaned everyday and they leave a bottle of water and chocolates for you. They start your day off right with a healthy and balanced breakfast consisting of yogurt with fruit and granola, eggs made your way with a slice of cheese and roll/croissant with butter and jam, coffee and freshly made juice. Location was great and within walking distance to the main attractions and restaurants. Other destinations are a quick Uber or taxi ride away and very affordable. Mario ordered a car service for us to the airport and they arrived promptly. As we they told us we are family now and always welcome back. We will most definitely return!

Come for the amazing showers (lots of hot water and great pressure!) but stay to get to know Mario and Blanca. We spent 8 nights here while studying Spanish at a nearby school and were so pleased with our choice. We slept great despite being in the historical centre. When we left it truly did feel like saying goodbye to family. I have never experienced hospitality like that provided by Mario and Blanca.
The only negative is that the water from the shower spills out into the room. I almost felt bad showering and making a mess.

The owners of Casa El Edén are fabulous! Throughout our stay Mario and Blanca were friendly, attentive, and receptive. From our first visit, to our second, they remembered specific requests we had made, and implemented them before our arrival, which added to our comfort. This lovely boutique hotel is conveniently located in Centro Histórico, close to Plaza de Independencia, museums, bars and restaurants. It is a beautifully renovated building, with cozy, artfully decorated rooms, with personal touches added in. Their daily complimentary breakfast was delicious, and they included fresh juice and fruit, yogurt and granola, eggs and rolls. However, it was the friendly service that made each morning special.

A small boutique hotel in a restored building in the historic center of Quito. The owners are the hosts and and super people - friendly, informed, and very helpful. The hotel is a short walk to all the sites of historic Quito plus restaurants, bars etc. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-appointed.
Arriving/departing by car can be a pain depending on the time of day. There is no easy way to pull off the street, so you end up holding up traffic. Call Mario a few minutes before you arrive and he'll be outside to help you.

I would give this hotel 11 out of 10 if I could. This is a fantastically maintained and designed boutique hotel within easy walking distance of the cultural historic centre. The rooms are superb and uniquely finished. We stayed here before and after visiting the Galapagos and the owners are so welcoming and friendly and would do anything to help make your stay more comfortable. The breakfast is perfect and sets you up for the day. I really can't fault this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.
It was perfect.

Casa El Eden is a home away from home. Mario and Blanca are excellent hosts who go out of their way to welcome you to their home and city. The building has been lovingly restored and the rooms are excellent - spacious with super comfortable beds and an excellent shower. The breakfast is also exceptional. Mario and Blanca provided recommendations and we felt very safe in their home. Thank you for taking such good care of us. We can’t wait to return.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are fantastic. Mario and Blanca put so much effort into making us feel welcome and at home. You really can tell they care so much and wish for you to have the best stay possible. It made a huge difference. Our taxi dropped us off across Quito so Mario came to meet us and walked us back, carrying our bags. They both were very friendly faces that we could trust to help us and this was a lovely feeling being so far from home. The room was amazing, so clean and well equipped. The roof terrace was the icing on the cake and we loved spending time looking at the view while having a break from the busy city streets. There was nothing that we asked that Mario and Blanca didn't go above and beyond in providing, and we didn't ever want to leave. We know we have a home away from home next time we are in Quito and wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Absolutely nothing.

Up front to other see it: We had to move our flight to the Galapagos up to midnight rather than 7am the next day with 1 day to spare (Quito airport was closing, long story). Mario and team SAVED us by letting us stay until 9pm in the room for a very reduced rate (they could easily have made us pay the whole night as we had originally booked) Also, all the other reviewers are 100% correct: Mario and his wife treat you like family (better even!). They arranged for the driver, who met us with a sign at the airport and drove us to town. They were there waiting to check us in late that night (around 10.30pm) and then arranged our breakfast and tour times to allow us to get enough sleep for the next day's excitement. Breakfast was lovely, in the courtyard. Fruit, coffee, bread, eggs as you ordered, etc. They helped arrange the tours in advance, which went off splendidly. The building is amazing-very relaxing. Great internet. Shower is a bit in the open so if that is an issue for you, it's something to consider. There is a lovely small museum 2 blocks up the street if you turn right as you leave Casa El Eden-free and highly recommended. Felt very safe. Great location. Met some lovely other guests as well. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience for my mother and me! Appreciated the bottled water in the room every day. They even heated up some leftovers we had from a fabulous dinner (at Zazu) so we had a snack before going to the airport at 9pm-when we were too tired to go out.
This is just a simple reality of these older homes-there is no elevator, so if stairs are an issue for your party, make sure to get a room on the 2nd floor (1 flight of stairs). However, don't worry, they handle the heavy bags.

After traveling to 60 countries, I can say that this is the best hospitality experience I have EVER received at any hotel in my entire life. This bed and breakfast is run by the cutest couple and they take care of you like family from start to finish. I am just simply blown away by the hospitality. The bed was also so comfortable and the space is cozy and spacious. It is also a prime location about 5-10 mins from old town.
