This is a lovely historic home on a major town square at the edge of the historic old town. It’s about a 20min walk to the main square or a 10 min taxi ride ($3). The rooms were large, beds comfortable and all staff very hospitable. We had breakfast and dinner at the property and enjoyed both. The staff were caring and engaged readily with guests. I would stay again and would recommend the property to our friends. We arrived at 1am and staff were waiting to escort us to our rooms. We had a late checkout. We had our laundry washed (hand and machine) and some small sewing repairs. We enjoyed our stay. We completed the city tour and enjoyed the experience.

The hotel has traffic noise. The windows are double glazed and the noise is at a low volume. We stayed in a modern hotel in the business district (a street with less traffic) and found the noise level similar. So traffic noise is the inescapable in the city. It’s very similar to our experience in other large cities. Bring some earplugs if you think it will disturb your sleep.

I thought the whole experience at this hotel was great ...it's an old Ecuadorian house upgraded to give quite a 'posh' experience. The breakfast and dinner (optional) were up there with a Michelin star.....beautiful and very tasty. I was doing an early day tour to Cotopaxi volcano and the manager arranged for me to takeaway a breakfast....All the staff were great the manager, assistant manager and assistants, cleaners, gardener all very helpful and supportive - attentive to your every requirement and very knowledgeable able the region etc....and all are multilingual with great english. If you are lucky you will see humming birds in the garden and the hotel is pretty close to all the viewing sites.... great experience.

Not much....

The location is very central to exploring the Old Town. The room we were in was spotless, bed was incredibly comfortable and shower had great pressure and hot water. In addition, breakfast served was delicious and well-prepared. Above all, the staff were just incredible. They were the most helpful and looked after us throughout our stay.

It is right by a busy main road and although traffic does pretty much stop later in the night, you get the occasional motorcycles and early morning traffic even with the soundproofing in place. However, that is pretty standard for all/most accommodations in Ecuador and we are generally more sensitive to sounds.

A beautiful hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. We had a medical issue during our stay, and Diego the manager had a doctor visit for a house call within 30 minutes. Every possible assistance they could provide was taken care of. The breakfast was amazing and when required it was brought to our room. Joshua and Marilyn were also unbelievably helpful and supportive. We are extremely grateful to our new Quito family. We will never forget.

This is an old building which converted into a very hommy hotel, from the owner Diego & all staff are very friendly and helpful. Fresh flowers of roses in every table in dining area is beautiful. I booked 1nite and extend another 2nites there. My room is very compact, clean and I get the beautiful souvenir on my bed. Otto the german shepherd dog is very friendly to play with. When I was there, there was a birthday party of the owner so I cud see how the people there partying with traditional music and dancing it is interesting to see though it was a bit noisy since my room overlooking the garden where they had the party but ai dont mind. I would defenetely come back again when I visit Quito.

The facade of outside building is very dirty with bad grafities, I dont know whether they can paint it or not to make it more clean and new since this area is an old town area.

The place is central to old town Quito. The rooms are good size with a king sized bed and large bathroom with rain shower and good water pressure. The staff are very professional but Miguel the manager is so hands on and he's always doing everything to please his guests that I give him an A++ for effort. The place feels safe and there's restaurants close by. We had a nice birthday dinner and we enjoyed our meal. Breakfast is ample with eggs,, bread and a fruit plate. Overall, we're very happy with our stay in Hotel Casona.

No elevatorso you have to carry your luggage to the second floor. And they only have Netflix, no cable TV.

Everyone managing the property is super helpful and kind. My room is spacious and clean. The breakfast has lots of choices, is fresh cooked and delicious. The location is on a busy street but the outside noise doesn’t permeate too much. Access to the metro, bus line and easy 10 minute walk to old town are all great. My favorite thing at this hotel is the people. The dinners are very good. Desert is just gorgeous true work of art.

It’s all good.

We like everything about Casona 1914. Beautiful colonial South American architecture and details in the decoration were perfectly matching. The hotel was so beautiful! It was super clean. The rooms were big enough and you have everything you would need. Plus, super comfortable beds! Breakfast was the best one we had in Ecuador! The staff were always very attentive, smiling and super helpful whenever we needed. We always felt very safe and taken care of as they were always checking us out when we were coming/leaving the hotel . Since we were very happy after our first stay, we booked the same hotel for 2 night more. They also helped us with our Cotopaxi tour and we used the agency they recommended which was the best tour guide we had, so if you need any tour I would advise to follow their recommendations! It was absolutely our favorite accommodation in Ecuador, and generally one of the best hotels we ever stayed! If we visit Quito again, will definitely book Casona 1914 again!

The staff were all without exception amazing and looked after me so well. I had been robbed of my phone by 2 men on a motorbike before I arrived. It delayed me by 6 hours not arriving till 8pm as I had to go to the police station and I was unable to let them know. They made me some soup and also let me WhatsApp my children throughout my stay. I used their PC to organise a trip and check in my flight. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was outstanding too.

The hotel was in a lovely old building, with a central atrium and lots of characterful touches. There weren't many people staying when I visited and it had a slight out of season feel, although I was made to feel very welcome as a solo traveller and the two rooms I stayed in were very comfortable ( I returned after my Galapagos trip). The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious, with the opportunity to order some local dishes if wanted. The metro stop nearby is great for getting into the old town and felt very safe.

Although there were a couple of chairs in the atrium, they weren't really for relaxing which meant staying in my room was the only option in the evening. I feel that perhaps the staff might have been a little more friendly. although they were perfectly polite and helpful.
