The location was right by the Nile. We had a private pier where we could start for whichever destination we needed. Mr Aoi was really kind and helpful. Elephantine Island in general was really peaceful.

You need to be sure to know where you are going this is not a star rated hotel, and that's why I did not rate it like that. This is a guest house in a Nubian village. You have to pass through smelly animal coops, dirt and garbage to get to it. For us it was ok because that is exactly where we wanted to stay, but maybe it's not for everyone.

The place has everything I needed, it was recommended by my contact in Luxor and it turned out to be perfect. The hosts where helping me to find my way around like restaurants and day trips to various locations and other information. Good service, if you have a question or problem they immediately start helping you. Clean place, good shower! Good view too, close to ferry and restaurants. The place is located on the Elephantine Island with it's easy going Bob Marley style. Good place to relax and absorb the local culture. All the cats are your friend from the start! Yes, I would recommend this place to others: 10/10.

For me the place was perfect. The bed is very simple, no reading light for example. This was not a problem for me, because at night I was often too tired to do some reading. Other lights are sufficient though, but on the topic comfort this is the only improvement I can think of.

I fell in love with the apartment right after arriving. The location with a terrace right on the bank of the Nile, where you find yourself in an oasis of peace and can indulge in observing the action on the river. The apartment was large, clean, fragrant and immediately after waking up you are greeted by a magical view of the rising sun through the window. The owner of the house is a very pleasant man with good English, he is very willing to advise and answer questions. He will arrange and arrange everything necessary for your program. Taxi, motorboat, felluca, in short, whatever you wish and at great prices. In short, good. You don't have to take a step from that beautiful terrace and you can get everything in one door. Thank you and I will definitely come back!

We had an absolutely amazing time at awis guesthouse! Awi and his family are super nice, hospitable and he is helpful with trips and suggestions. The apartment is very cozy and clean with an awesome view. The house is located directly at the Nile and has a lovely terrace. Infront of the house you have trees and in the gardens there are some sheep’s and few cows living. The neighbors are also very friendly. The guesthouse is close to the ferry. Nearby you find great food and coffee at Nubian dreams and sudanuba. We would have liked to stay so much longer! All the best from Jonathan and Isa

Excellent location, with a beautiful view of Nile and the city of Aswan. Only 2 min walk from the pier, where you can take a ferry to conveniently get to Aswan. By the water~ It’s Aswan all about. The host helped with transporting my luggage by his own boat on the arrival and departure day. It very important if you have big luggage like me. The host was very helpful on suggesting how to travel to attractions around Aswan. He could even recommend economical tours if you need them. I had a very pleasant and relaxing stay there!

It was a good location. Peaceful and quiet, next to the riverbank, facing the beautiful view of Aswan city. Easy communication with Awi and overall a good stay.

The location couldn't be better and the acomadation was spacious, very clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Right on the bank overlooking the Nile on an small island which was occupied by a Nubian village. A few restaurants an easy walk away. The owner and his family were onsite and provided transport to and from the island and to any sites we wanted to see. It was a great place to see this part of Egypt. Mr Awi also arranged transport for us to our next stop in Luxor

Had the most pleasant stay at Awi! After a somewhat hectic and chaotic time Cairo, the slower paced and more nature-based scenery of Aswan, especially on Elephantine Island, was such a welcome change. The place is a bit hidden but has beautiful views across the Nile of Aswan, which is especially stunning at night. Yasin was a great host who picked me up by boat to take me to Awi House and also helped me with booking trips such as Philae Temple and a day trip to Abu Simbel, and Ahmed dropped me off by boat at the end of my stay. Overall I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful location on the calm island in the middle of Nile with view on the city. Awi and all his family and friends are really kind and helpfull. Great breakfast. Stay here and enjoy your relax in Aswan.

Maybe just one thing. We took the felucca ride with Awi and in the description of the trip was stop on the tombs of the nobles and botanical garden with entrance fees included. During the trip Awi said that is mistake and he was sorry about it. So you pay for the ride and then extra for the locations. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Breakfast was delicious and featured local specialties. Awi, the host, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. One great advantage is the free boat transfer they offer from the island to the city, making it much easier to plan the day and arrive on time for tours and other activities. The apartment was comfortable and matched the description perfectly, making our stay very enjoyable.
