Given the options at Aswan I think this is a good choice. It's not a luxury hotel but if you're not a backpacker and you don't want to spend a lot of money at a resort, this is a good option.

The mattrass had a dark stained that could be seen through the sheets so we were given another room that was clean. Trouble was that the hot water didn't work so we had an envigorizing shower the next morning. They finally fixed it but it took them some hours. The staff was nice although it takes them a while to serve dinner (maybe they should hire more people). We were charged a bit more than what had been booked through booking.com, apparently something common in Egypt which by the way makes me question the convenience of using booking.com or make a reservation directly with the hotel.

Comfy bed l. Staff very helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Lovely and clean. ATM on site. Friendly staff. Rooms spacious and nice bathroom. Fantastic view of the Nile from some rooms. Great view from terrace and restaurant. Restaurant open 24 hours. Had four shops on site, the cheapest shops for Egyptian gifts we found in aswan and Luxor. Great range of food at breakfast. Good range of food for lunch and dinner. Walkable distance to walk to ferry's for elephantine island. Laundry really cheap to get done here. Would definately stay here again. Great looking swimming pool.

Overall nice hotel and good value for money. Feels miles away from the hectic road and the nearby souk - peaceful and quiet. The coffeshop and restaurant terraces are great and with a very nice Nile view. The restaurant staff were really nice and helpful and spoke good English. The gardens were lovely and very well taken care of, and made sitting on the terrace in front of the room in the morning and evening very pleasant. Swimming pool clean and with a great Nile view.

Rooms are quite run down (but clean), they haven't had a renovation since their days of glory probably a couple of decades ago.

The hotel has an excellent location, helpful staff, and stunning Nile views. I highly recommend this hotel as a solid choice for anyone who will be Aswan. The location along the Nile River was absolutely amazing offering panoramic views of the river and surrounding areas. The hotel's staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay. The location was also convenient, being near local landmarks like the museums and Philae Temple, and within walking distance to the main city area and just 2 minutes from Aswan’s big market. While not as luxurious as some of the top-tier options in Aswan, Obelisk Nile Hotel provides great value for money (which is waaay less, almost half the price, than those top tier hotels, offering comfortable rooms with excellent views of the Nile, especially at sunrise and sunset. It was a perfect spot for local experience with amazing views of the river.

The food can be improved more.

Breakfast (and dinner) overlooking the Nile was superb (especially the outstanding views at sunset - no boat trip needed!). The food quality and service was outstanding. All the staff speak excellent English and are keen to help with anything you need. The room was large, the air conditioning worked perfectly, the shower was powerful, toiletries provided were good quality, and bottled water in the room was appreciated. The location is amazing, with everything you need (restaurants, cafes, ATMs, shops, markets etc.) within a short walking distance. We didn't use the pool but it looked great. Great value for money and I hope to return again someday. A special thank you to our friendly waiter Sherif Hamdy who made our stay very special, and the barman Amr Mohammed who kept us well hydrated with local wine!

The only thing I didn't like was leaving!

The room was amazing and in fact we think was the best one we stay in over our 15 nights of Egypt. This felt more like a 5 star than a 4 star. Great views too! The location of yet was 10/10 & our guide said this is the best located hotel to get things. We were in the Nile River suite. Very spacious! Bed was very comfortable! Pic here is us on our room balcony with the Nile in view. Movenpick hotel on Elephantine island is directly opposite at twice the price!

The curtains - they had a big gap in the middle which didn’t meet so we used the throw across the bottom of the bed to cover most of it or we would’ve been blinded by light in the morning. The breakfast was average. There’s room for improvement there but it wasn’t bad.

Location: Centrally located next to lot of Nile Cruise docks; many restaurants nearby including its own as well as McDonalds. Room: Good size with queen/king bed, safe, good size bathroom, hot water, Nile view. Patio opens right on Nile. Amazing view including that of Movepick resort and Dome of Abu Al-Hawa. Breakfast: Great spread including continental and Egyptian options. Onsite cafeteria and italian restaurant have enough vegetarian options. Nice pool and bar area,

Nothing in particular. Everything was as expected or better. If you are family of more than 3, then you will need 2 rooms.

We had a spacious room with a very large balcony facing the Nile. We had pizza for dinner at the Italian restaurant, it was good. Breakfast provided a variety of offerings including made to order omelettes. Staff was friendly!

My partner and I received a renovated room but my father-in-law did not, which is something to consider. The shower in our room did not drain properly and I had to turn the shower off multiple times to prevent flooding. We were only here for one night so I didn't report this to management. Our room faced the Nile River and around 4am a boat playing very loud music with very heavy bass was cruising by, for what felt like forever. That is not the fault of the hotel of course but something to consider when booking a room facing the Nile.

We stayed in this hotel for a night. It's a very nice clean hotel. It has an Italian restaurant though we didn't eat at it. We had deserts & coffee at the coffee shop on site, which looks onto the water. We had 2 rooms both very clean with a very modern clean bathroom. There's a McDonald's & kfc nearby to walk too. It's right on the water front where you can sit and watch the boats go by. We got a breakfast bag as we were going on a trip.which was ok. Though I would say to the staff, don't put a yogurt in a breakfast bag in a hot climate. It was disgusting and off. Yogurt needs to b kept COLD. The staff are all pretty helpfully.

The mattress on beds are very hard. Sitting at the coffee shop is nice. Although the smell if diesel from the boats is a bit much. Just one of the staff at front desk had some sort if attitude about him. The rooms could do with a chair at the vanity table. As you have nothing to sit on.

We were very happy with our stay at the Obelisk Nile Hotel. We booked a room with a Nile river view and this was a very good idea as the rooms not facing the river were obviously not as good. The room was modern, clean, air-conditioned and with a big bathroom - it was an excellent room. The hotel has a restaurant with a terrace right on the river which was great (photo of river view attached) - breakfast was very good including there being an omelet chef. The pool is big, clean and with a poolside drinks service. The free sunset river cruise on the hotel boat for 1 hour was brilliant - it was free and no hidden cost or sell - just a delightful river cruise up and back the river at sunset. Rana the customer services manager was very helpful, even on her day off when we needed a little assistance, she was there on WhatsApp to help.

The cost of transport hired through the hotel or through tour companies is way over the top - if you can brave it, you will pay way way less for a taxi to take you the Philae Temple boat station (15 minutes) or to the Unfinished Obelisk (5 minutes).
