Nuba Tod is a perfect gateway to explore Elephantine Island. Mohammed, the nephew of the owner, was our host for this time and he went above and beyond in showing us the place and making us comfortable. It is quite special to get to know the island from his eyes and I am thankful for having shared dinner with him the night we arrived and had the chance to have a relaxed conversation about the place. Breakfast (paid extra) is well priced and worth it with a pretty view of the island and the Nile. The driver they hired for us to go to Abu Simbel and back was a gem, and it was a fair price. Rooms are clean and comfortable and cute Nubian deco. Great restaurants around. Very easy to go freely back to and from Aswan.

The bathroom is quite small. Also, be warned: no ATMs on the island unless you are prepared for a small adventure.

If you’re looking for somewhere quiet to stay after busy Cairo, this is the place! The shower and AC, and wifi work very well. You can walk to the property from the ferry, less than 5 minutes. There are signs to direct you. Abouda was very kind and helped answer all the questions we had about where we wanted to visit, and they can plan trips and faluka rides for you. We arranged a day trip to abu simbel, and had breakfast on the roof one morning. You’ll definitely have a nice time if you stay here :) Jamaica King is the best food we had on the island, they had vegetarian options which was great.

The stay was excellent—clean and comfy, with décor and a terrace full of local character. The bathroom was a bit small, but considering the price, we were very satisfied. The host speaks excellent English and was very friendly. He prepared a hearty, freshly made breakfast according to our request time. There are several top-rated restaurants from the Aswan area on the island, all within a few minutes’ walk. However, getting off the island requires a boat ride, which comes at an extra cost, though boats are available on call. Overall, we were very pleased with the accommodation and would recommend it to anyone visiting Aswan.

We loved our stay here. The room had everything we needed and it had a great view towards Nile. The owner was very friendly and we felt like at home. We enjoyed our conversations with him. The location is perfect as it's very close to the best restaurants in Aswan and there is a public boat that goes often to the city in less than 5 min. We never had to wait for the boat as it's goes quite frequently as well. Even though the island is not in good conditions, we loved our stay there. All the people we met or encountered were very friendly. I am so glad we decided to stay 3 nights instead of 2 as it's my favorite part of the trip. The owner also helped us arranging several tours and we were happy with all those trips we took. I would totally recommend this guest house to everyone.

Great location on Elephant island at walking distance from the public ferry, outside the hustle and bustle of Aswan. The English speaking owner also has his own boat and his friendly son gave us a nice boat tour around the island, including to the Botanical Gardens and a Nubian village. We also did a very nice tour to a Coptic monastery in the desert by camel. It is advisable to check in advance what a tour exactly entails. The rooms are fine, but vary greatly in size and view. The nicest rooms are on top. A good breakfast is served on the roof terrace with a beautiful view; in the evening you can eat very well at the nearby restaurant Bob Marley.

the host was very hospital, maybe a bit pushed too much as he was eager to know my itinerary and tried to offer better tour options for me, which some of them worked and I really appreciate that. but the overall feeling was a bit too over-controlled. the connections the host has were amazing, taxi driver, ferry, and sailing boat all beyond expectation. if you would like to experience the life on elephantin island I would highly recommend this place.

the fact it's on a remote island sometime brought some inconvenience which I didn't know when I booked the place in the first place. but all solvable and worked out well.

Ali the host was absolutely amazing and was extremely hospitable!! He welcomed us to the guest house and made us feel at home, showed us where to get dinner and helped us make travel plans. He made sure we were looked after and felt like he was really looking out for us. Elephantine Island is a great place to stay and the Nubian people are so kind and welcoming. Thank you to Ali and his brothers for hosting us, we hope to be back!

Myself and partner travelled around Egypt for 4 weeks so got a good feel for the availability of many types of accommodation, cruise/resort/booking.com and Airbnb. I can honestly say Nuba Tod Abuda was were we felt most relaxed and free from any hassles. We were able to recuperate, turn off totally and chill from our various travels, a major part of this was due to Abouda himself, who is a fantastic communicator and fluent in many languages, including English due to being so well traveled. Abouda kindly accepts you into his home and makes you feel welcome like a returning friend, he is aware what a traveler needs and is well able to provide for your needs, topped with delicious Nubian recipes, large portions of deliciousness! We also went out on his beautiful boat to the botanic gardens which I highly recommend, really memorable trip on the Nile to impressive green sheltered gardens. There is so much to do on Elaphantine Island,the only regret we have is that we did not stay longer. Shall come back again for a longer stay as the place is so comfortable and well equipped, especially the balcony, brilliant space and view. The owner can speak English well. The location is really good，and the ferry can reach directly which is convient to the customers with large luggage. The room is decorated with Nubian colour and clean.

The bed mattress is too soft for us.

Perfect location on Elephantine Island. Mohamed is a perfect host, who can arrange trips if you want, and also provide suggestions on what to see and where to eat on the island and in the area in general. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. It's also a nice place to experience Nubian hospitality, culture, and food. It's very close to the public ferry to get back to the city centre, but the location on the river makes it a relaxing, peaceful place to stay away from the city as well. We would happily come back here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Aswan.
