As soon as we got to the hotel, the staff were very caring and attentive, especially the manager. He was such a nice person, he even helped us with recommendations and getting tickets to tourist attractions. The hotel was very peaceful and the rooms were nice and clean. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much and it was very close to many tourist sights as well!

This hotel has a sign outside that reads " you arrive as a guest and you leave as a friend". Couldn't be more true. These wonderful people could not do enough for us. It was a real home from home. I will certainly be back.

Absolutely nothing

Had a great time at El Gezirah on the west side of Luxor. The accommodation is well cared for by Egyptian standards and met all my expectations. There is a nice terrace on the roof where you can have a quiet breakfast and good food, so it's a great hotel without a lot of fuss. Of the entire team, Ragab is the one who knows the most, without being pushy he has been able to help me several times. I will definitely return here next time. I can recommend it to everyone

El Gezira hotel exceeded our expectations. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our time there. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

This spot is a real gem. First, please consider staying on West Bank if you want to avoid the circus on the East Side. One advantage is that you can head straight to Valley of the Kings first thing in the morning and possibly be the only visitor in the first couple of tombs you visit. Absolutely worth an early wake up call. The hotel is simple and cozy, clean with hot showers. I loved my balcony and the rooftop restaurant (great Egyptian food). I slept soundly each night. It is very close to the public ferry or motor boats to get across the river. Above all, the staff here are just excellent. I stayed for only four nights and got to know all of them by name. They treated me like family when I was in the hotel. They also helped me navigate luxor with taxis and arrange a tour further afield to Abydos and Dendera. Shokran to the staff who took the time to answer my questions about modern Egyptian life in the evenings after taking in the ancient remnants in the daytime. I give the highest recommendation to El Gezira Hotel.

In one month travelling into Egypt, this has been our best hotel ever. The location is in a very friendly and family atmosphere, just close to shops and restaurants, and to the Nile so very easy to go East bank. The equipments were of very good quality. Hot and nice shower and even a heater as the nights were a bit fresh. The room was cleaned every day. We could even enjoy the heated swimming pool and sunbath. And on top of that, the team was awesome, friendly and very helpful. Particularly Ragab who has been guiding us and helping us with many bookings, including taxis and hot air baloon. They have made our trip to louxor unforgettable.

It s a nice clean hotel in a quite area on west bank near the public ferry to east bank (5 EGP), breakfast is also good. The hotel is close to the restaurants on the nile's bank which are much better and cheaper than on the other side.

The staff maybe propose to much to manage the trip to the king's valley or for a hot air balloon but it s almost similar in every hotel in Egypt, we took the taxi in the street without any problem but you should bargain of course.

Very helpful staff. Generously allowed us to enjoy their sister hotel El Gezira Garden Hotel a few blocks walk away, to eat and drink there as well and use their pool for free. We took turns each evening at their restaurants and both have great chefs and food. It was very quiet like a private pool on most days when we came except the last day just a few more people in July 2025. El Gezira Hotel exceeded our expectations. I enjoyed talking to everyone there. They speak English very well. They helped us find a driver to take us to Valley of the Kings and other places called Sayad who was excellent. I'll miss them all. Everything was really good but just to say watch for the similar name to sister hotel El Gezira Garden Hotel, the key difference having garden in their name. It was confusing and I made a mistake with the booking but it turned out to be a blessing and I'm happy I made it. One morning they didn't have any milk for my free breakfast coffee but you can buy some milk at the shop round the corner if you need to. I didn't bother.

El Gezira is really amazing. We stayed two nights and were sorry we had to leave. We will definitely be back. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and clean. There is lots of little details where you really see that someone thought about the design of the place. The people were incredibly nice and helpful and the roof restaurant has a good view and great food for a reasonable price. We also really loved staying on the west side, with its quiet where you hear only the birds when waking up. On previous stays I had stayed on the noisy east bank, where the birds are replaced by honking cars. So definitely stay in the west.
