We were very happy with our stay at El Nakhil. Our room was set in well-tendered gardens, giving it the feel of a cottage. The hotel was clean, including a very inviting pool, though we didn’t get the chance to use it. It has its own restaurant on the first floor, serving good food and with nice views of the surrounding area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Abdallah in reception who organised many things for us and Yusuf in the restaurant who had everything ready for us first thing on our last morning when we had an early train to catch.

These comments are intended to be constructive rather than outright criticisms, because we would not hesitate to return, or recommend it to others. The breakfast was very basic; a one-egg omelette, previous day's bread, a pot of hot water to make your own hot drink and sachets of honey, jam, tea and coffee. It could have been a little more inventive and served, for example, freshly brewed coffee. The light in our room was very dim, making it difficult to read in the evenings.

We liked everything about El Nakhil! Staying on the west bank, in an authentic quiet Egyptian neighborhood was just right for us. Locals are very friendy.The hotel is quiet, a 2 minute walk to a small store that had items we needed, and it's easy access ( 5 to 10 min drive) to east bank sites like Luxor Temple and Karnack.  The hotel is clean, the Egyptian staff are very friendly and speak English.  The breakfast is wonderful,  the rooms are big. I look forward to staying there next year! It's a perfect home away from home. The hotel is under new management,  new owner.  It's been upgraded over the past six months.  It's a gem in Luxor!

The team is friendly and always ready to help. Great terrace restaurant for breakfast, meals [loved the fried eggplant] and a relaxing evening nightcap. The pool is also a great addition to cool down with a refreshing swim.

Just a tip of advice, really. Most hotel guests were Westerns as one would expect, but the alcoholic selection, especially the wine, was limited or inexistent. We would have spent much more time [and money[ in the restaurant terrace, had this been available. We ended up having drinks by the Nile bank restaurants 10 minutes down the road, where the beverage offer was far more substantial.

Beautiful hotel and pool. Rooms were very spacious and clean with high ceilings and beautiful wall art. Bathrooms very clean and spacious too. Upstairs is a restaurant with amazing food. All staff were so hospitable and welcoming, it felt like coming home to long lost family. Special shoutout to Abdullah who catered to our every need and question and also to Yousef who ran the restaurant, bringing wonderful customer service and food. Will definitely be staying here again when we return to Luxor.

It’s very clean the pool is cleaned daily. The food is excellent the best I ate in all of Egypt. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He took me to a hand woven cotton store and got me a discount. In Cairo I got ripped off by my hotel these folks operate on the completely opposite spectrum no scams no fraud just pure loving vibes and respect. Yasen is a great driver and host as well. The value for the money spent is excellent the property should be higher priced it is FANTASTIC

Even tho I spent just 1 night at the Hotel, they made sure I had the best time possible, and treated me not like a guest but more like a personal friend! :) Before I go I asked them if they had any tours of their own around Luxor, and what they did was actually a personalized tour, they made the whole itinerary themselves and sent it to me their suggestion, after a few adjustments, I quickly had a full day around Luxor organized for me! :D Even tho I had a late check-in, the very friendly Abdallah (the manager and same person who organized my tour) was waiting for me at the reception where I was welcomed with some tea. I did not had many hours to sleep since I had booked a Hot Air Balloon tour for 5am, but they made sure that at 4.30am while I was waiting for the tour van to pick me up that one of the reception staff would be waiting for me with some coffee. :) Once I finished the balloon tour I came back to the Hotel at around 7am, where I had their very good breakfast in the very big open balcony where they serve their meals. From there, I would start the tour organized by them around Luxor, where they first drove me to Kings Valley, after that we agreed it would be best for me to comeback to the Hotel, relax a little bit and have lunch before going to all other places. This means that even tho I had to check out that same day, they allowed me to stay longer in the room, past check out time. For lunch they had prepared more food then I could eat haha, they have a very good restaurant 👍 Afterwards they drove me through the rest of the tour to all other temples, and by the end of the day when I was done they even took me to the airport! Honestly I could be happier on how friendly and helpful they were to make sure I had the best time possible in Luxor! Thank you 🙏🏽 my friend Abdallah, for your so friendly hospitality.

Great little hotel, nice staff, nice pool. Good location not far from the ferry. We could stay in the room until early evening for a modest fee, which was great before taking the night train.

The booking of a balloon tour was not super convincing. The price did not seem good (especially after our tour was reschedulded), the tour operators apparently expected us to pay them (while we had already paid at the hotel) so we had a few discussions and had to insist a bit that they sort it out with the hotel themselves. But this is not a big issue, the staff who organized the tour was a trainee and was learning - this can happen, and our stay was very overall very enjoyable.

As well as Aswan, I can fully recommend in Luxor to stay on the west bank of the Nile. I am happy with my choice of this hotel, which is a true oasis of peace and tranquility. I couldn't believe that there is such a peaceful and pleasant place in Luxor that is also not overpriced. The staff is very nice and helpful and I can highly recommend the dinners from the local chef who cooks really well and tasty and is extremly helpful. The breakfasts were also absolutely perfect, with fresh fruit juice and plenty of food. After the hustle of Luxor, we were always happy to return to our room in the tranquility of the garden where all you could hear was the birds singing only. Locality around is extremly good for small shopping of food and meals with no annoying people. We felt safe to walk few km outside of the city.

This is a quiet location in a West Bank village with wonderful gardens. It's a short walk from the main road down narrow, residental dirt streets. People along the way are friendly enough if you speak to them but are not selling or hassling you along the way. The hotel itself is very peaceful. There is a restaurant with a good chef on the top floor. They also have a nice swimming pool. All of the staff are polite and eager to help. I will be staying at this hotel again. It's a restful oasis.

The breakfast is a bit sparse. Omlette, juice, breads, cheese, jam, yogurt, tea/coffee.

Breakfast was fresh flat breads with local cheese, honey and bananas with turkish coffee on request. Staying on the West Bank meant easy access to the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, & nobles tombs plus a village feel. The hotel is an easy walk from the Nile and ferry jettys.

At the time we visited (March 24), they didn't accept credit cards and we had to pay cash. It was unexpected, but we were easily able to get cash from the many ATMs around the city.
