Location is good, max 5 min to the beach and beach boulevard by walking. Room was big enough. Wide beds. Swimming pool was nice and not too crowded. We came from the airport by taxi but later realized that it is also quite convenient to take a tram to the airport. Hotel is located about 10 min walk away from the nearest tram station (close to Carrefour supermarket). After check-out it was possible to use the swimming pool and stay in common areas in the hotel. Also possible to leave the luggage at the reception.

When taking a shower, the bath room floor become very wet (and slippery). One towel was not enough to make it dry.

Close to the beach (just walk down the stairs and cross the street), and near a well-stocked shop, restaurants, and cafes. The tram stop is about a 10-minute walk away. Very friendly staff who speak English. Free Wi-Fi, paid parking at €10 per day, but you can easily find free parking in the nearby streets. Rooms are cleaned daily and offer a great sea view. The pool is clean and has a children's paddling area. A kettle is available upon request at the reception. The rooms have small fridges. Thank you for a wonderful holiday – we’ll definitely be back!

Breakfasts are inexpensive (€8.5 per person) but not great – limited variety of products and quite repetitive, but the coffee is good :)

Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff who we recognised from previous visits. Proximity to El Campello TRAM station. Elevated position gives good views from higher floors. Plentiful breakfast. Proximity to supermarket (Mercadona). We have known this hotel for a number of years: overall impression is that maintenance has improved considerably. Modest swimming pool is well looked after. Not the place for a hotel-based holiday but a great base for excursions and the nearby beach.

It's on a hill in a residential neighbourhood with a long flight of stairs down to the principal road and shops / restaurants / beach. Taking the elevator to the swimming pool level and then using a side door reduces the stairs by two thirds, but it's still not a good choice for those with impaired mobility. On site restuarant only serves breakfast. (The sister hotel on the beach front serves lunch and there is a wide choice of restaurants along the promenade).

From the moment we arrived the staff were professionnel and helpful. The view from our balcony was one of the best views I've ever had from a hotel. The pool was spotless and big enough to have a "proper" swim, and the hotel was a 5 minute walk from the beach, restaurants etc. There was a fridge in our room so we were able to keep drinks and snacks cold.

The balcony was very small (only room for a chair and a stool) and didn't receive sunlight at any time of the day, There was a communal balcony at the end of each corridor that did get sunlight at times, but had no furniture so couldn't be used. The pool was freezing cold in the morning but heated a little by the afternoon. However, these are small complaints. If we wanted to read our books in the sunshine, we just headed to the pool, and the view from the balcony over to the distant mountains made up for its size. Overall, we were very pleasantly surprised at how good the hotel was for the amount we paid.

-Excellent location in a nice, quiet residential area, a short walk from the beach, restaurants, shops and town centre. - We loved the view from our room on the third floor. We could see the town and the sea from our bed! - Very nice swimming pool area with plenty of lounge chairs. - The parking is right underneath the hotel, with direct access to rooms. - Everything was very clean and well-designed. - The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and we slept very well here. - It was nice to have a mini fridge in the room.

- The hotel seemed a bit understaffed, with staff having to run between the reception desk and the cafeteria to serve customers. - A bit more shade around the pool area would have been nice. - The little balcony gave us a lovely view, but unfortunately was too small for a table/chairs.

Location was very good for everything, bars restaurants ,beach,tram stop, supermarket ext. The staff were very polite and helpful ,when we asked about the tram stop to Benidorm the guy even came outside to point it out to us.. Didn't eat or drink at the hotel so can't comment on that. The room we were given was large with a large balcony and great sea views , great value for the money, The WiFi also worked well during our stay .Enjoyed a great few days in campello .

Would not recommend for some people with mobility issues, simply because of the area of the hotel .lots of steps at the side of the hotel down to the beach,but you can avoid them by walking a little further .As with a lot of hotels needs a little T.L.C.

I have stayed at Gallo Roja many times and I enjoy coming back time after time. The breakfast is always enjoyable, and the rooms and public areas always spotlessly clean. The location is good and the views outstanding. This room had great views looking eastward and most morning the sunrise was spectacular. The other facilities include the bar and restaurant, and I made good use of the pool, The underground parking is a great advantage. With only a short walk to the beach and promenade it is well located.

I have no dislikes or negative comments.

The staff were really helpful and welcoming. The location super close to the tram.

Normally a four star hotel has better appointed rooms with at least a coffee maker. Luckily it had a fridge but I missed my morning coffee without having to get dressed and go get it from their bar. It looks a bit run down which makes me wonder as it is in an excellent location. I’m sure it could be a bit better.

It’s a nice family run hotel Enjoyed pool & pool bar, small and not fancy but ideal Fantastic bathrooms and rooms with great fridge I upgraded to large terrace room which was amazing Omar is very helpful and friendly with good English

Nice room, excellent bathroom. General comfort and cleanliness were good.

TV could have had some English language channels. The breakfast was disappointing and the dining room decor rather tired. After ther first morning we went out for breakfast. The pool area (although out of use in winter) was rather plain, poorly designed and would have been disappointing in summer. There are a lot of steps needed to be negotiated up to the hotel from the sea front and main road although we found that the room key operated a useful gate at -2 garage level to minimise use of the steps.
