Staying at Hostal Jemasaca-Palma61 was one of the highlights of my trip to Madrid! This cozy and well-kept hostal exceeded all expectations — offering not just comfort, but a sense of calm and warmth in the middle of the bustling city. The location is perfect — just a short walk from Gran Vía and all the major attractions, restaurants, and nightlife. It made exploring Madrid so easy and enjoyable. The room was immaculately clean, thoughtfully decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were super comfy, the shower was powerful and hot, and everything felt peaceful and well maintained. What really made the difference, though, was the hospitality. The reception team was friendly, professional, and always ready to help — whether it was offering tips on where to eat, printing tickets, or simply greeting me with a smile each day. You can tell they really care about their guests. For anyone looking for a quiet, affordable, and centrally located place to stay in Madrid — Hostal Jemasaca-Palma61 is a fantastic choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Didn’t had an elevator. For me wasn’t a problem, but can be to others. Also, we paid 5€ each for breakfast to only receive a card and consume at a coffee outside. The menu there costs less than 5€…

The room was spacious, clean, and a good shower.

Before booking, the site said languages spoken included English. The lady who checked me in spoke no English. She used Google translate in her phone. There were no written instructions, which would have been helpful. The shutter was closed, so there was no natural light into the room. No instructions on how to open, and the reception lady didn't speak English, so I couldn't ask.

It was very cheap, clean, there was hot water in the shower, modern bathroom, pleasant staff… no complaints about the room

Something to note about several hostals in Madrid is that the entrance is just a random apartment door with entrances that are dirty and lifts that are scary if you go alone, and then the hostal is on a particular floor of that apartment building (not the whole building) … its ok if you are aware and accompanied but its not pleasant

One of the top hostels in the center of Madrid (yes, it is in the center. If you are American and can't walk more than 5 min, your opinion doesn't really matter). Room is modern, clean and very good price. Better than some 3 star hotels I've stayed. The fact that every time you get in you need to ring the main door and wait on the street if no one is there can be a little annoying, but on the other hand it means the place is safer than others and has 24 reception (with a person actually there all time)

Well located in Madrid near Plaza de Madrid. The breakfast deal is good value. Initially the hotel seemed somewhat downmarket, especially from the outside. The cardboard on the steps leading up gave a worse impression. However, fears were dispelled by the spotless room with clean, crisp sheets, a strong shower and a functioning air conditioner. Superb value for money at a busy time.

Maybe a more easily spotted sign might help.

The room was comfortable, but you could hear everything that went on in the other rooms, walls are very thin and not sound proof.

The stairs all the way to the hotel are very steep, if you have big luggages I would suggest not choosing this option and no one offered help with the luggage, staff was very minimal with their interactions and very serious.

The AC didn't work, and it was hot so we couldn't close the window but it was loud outside. You could improve that. Also be able to give 2 pair of key cards. To leave the card in the reception is not the best solution. Otherwise all was amazing! We lived the place.

Very nice location within walking distance from Madrid center and main streets, 10 minutes walking to Gran Via and to Puerta de Sol, Plaza Mayor,.... Easy access, there are stairs to reach the accommodation at the 3rd floor, no elevator. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and nice. comfy beds.

Location was good, price/quality ratio was not bad.Outside was not noisy and I had a good sleep.

Room and shower are too small. No ventilation in bathroom and in room also It is not difficult to place a trash bin in the room. The room was not looking very clean by the way
