They have a big common/lounge room area, with books and other things, and comfortable seating - really a very nice area. We were only staying a night so didn't use it but for those on a longer stay, or looking to rest and relax indoors more, that could be great. Staff very friendly and helpful, patient when we were digging around for passports for quite a while in rucksacks. We were a family of 4 - we were given a sort of 2-in-1 room situation - one main door to access, then two rooms, and bathroom in the middle. Which was a very nice bonus, we weren't all crammed into one as I'd expected when booking a quadruple. I don't know if that's how it always is there. Good location just a couple of streets back from the beach, near to bus stops and train station.

Nice view from requested room. Two lifts always available. Excellent house menu, 3 courses with corked bottle of red wine. €16.50 great value and most enjoyable. Staff friendly and efficient.

Small room with beds that need upgrading. Lighting in bathroom full. Breakfast coffee machine broken with very average coffee from urn. Variety of food could be better, totally opposite to delicious evening meal.

Stylish old hotel with flair and well located. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Good value at price (depending on the season).

Poor WiFi with disruptions in several rooms. Need of more access points and more IP capacity to avoid conflicts. Lots of noise from traffic in the rooms facing the street. Breakfast not recommended.,

The staff was really friendly and welcoming. We got an upgrade which we were extremely happy about. The shower water was hot and the pressure was great and powerful and we truly appreciated being able to open the windows in big or top. Plenty of room to store our clothes if needed, and fridges in the room.

Unfortunately this is an older building, while it comes with a ton of charm it also comes with non soundproof rooms. Our upstairs neighbors made a ruckus from 10pm till 11.30pm. Rearranging the furniture and walking with cement shoes on, just to start back again at 5.30 am until 7am.

Good location close to the beach and on the Camino del Norte. I enjoyed being able to have a bath after a day of walking. The hotel offers a good breakfast. They also have a very reasonably priced menu for dinner. As we wanted to leave early, 8:30pm start time for dinner was too late for us.

This hotel is on a quiet street 2 minutes from the seafront. The public spaces - lobby, resting and dining areas - are very well done, and resemble a parlour, drawing and dining room of a well-appointed home. I absolutely I loved the feel of it, and it made up for the small and rather basic room.

The lady who checked us in was better suited to a job as a supercilious bureaucrat or self-important schoolteacher than someone in the hospitality industry, supposed to be welcoming visitors from another country!!

This plus 100 yr old period Hotel fr another time has collected different updates over the decades that adds to the unusual but eclectic charm given its long vintage. From the collection of odd books , historic reading materials, different styled chairs to several quaint children’s plays areas that small kids would enjoy, this old hotel feels like a generational family run property. The rooms reflect their 1903 design when touring travellers had less space & size expectations & yet the bathroom was totally updated w new tiling including a spotless bidet & full bath. The modest old hallways are all finished in beautiful original mahogany doors, trims & casings, something you would only find in an older period hotel. I read some comments about to hotel being old & tired, but we found the layout, decor & period peculiarities kind of endearing especially for its non- mega hotel chain , more modest family run vintage. With all the above, inc a very reasonable 16€ set dinner menu with wine & dessert, we found our Mar 2023 stay at Hotel Zarauz, excellent value for money. A strong recommend for those with an eye for interesting.

The paid breakfast was a little weak on quality baked goods, proteins & perhaps, oatmeal or granola.

Check-In was fast and they recommended good restaurants around. Room had a small balcony - that was bonus I liked - beautiful views to mountains. Room was not so big but it had all that was needed. Check-Out was fast in the morning.

It was weekend and some quests did not respect other customers - so noise around hallways - not all night.

Excellent hotel, we were very satisfied with our family room. All the staff in the hotel is helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful, clean, spacious and they have nice play areas for kids. The hotel is good located close to everything you need and close to the beach. Moreover it is quiet and we slept very well. We extended our stay with 4 days and like to come back.

We liked everything.

Location was excellent, room was clean and comfortable. I arrived in Zarauz on a busy weekend without a reservation but the staff was able to accommodate me with a room. I was thankful for this maybe not the best room but it fit the bill with the price. Nice place close to beach and places to eat I would stay there again.
