The Alfred Hotel is truly a jewel nestled in the heart of Paris. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a timeless dream—elegant, welcoming, and rich with character. Its location is unbeatable: just steps away from Galeries Lafayette, surrounded by charming restaurants, and within easy walking distance of the Louvre and other iconic landmarks. The rooms are stunning—each one beautifully designed with a sense of 19th-century nobility, yet infused with modern charm and comfort. It truly felt like we were living a page out of history, but without sacrificing any of today’s conveniences. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting the owner himself. He personally welcomed us and shared the touching history of the hotel, which has been in his family for generations. That personal connection made the experience even more special. My mom and I took this trip together, and I couldn’t have asked for a more magical setting. Breakfast was included and absolutely delicious, served in an indoor terrace that looked like it belonged on a postcard—peaceful, picturesque, and the perfect way to start the day. Every detail at The Alfred Hotel is thoughtful and charming. It’s not just a place to stay—it’s an experience. I can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to return.

Very charming boutique hotel in the heart of paris a 5 minute walk to Rue saint honore where you can shop and dine. Hotel is very clean and employees are all very helpful. Definitely add the breakfast to your package. There’s a lovely room looking at the garden. The hotel is overall so charming and lovely! The bathrooms have been renovated and are quite large. Overall I love the hotel !

Unique property with a very calm ambience in an excellent location. The staff were charming especially the concierge, Maeva, who arranged many excellent restaurants and events for us. We had the opportunity to meet with the hotel owner, Mr Richard De Warren, who took time to share the very interesting history of the property which has been in his family since 1860. Mr De Warren has done an outstanding job in converting the family mansion into a hotel. The wonderful period features have been retained and all modern amenities incorporated with focus on attention to detail. He must be very proud of what he’s accomplished. The garden was beautiful and provided a serene setting for breakfast and dinner.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

The hotel is super well placed in Paris, it provides a lot of privacy and is very charming. Breakfast is very nice both because of the interiors but also because the selection is pretty nice with excellent scrambled eggs, local yoghurts (it might not catch your eye, but it is definitely sth to try). The rooms are as you would expect them, with high ceilings and good, comfortable beds. The digital artwork in the rooms is a bit of an acquired taste, but they are alright. Not everything was ideal in the room, though. There was a problem with cold water pressure in our room (it was very low, so it was impossible to get good pressure without the water being insanely hot), and the coffee machine didn't work. Neither of these were addressed by the hotel staff in the 5 days we spent in the hotel (and we did point them out). The staff was very professional otherwise and the hotel is well maintained, clean and neat (except from a pillow case which was once randomly left next to a lamp in our room). We especially appreciated the daily minibar replenishment and the room tour we got at the arrival. We do think we would stay here again, I can't express how nice the location of this hotel is, however I would hope some of the quirks were sorted by then.

It's one of few family owned 5-star hotels in the heart of Paris. The house was full of stories! I had the honor to meet the owner Richard when I checked in, and he extended a warm welcome by personally taking me on for a little tour and sharing some family stories. I would suggest the hotel to offer some program for a day trip to Vaux-le-Vicomte as it is owned by the same family! Lovely stay, smiling staff, and a true feeling of the history of Paris yet so close to everything.

Loved the property, loved the location. And the owner, Richard, sat with us chatting in the bar for over an hour on two separate occasions which made our stay feel very personal. We will definitely be back!

The TVs in the rooms don’t have cable and don’t have the ability to log into any streaming services. There were a few nights we wanted to watch historical films about a he places we were visiting, or a movie and it would have been nice to connect. The room also smelled of cigarettes which I think is honestly to be expected in Paris (I don’t think they were smoking in the room, probably the balcony). I know there are some people who would have had a bigger issue with it than we did. So, it might be nice to have a block of rooms that are exclusively non smoking so as not to catch anyone off guard.

The hotel is located in the best spot in Paris. It's really close to all the main attractions including Opera, Madelaine, etc, just a few minutes away from the Metro. The room was very clean and the staffs are friendly.

During check-in, the reception gave us the wrong room to us, so we opened the door and found another guest in the room (poor guy). Also, I did ask for some room services such as a wine glass, and wine opener, or asked for some help with the air conditioner, however, the service never comes.

The building is beautiful. The staff were exceptional - charming, helpful, friendly and very cheerful. They made us feel very special.

Such a minor thing but I would have really appreciated somewhere to hang a long coat. The wardrobe didn’t have a long enough drop and I didn’t want to put wet coats in there anyway. A hook near the door would have been perfect. (I ended up using the hook in the bathroom but that was not ideal)

Our stay at hotel Alfred Sommier was wonderful. All of the staff were excellent, five star service. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and the food was wonderful as well as the service. The concierge was great and had wonderful recommendations for restaurants as well as helped us get a reservation at a restaurant that was difficult for us to make on our own. The staff all remembered our names and would always ask how we were doing and if there was anything they could assist us with. We met the owner as well who was very kind. This hotel treats you as family not just as a guest paying for a room to stay. The location is excellent, easy to walk to gallery Lafayette and other shopping as well as about one mile from the louvre. Easy access to metro as well. Will definitely come back again and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Paris.
