I loved this resort. Puerto aventuras is a very nice little village and the hotel is very nice with updated big rooms. The entire staff is amazing, from the cleaning service to the people working at the restaurants and at the local tour agency. The entertainment team really engages everyone in all the activities. A special mention to Irving and Marlene for their attitude towards all the guests. The private beach is small but kept clean from sea weed. It requires water shoes for an easier access. There are two buffet with plenty of good options for several types of food. There are also restaurants, which are easy to book every day (contrary to what other people mentioned in the past).

BLoved restaurant charges you 15 dollars and food is not better than buffet. Also, they do not include you drinks and you have to pay extra. We ended up paying 100 dollars for 2 people meal. Unreasonable in an all inclusive concept and again food was not good. Pools are not climated, all day very cold water.

Buffet was great (specially breakfast), theme restaurants were very good, staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable. We also visited the spa and had a great experience: The hydrotherapy was very complete and my masseuse Margarita was excellent. Finally, we had the bad luck of having hurricane Beryl hitting during the last day of our stay, but I must say the hotel was very profesional on dealing with the event, they made us feel very safe at all times and provided a breakfast and lunch boxes directly to our rooms during the storm.

The one thing I disliked is the private beach area, which was a little rocky for a Caribbean beach. We stayed in the pool for the most part

Beautiful grounds and location. Room were very clean and quickly cleaned daily.

Beds were extremely hard. They seemed like new mattresses so maybe they will break in a bit over time. Our room was a little warmer and humid than we cared for. Made our clothes become wet in the suitcases over time. We did call maintenance and they attempted to fix but it did not correct the issue. Temp never fell below 20.5c Most of the bartenders lacked personality. They seemed overwhelmed and not happy to be there. Many times said they couldn’t make a certain drink. Pretty much only stuck to the bar menu that was provided, which was lacking variety.

The resort is well laid out so that you're close to everything regardless of what room you're in. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The resort was full, but it didn't feel overcrowded. We enjoyed the food and the variety of choices.

The room had some minor maintenance issues like the toliet running and the wooden trim being worn in places. If you like a long beach to walk on, this isn't the place to stay, but we knew that from the map we saw prior to booking. The beach that's there is nice and good for swimming.

Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort has a great selection of restaurants to choose from for dinners throughout our stay. There are a number of activities to engage with its guests too.

I would have appreciated to be more informed about "privileged" and "Exclusive" guest members and the perks they get in terms of access to some areas in the resort. While it was not entirely the fault of the resort as I could have done my research on this, it would have still be nice to be given a chance to rethink this after checking in.

Good option in terms of cost efficiency if you plan to go out during a day for water park or tours. Good to have several big pools and great to have beach for snorkeling and kayaking. There are lots of fish and there is very little wave and the it is pretty swallow & calm to snorkel with kid.

Dinner reservation is very awful. I tried to book a dinner for 4 nights at 8am every morning, but I have not made it successully. I needed to go to the dinner place every night and wait for the dinner to see whether there is any cancelation. Buffet restaurant is always available, but the quality was not good as other restaurants which I need to book. The room condition on the 1st floor was very humid and smelled like moss, so I asked to change the room, but I needed to wait for a night. Second floor was much better the day after, but the first night on 1st floor was very disappointing. The staff’s help to change the room was helpful, but some of the staff at the front desk was very disappointing too. It needs to be improved.

The room was updated on the riviera Maya side and very comfortable. The entertainment staff was super friendly. Shoutout to Carla. Our daughter loved the Moana show. Great music and games all over the resort. The safe community of puerto Aventuras is a nice plus to tour around off resort was also a plus. The food was very good and service staff excellent. The seafood grill on the beach was a nice touch. The hotel is eco conscious with glass bottles of filtered water they re stock for guests daily. The drinks are also served in re usable cups that can be washed. This is what set Catalonia apart for us. We will be back.

We would have liked more nights of kid friendly shows because the night of the dead looked liked an awesome show but our daughter was too scared to watch. Great performers however. We were very impressed with the choreographies, costumes, acting in Moana show.

The hotel is perfect. We went there for our honeymoon, and it was amazing. The staff really looked after us, there were so many small things which made us feel special, such as the lovely cocktails during the check-in, a bottle of champagne with fruits in our room, the sign 'just got married' on our doors, the lovely maid who always left funny creatures from the towels on our bed, the cocktails which always looked and tasted perfect and many, many more. The animators were fantastic, we caught a great bond with them and took part in plenty of exciting and funny competitions & games every day. They made all guests feel very comfortable and put us in a great mood. We had truly amazing time during our honeymoon and would like to say thank you to all staff.
