Our room was ready when we arrived in the morning which was a bonus. Hotel was lovely and clean - and smelt delightful! Room was more spacious than expected based on reviews. Beds were extremely comfortable, fantastic air conditioning, very quiet rooms and large bathroom.

There were few negatives - I did feel it was a little pricey and some of the staff on reception and in the bar could have been more welcoming. The bar table service was particularly poor as the waiter barely seemed to listen and we felt rushed.

Luggage kindly kept for me after booking out but wrong small case similar to mine was attached to my bundle! Obviously I noticed it -lucky!

Very happy with my room once I had upgraded (See comment below) The breakfast was lovely and an excellent selection. Perfect location as my granddaughter was getting married at Emmanuel College. The bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch too.

As I was travelling alone I booked a "Cosy Room". I was extremely disappointed when checking in to be told that the Cosy Room was so cosy it didn't have a window! I had no other choice but to upgrade at an extra cost. When I booked the room there was no mention about the room not having a window and I think you should make this very clear.

Great location and overall very pleasant stay. The staff tried to be thoughtful and gave me a room with a view over the main street, but since it was graduation season and everything was quite busy, I asked to change to a quieter room. The staff handled the request promptly and kindly.

Daily cleaning had several shortcomings. I had to solve them myself by approaching the staff in the corridor and bringing the missing items to the room on my own. Also, the room lighting system was very confusing and not intuitive at all.

The room was very stylish and comfortable, well appointed and extremely clean. The staff at check in and the cleaning staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The location is superb to explore the city.

I thought the breakfast could have been better served, there were several food stations to help oneself with a random way to organise things. Both coffee and tea were very weak, we didn't drink either and I would have expected smoked salmon to be offered. The staff didn't clear things off the table so I did it myself as there was no space on our table. However staff were friendly, polite and smiley.

The location is conveniently central for exploring Cambridge town center, though it's a bit farther from the train station. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is beautiful, featuring a lovely library perfect for working or dining. Breakfast was delightful, and while the room was standard, it boasted nice decor, ample space, and good amenities. Overall, a pleasant experience!

Unfortunately, the housekeeping could use some attention. During my five-day stay, I noticed that the floors weren’t vacuumed regularly, and there was accumulated dust in the room. Given the price we paid, I expected more in terms of cleanliness. Aside from that, my overall experience was good. Just a bit more focus on housekeeping would elevate the stay!

Room, decor

Breakfast was an absolute shambles. No eggs, no sausages, bacon was rock hard and beans were cold. It was a task to find cutlery like a teaspoon. No small plates for the toast. The orange juice urn ran out. I have had better breakfast experiences at back street cafes. Service in the resident's bar was a little slow. University Arms please address this. It might be a one-off occurance but for a hotel of such a high calibre this should not happen or at least be rectified within minutes. Careful consideration will be made before returning or recommending.

The room was exceptional, very comfortable and had a touch of luxury. The ensuite bathroom and shower were spacious and very easy to use, and were also very luxurious. Having a dog friendly room was also a welcome option and our four-legged friend was made very welcome.

The breakfast was a little disappointing. The staff were clearly working very hard and all credit to them for dealing with the busy morning period on a Bank Holiday weekend. However, for the price paid, and the quality of everything else in the hotel, the cooked breakfast wasn't quite to the same standard. Bacon was undercooked and not great cuts and detracted from what was otherwise a very good offering. Orange juice from the buffet, which was otherwise a very good selection, tasted like it was from concentrate and was disappointing for a hotel which was otherwise excellent.

Very welcoming and efficient staff on reception in the beautiful lobby, we had a nice room overlooking the park (as booked). The shower was great! Parker's Tavern is also beautifully restored with very good staff, a nice and varied menu and lovely bar. A great place to hang out and eat at the end of a long day. Location is good and only a few minutes to the centre of town. My husband used the gym and ran around Parker's Piece. It's pricey (as most hotels in Cambridge) but well worth it. We'll be staying there again.

The location is excellent. However, we had bid for an upgrade for a room with a view of the park. We paid for the upgrade, but we didn't get the view, we were at the exact opposite, overlooking a small street.

It is a great building, and it has been refurbished over the years. As I was familiar with the original University Arms Hotel, this Marriott hotel is a standard remake that could be found anywhere in the world.
