Great location, friendly staff, spacious room and comfy beds, restaurant and buffet breakfast was really good and lots of choice. The little touches for children too, colouring in sheets, crayons, packs when you check in and green band to pick a treat from the bar. Little things that make a difference and would 100% recommend to friends and family and will return in the future! Lovely scenery also and best location for visiting Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks and not far from Chester city centre. Great for families and kids.

Parking is tight at the bottom car park and we were stuck by a bin lorry which was fine as we weren't in a rush but not alot of room the way cars park on the side and no room to manoeuvre if there isn't a space.

Fabulous location with so much to see and do without travelling very far. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It was our 40th wedding anniversary the day we arrived and the lovely lady at reception gifted us free drinks from the bar which was totally unexpected and incredibly kind. The breakfast was really good and everything we tried was delicious. We've visited in the past (many years ago) but will definitely be back. The swimming pool water was blissfully warm!

The pool was small and not surprisingly overrun with children. Not a pool for swimming in really, so we only used it once as having rheumatoid arthritis I was anxious of being kicked which would exacerbate pain levels. We had dinner in the restaurant on our 2nd night, Bank Holiday Monday. The restaurant was busy but even so we had to wait 50+ minutes for our salads. Also, both tables, either side of us had the wrong children's meals delivered which was unusual. The staff were lovely though so I can only assume it was issues in the kitchen on that day.

We stayed here for the weekend as we went to Creamfields. We’ve stayed here previously before for Creamfields and came back again. The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The reception staff asked if we were going to Creamfields and when we said yeah they told us to have a good time😊 when checking out they asked if we’d had a good weekend. We weren’t bothered for having our room cleaned as we were there for 2 nights but when we came back from Creamfields on the Saturday there was a brown bag outside our door with clean towels/new tea bags, this was lovely!

Comfy bed and air condition. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. However on our second day the cooked breakfast could well have been hotter. The bacon to our liking was not cooked sufficiently. We elected to have dinner at the hotel in the evening, and were a little disappointed with our choice of meals. I had spaghetti, and my wife had a pizza. The spaghetti source was very bland, and the portion size meagre. The pizza size was generous, yet the taste again was bland. Insufficient sauce base, and a lack of cheese with a strength of flavour. The location was fine. A pleasant outlook onto the canal area. This is our second visit to this hotel and I would recommend a stay here. Very convenient for Chester and its many attractions. Ideal for families with children, as kids stay free, and are entitled to free breakfast.

Room was very clean. Nice that they have air conditioning in now. Clean towels each day, stayed 2 nights. Plenty of plug sockets with USB plugs too. Beds were very comfortable and spacious. Nice clean bedding too. The view was nice of the old dock. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and fresh. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Plenty of parking available too. A nice quiet, tranquil location yet only a few minutes from the town centre and Cheshire Oaks shopping.

The shower wasn't the most powerful but it did the job. They could do a little more outside with potted plants, makes it a bit nicer to sit out on an evening. Speaking of outside, fit a proper door rather than using the fire exit door, would make it more welcoming to guests to sit out and enjoy their drinks.

Hotel staff were great. Everyone we encountered were great with us and our children. On arrival they were fab with the children and there was some Easter colouring in the lobby. Staff at breakfast were great, the breakfast food was really nice. I’m a bit funny with cooked breakfast food but it looked nice and tasted nice. It was my daughter’s birthday and I felt everyone queen above and beyond to ensure she felt really special and had an amazing time during our stay. Only reason review isn’t 100% amazing was that the key card kept playing up and we had to go down and get it re-set a few times. Absolutely brilliant experience for the price. Comfy double beds x two where as many family rooms have one double and one sofa bed or two single beds.

This is the third Holiday Inn we have stayed in this year, almost stopped using them after bad experience in Bolton, poor receptionist, she had never heard the words "Customer Service". We had already booked for Belfast and that was good so gave the Ellesmere port a chance and glad we did. this was excellent, staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble and they had enough staff not running on a skeleton crew, accommodation was comfortable and breakfast was really nice, having the canals around it was a bonus, good to see swans passing by

I had an issue with trying to get your WiFi on to my phone I went down to the front desk and a member of yours staff was on the computer she totally ignored me she didn’t even say I’ll be with you in a minute it was totally embarrassing standing and getting totally ignored so I said to her I’ll try and sort it myself and walked away other than this individual the rest of the staff especially the staff in the restaurant were excellent

Rooms were spotless clean and beds very comfortable.our breakfast on the 3 mornings was fresh and a great selection.We had our evening meal in the restaurant one one night and it was gorgeous.Staff were so friendly and helpful we will definitely be returning again.

Our electricity tripped turned off in our room around midnight when my husband turned off the plug in heater we rang reception and it was sorted within minutes but I got up at 2am and we had none again so I used the light on my phone to make my way to the toilet and back to bed again as we didn't want to call reception at the hour of the morning.

Very close to Cheshire Oaks. Friendly staff, limited selection on menu in evening but what we had was lovely and staff very helpful. Breakfast was lovely plenty of choice and always topping it up. Lovely view while eating breakfast again morning staff very helpful. 24 hour bar which was nice so we could sit and chat rather then just being in the room. Great size tv and channel choice. Comfy bed and clean room. Love the fact there is a bath too! Dove toiletries

Booked swimming which was cancelled when we got there. This was a shame as this hotel was specifically selected so daughter could have a swim and coming away shopping for the night was her Xmas present. Parking could be an issue we got the last spot so not sure where you’d park if it’s full.
