I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The twin room was impressively spacious as well as the bathroom, spotless, and very comfortable—the beds and pillows made for a great night’s sleep. The location is also excellent, just a short 5-minute taxi ride from the city centre, which made it really convenient. Breakfast was tasty and a lovely way to start the day to cure a hangover, and I have to mention how friendly and helpful the receptionist was—it made the whole experience even more welcoming. Overall, a great stay and I’d happily return.
The only downsides to my stay were a few small details. The hairdryer kept cutting out, possibly due to overheating, which made it frustrating to use. Breakfast was nice, but I felt the portions could have been a little bigger (for example, two of everything would have been better), and the toast tended to arrive too early, so it went cold before the rest of the food came out. I also found the shower a little tricky to get to a comfortable temperature. Parking was another issue, as there weren’t many spaces available and we had to park outside nearby houses.

Lovely Easter Weekend Stay We had a wonderful stay at the Brookside Hotel over the Easter weekend. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were welcoming and friendly, even showing us personally to our room which was a lovely touch. Later in the evening, when our room key stopped working, the gentleman on reception was quick to resolve the issue and kindly offered us complimentary drinks at the bar — excellent customer service! The room itself was spotless, with a very comfortable bed that made for a great night’s sleep. Breakfast the next morning was delicious — the full English was cooked to order and arrived promptly, hot and fresh. Overall, we felt it was great value for money, and we’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
There wasn’t anything to not like.

Location was good for my needs. I had easy access throughout my weeks stay. Breakfast was good with plenty choice. Bed comfortable. Hotel and room access was good with credit card size key. Plenty parking was available.
Room was on the small size. Toilet seating position was a bit awkward. Very little shower pressure coming out of the head. No soap dish in shower cubicle. Access to shower cubicle was a wee bit small for me. Road noise from passing vehicles was a bit annoying.

When did Chester get so expensive (and busy)? I just wanted somewhere convenient and comfortable for a single night. A few days before my trip things were not looking good and then Brookside delivered. A proper hotel - with a staffed reception, comfortable room, excellent breakfast, all I needed in the way of facilities and at a price more attractive than driving home to Birmingham and back the next day. Impressed with sound proofing - next room had the radio on loud on Sunday morning but I only heard this while on my way to breakfast.
Not a problem for me - but if you have mobility issues see if they can reserve a spot in the small parking area. You'll find somewhere on the street to park but it might be a fair walk. I'd have liked a power socket near the bed - we have so many things needing charging nowadays.

The hotel is very well presented inside. Very comfortable downstairs with a small bar area. The staff are all very friendly and made us feel welcome. Our room was lovely with all the usual tea making facilities, hair dryer and TV etc. But it was cosy, which made all the difference. The breakfast was very nice and made to order. We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening and it was exceptional. All this and a 15 minute walk into Chester made for a lovely, relaxed stay.
Nothing of note really.

A free room upgrade was appreciated. The room was large clean and the bed comfortable. Slept well plus a really quiet peaceful night. Close to Chester a 20 minute walk for two elderly slow people. Free parking is a bonus . The breakfast was a belly filler which is my favourite kind. The staff are fantastic and although busy still had a bit of a banter. The room had a lovely tapestry/ picture above bed.
This is an old hotel. The decor reflects this . I only mention this as some people only want pastel colours. I actually preferred our room as it was. Bed was a little creaky ok for us sod the neighbours 😜. No lift which again wasn’t a problem for us.

The best value for money I've ever experienced. We got a gorgeous 4 poster bed with a large bathroom, both continental and full English breakfast and a 3 course meal for £75.00 each. Location is around a mile from the city centre, approximately 20 minute walk.
Some of the facilities in the room need maintenance. The parking is very tight. First come, first serve basis. But for such a central location to even have a carpark is unique. Just leave early, leave your car and let the staff know and go and explore the city until check in.

Very welcoming staff, nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Food was very good with a good evening menu. I had a little surprise when we got back on the Sunday as it was my birthday they had put a card with chocolates in my room, such a lovely touch. You are not too far from town and near a good bus route ideal for zoo&cheshire oaks shopping.
Room was a bit cold but it was very cold weather and they did supply a fan heater and extra blankets.

Very good to have comfortable seating areas downstairs. I enjoyed the breakfasts and a snack at the bar. I found it easy to walk into the city and to the station when I left. There is a very pleasant place to sit outside with a drink or a book.
The undersheet on the bed didn't fit properly and made the bedding dishevelled. I ran out of tea bags; the lady serving breakfast said the chambermaid would supply more but I never got them. I noticed that a couple who came to breakfast after me were served before me and the other solo guests. These were small grouses: everything else was fine.

I stayed here three weeks. I loved every minute. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept on while traveling. I mostly enjoyed the quiet in and out of the hotel. The staff were lovely. I felt like I was home while away. I would stay here again. They even made me a sandwich for my trip back to London Heathrow. Thank you Anna and all staff.
My only suggestion would be to tell travelers when construction is expected in the area. Fortunately, it didn't last long.
