Friendly staff. Sufficient parking. About 20 minute walk to city centre. Quiet location of hotel. Breakfast was OK.

Small bed and too warm in the room. Even with an open window hardly any ventilation.

The building is beautiful and very well cared for. Our room (number 2) was lovely. Very comfortable bed and large bathroom. The proximity to good restaurants and into Chester is very good. We also walked up to the zoo, but there is a local bus for the less energetic.

Having to be told where to sit for breakfast. We stayed Monday to Friday and the breakfast room was never full, but except for 1 morning we were told to sit at a small table for 2 when there were slightly bigger tables for 3 people available. It's annoying when we asked for one of those the answer was no, but the next couple were given one. The bedroom could have done with more lighting eg desk lamp and standard lamp..

The property was clean and tidy and plenty of room with tea and coffee facilities and biscuits, et cetera so yeah really pleased with the stay

The only thing we didn’t like about the hotel was there was no thermostat controlled in the room and when we woke up in the morning the heating wasn’t on and a hot water wasn’t working so we had to rush around. We had to go and get breakfast first, which was lovely but then report the no heating or hot water and then we had to come back so yeah I didn’t. We didn’t look very scrubbed up when we went for breakfast But they should really I think maybe a telephone in the room that you can get through to reception and report any problems, but apart from that, yes we did have an enjoyable stay and we would come back.

We stayed in a chalet which was lovely. 2 adults and a teenager. Our son had a double bed which was great. The room was immaculate. Condiments were of great quality. Sheets clean and beds comfortable.

Although not a great problem but the shower was very noisy when it started and not very powerful but certainly not a deal breaker. Also the breakfast wasn’t fully ready when we left on the Sunday. Half of the hot food came out when we left. I also found it strange that the lady was quite abrupt about telling people to use the tongs for toast. However very welcoming when entering breakfast.

Breakfast was decent but not much space in dining area which resulted in a staff member seating a couple we’d not met before at our table without asking us if it was ok. We actually had a laugh with the couple seated with us but I find it a bit strange how the staff handled the situation we have never stayed anywhere where this has happened before .Maybe they should have slots for guests to attend breakfast and this could make breakfast more pleasant for people who may find such a situation awkward.

Really pleasant B&B, close to the city centre. I took an Uber to the city centre, but it took almost as long as walking it, so I walked back - it's a straight road directly from the city. There's a decent sized car park, the road outside can get quite busy, but you can't hear it from the rooms. The room was small-ish, enough room for a double and to walk around it, a desk and not much more, so great for sole travellers or couples. The en suite was nice. It was clean, well-decorated and well-stocked - plenty of tea and coffee. Overall a good find, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Staff were super friendly and welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, warm, with a lovely bathroom, excellent shower, everything we could want. We liked the guest lounge, there was plenty of tourist information available, the breakfast was lovely - we are vegetarian and they were incredibly helpful and obliging. It was easy walking distance from the rail station - about 14 minutes - and we walked into the city centre on each of the three days we were there.

The guest house and hotel are situated on a busy main road - and our room was right at the front. BUT it was excellently insulated and we had comfortable peaceful nights' sleep.

The location was good. Close to local restaurants which were only a short walk away. The room was clean with tea making facilities provided (including biscuits and crisps). Small fridge provided as well. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. Lots of choice from cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cakes and cooked options were scrambled or fried eggs which you could add to the self serve bacon, sausage, baked beans, tomatoes and mushrooms. The quality was very very good. Would recommend to anyone.

Fresh towels daily would have been nice. Stain on one pillow case and the bathroom floor mat was a bit off putting.

We both booked this hotel as we wanted to visit Chester Cathedral and it was only a 20 minute walk in to town. Free parking which is always good. The lady who welcomed us was so informative about all the places to eat near by and how to get into town. When she showed us the room, we both liked it so much we decided to book another night. Chester city itself was an unexpected jewel and we loved the history and architecture. Great breakfast too!

Friendly, helpful staff - greeted us by name on arrival. We had Room 2 which had a very spacious bathroom. Loved the roll top bath and the large separate shower cubicle. Comfortable bed and really appreciated a lightweight duvet appropriate to summer weather. Great to have 2 armchairs, as well as the desk/table chair. Good breakfast choice, even for me as a vegan. The first place we've stayed where there has been such a good choice and variety of fresh fruit at breakfast. Location was very handy for walking into the town centre and also very easy access back onto the motorway. Would happily stay again if in the area.

Wi-fi could have been better. Some traffic noise but we were aware the hotel was on a main road into the city, so this was to be expected.
