I loved the size of the room, the way the housekeeping was brilliant at providing extra items such as tea, coffee, sugar and milk. The food was good and the kettle in the room was a bonus.

The bath in the room was small and tight, as a bigger woman (size 20) it was a tight squeeze and my husband who is 5ft 8 couldn't lay back without his feet over the end. The staff was very blunt, was told we could leave sandwiches in the fridge by the phone and then when we arrived we were told we couldn't. A small fridge would be ideal. I can only drink skimmed milk but the availability was semi skimmed or oat. For the price of the room, breakfast even confectionery breakfast (toast, cereal) should have been included.

Easy to locate, met by pleasant bar staff at check in which was easy & quick. Room located upstairs & quite far from reception Room facilities were all I required for one night stay. Nice powerful shower 🚿, comfortable bed 🛌 & quiet through night. Enjoyed my breakfast in the bar downstairs. Handy for attending nearby Oulton park for bike 🏍 racing 🏁.

Bar area was fine but once you went up the stairs you could see it needs decorating. Room was fine but again, could do with a refresh. Windows still have the steel window frames which the closing bar was broken. Upon having a shave in the sink prior to getting a shower 🚿, I could not get any hot water out of the tap in the sink but I could get hot water in the shower! Overall, fine for one nights stay.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. The gentleman who booked us in (Ginge), was funny, informative and extremely helpful. He had banter but was still professional. The lady who served us breakfast every morning was polite and also very helpfully. The bar staff were also polite and helpful. We also liked how each night there was a special offer on the menu.

The tv kept playing up as the aerial plug was broken, so some channels couldn't be watched. But it certainly didn't spoil the stay and we'd definately come back.

The room was comfortable and peaceful. The bathroom was massive! There were some good breakfast options. I found it handy to have car parking on site, and the proximity of the main road made it easy to get to Great Barrow during the day. It was also easy to get from the hotel to Chester Station and City Centre.

I would have preferred a walk in shower rather than climbing into the bath tub, though the shower itself was good. In one or two places, the decor in the room could have done with a little bit of love, but none of this detracted from my stay.

The location was only a ten minute flat walk to the train station. We caught the train to Liverpool for a very interesting day. The adjoining pub had a great family atmosphere with a beautiful outdoor area at the back. Free parking front and back. We could have walked to the town centre of Chester but chose this drive and use paid parking. Walked on the wall and enjoyed the wonderful buildings. Found a pub ‘Off the Wall’ for lunch. It was away from the Main Street which had very few pubs. Our room was no.1 a spacious twin room on the ground floor which was very comfortable.

As others have said, the shower was extremely weak. We ordered the continental breakfast on the three mornings which was very convenient but a little disorganised. We had to ask for fruit for the cereal and on one morning the croissants were cold. However, the pros outweighed the cons and we would stay again.

The room and facilities were basic but tidy and did the job when travelling for work. Chose this place for the great free parking for a van, which seemed impossible with other places. The staff were brilliant, really friendly and up for a laugh. The pub was cosy and had a good range of beers and other drinks, and was. Loads of screens to watch the football on with other fans. Good brisk walk into Chester that took about 15-20 minutes.

Breakfast options were limited when compared to other chains but don't let that put you off at all.

The rooms are idea if you are working nearby, or if you want to stay near to Chester. they are clean and have Coffee etc. there are ground floor rooms for the less able bodied traveller. despite being in a pub, noise isn't an issue. The staff were great, and the beer and food were all really good too. It is also near the Millennium gateway which goes all the way to Wales if you like running or cycling. The path is an old railway that has been converted and makes a nice route which is car free.

I was happy with everything. parking our massive pickup was tricky but that was due to other peoples parking attempts and not really the hotels fault

The room was very clean , we had good facilities the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent very tasty particularly the breakfast wraps absolutely delicious highly recommended. The beds were comfy. However, the bed in the double room we had wasn't very spacious for the two of us. We will, however, definitely stay here again in future trips to chester. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The room we had was great but felt like we needed a bigger bed it was more of a small double than a double bed we expected it to be so if we would stay again we would definitely opt for the more bigger rooms you have. We also noticed during our stay that our bedding wasn't changed at all we felt like it was just re made with the same bedding as it had the same brown stain on the bedding so id say there are definitely room for improvement in the Housekeeping areas, other than that, it was a lovely stay.

Great location, good value breakfast included, bed was spacious and comfortable, room a good size.

The window probably needs replacing: a slight draught was noticed when closed. The wooden frame looked like it needs replacing due to its age. As we stayed in the summer, this was not an issue however. The curtains would also benefit from replacement; slight damage at the rail and potentially could be thicker.

Location was perfect. About a 15 minute walk into Chester. 10 minute car journey to Chester Zoo. Ample car parking. Food was excellent, great value for money. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Room was comfortable.

We were in Room 3. There is a large window, but no view. The wall outside blocks any sunlight coming through so the room is plunged into darkness. This wasn't an issue for us as we spent most of the days out but may be an issue for others, especially those suffering with SAD.
