Short walk from the train station and was very easy to find. Good value for money. Great location in the city centre, not too far from the shops, bars and restaurants, surprisingly quiet given the location. The room was clean, tidy, and spacious. Our bed was extremely comfy. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The hotel offers extra complimentary items at no charge in case you have forgotten anything that was brilliant. There was a wide variety and good choice of breakfast food. Also, there were takeaway bags and cups provided if you needed to make up a breakfast and go. Would highly recommend staying here, and I would definitely stay here again.

I was really pleased with the air conditioning in my room, as the weather was very hot and the room remained nice and cool. There was also a small fridge, which is a great addition. There were plenty of plug points to charge my devices, etc., one being right next to the bed. The breakfast offering was plentiful, and the staff were pleasant.

There was a terrible sofa in the room , which really needs to be disposed of. It really was bad (full of huge stains and marks). The room would look so much better without it. It didn't affect my stay, as I didn't need to use it, although a nice sofa would perhaps come in handy if spending lots of time in the room.

Location was perfect. Great choice of items for breakfast and perfectly cooked. Staff were pleasant. Room itself was clean, tidy and clutter free. Heating was easy to use. Clean towels everyday and room refreshments (tea and coffee) replenished daily.

Toilet in ensuite was dirty on arrival. Window was draughty. Extractor fan didn't work in the ensuite, neither did the shaver socket. Shower door could have done with a seal on the bottom to prevent water escaping onto the floor. No complimentary biscuits to go with the tea and coffee.

The location is perfect, I wasn't driving, but the location was in a walkable distance from where the National Express dropped me off. The high street and plenty shops, eating places, sightseeing all within walkable distance, no sweat at all. Parking is available if you are driving. You will need to inform them prior. They have a varied breakfast menu, mini fridge in the room, at least my one had, tea coffee facilities, iron and ironing board. The best one for me was the price was pocket friendly.

My preference would have been a sturdy, firm mattress. However, I still enjoyed a good night's rest

I had a really nice stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Wakefield. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made me feel comfortable right away. The hotel itself was clean and well-maintained, and my room was spotless and tidy. The stay was comfortable overall, and I was very happy with the experience.

The telephone was missing in my room, and although there was an ironing board, there was no iron. Parking was also an issue — staff didn’t have accurate information about street parking, and guests risked getting tickets.

It was more luxurious than I needed, really. Friendly personnel, clean bathroom, good bed, breakfast was good but could use a few more items. Walking distance to railway stations (10 minutes to Westgate, 15 to Kirkgate).

In the weekend, you need to reserve a time slot for breakfast, and they asked this at check-in time; it would have been nice if this had been communicated in advance since I arrived late and was tired, but now had to look up and calculate my schedule for the next day on the spot (instead of doing that leisurely in my room). Luckily, they were quite flexible about this. Some minor things: on the second day, the room was not cleaned up; maybe this was supposed to happen but I didn't know. The walking space between the chairs in the breakfast room was very small.

From walking in the door to leaving, the staff were very friendly and very helpful to suit our needs, breakfast was great, lots to choose from and I noticed that they had a paper bag, so if you wanted to, you could grab something to eat later.

The only thing I would say is the double bed does make you roll into the middle, I have a queen sized bed at home, and my husband and I have different postcodes when in our bed!!! So to be laying on each other, could be a good thing or as I'm like a hot water bottle we were very hot! It's not a complaint it's just something we're not used too. Also the sat nav from the actual website took us to a building one road before the holiday inn, so we did have to drive around to find hotel, and we did have 3 different sat navs going and they all said the same!

Reception staff in arrival friendly,.welcoming and efficient. Room spacious, clean and modern Bathroom modern if a little worn (shower screen fitting Reception staff served us drinks later in the evening the bar was basic but decent prices and night staff were just as friendly and helpful as those when we arrived Breakfast included free was of a decent quality with plenty of choice

The hotel is centrally located in Wakefield so walking distance from the train station and the city centre. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and have everything you need for your stay. Tea and coffee provided in the room. The breakfast had a nice selection of food. The main highlight was the staff, they went above and beyond to answer any questions and help us out. And they were very friendly, they made the stay fantastic, so thank you to all the staff.

Nothing really jumped out as being bad, its a basic hotel but that's not a negative, its what we paid for, had a lovely stay.

Staff are always welcoming and friendly, had a nice room with a great view over the city. Breakfast was lovely, self serve continental and hot breakfast available. Coffee was also quite nice, considering it was a machine.

Only issue I had was with other guests, one person was either smoking on my floor or had just gone for a cigarette but it stank. Also a guest had opened their bedroom door and was allowing their toddler to run up and down the hallway at 7am. Not the hotels fault but it did impact the quality of my stay.
