It's like an oasis of lush green palm trees with a 50m swimming pool smack bang in the middle of the city with a jazz club, 4 restaurants and lots of really beautiful Ethiopian staff. It feels like stepping back in time. If you are looking for a luxurious room, then this isn't for you but I absolutely loved it.

We booked a room shown on the website which I found but there had been someone living in it. Probably needs a chat with the hotel but it was such an absolute joy, I didn't care at all.

I have been using this hotel's facilities since the 90s, when I lived in Addis Ababa. Its unique selling point is its magnificent, quiet, beautiful grounds complete with swimming pool. It is an oasis in a city that is often noisy, dirty, polluted and unforgiving. It reflects local life. The staff are so polite and kind. The tukel restaurant serves great, traditional food and the main restaurant's breakfasts are fab The rooms are spacious. There is hot water shower You will feel safe here. It is easy to get taxis There is a really good cafe and supermarket at the end of the drive, too

When I arrived I had to explain that I wanted a room in the main building. I was shown 2 rooms before the third one, which fitted the description on the booking site

Staff approach is exelent, they are friendly.

It is a big Hotel, too many areas need to be upgraded/ manteinance. Rooms provides a certain level of confort and they are very safe. However there is scope to improve in term of hygiene, bathrooms conditions( heaters, broken windows, decoration , room light system etc.

The location, quietness, natural environment and freshness

Some touchs need to be done. The facility was built some time back and need a fresh touch. Most workers especially in service department are advanced in age and need support from young fresh blood.

The staff and location were excellent. Breakfast was delicious. The gardens were beautiful and well kept and there is an excellent jazz club attached to the hotel. There was a vintage/retro feel to the complex with great security and an African feel to the restaurant…

If the amazing pool had been heated I would have used it more…

Breakfast was very good different from the state I like it very much ! People were polite and curtious except the guests who was there !

Better warm water for shower ! Maybe I am excepecting too much!

Excellent old governmental hotel in the middle of everything. Simple but clean and spacious standard.

A oasis in the middle of the noise! Green area, friendly staff and very safe place, very well located, close to market, laundry, banks and city center.
