The room was very clean, bed was new and very comfortable, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the breakfast was good, the price was excellent although I suspect that will increase once Marriot completes the change over.

At 3:21 am on Sept 29 someone tried to break into our room. The activity at the door woke me up. Somehow this person managed to get our electronic door lock to open and they would have gained access to our room (406) had it not been for the L shaped internal lock mechanism that I had engaged on the door. This ruined my night as the event was upsetting. I remained awake for the rest of the night thinking the intruder might return. We reported the event to the staff in the morning. Hopefully, the security cameras in the hallway captured the event.

Clean beautiful rooms

That I was not informed about needing a credit for a deposit, I didn't have one and am lucky my partner did. Or we would not have been allowed to stay. I asked if I can pay the 200 by debit instead but the staff made it clear the only way was a credit card. Now I understand on some sense that it's a security reasons but there are good people out here who do not have credit cards for also good reasons. It just sucks that there was a chance that we would have been turned away when we had nowhere else to go that night. I feel like there should be an alternative if a person does not have a credit card.

It's under construction and being renamed. So here it's listed as Newmarket Hotel, but when you arrive its actually named Fairmont. The front desk staff was very friendly. The room was clean and nice, beds comfortable. But there was no coffee cups, just the flimsy plastic cups that you can't put hot liquid in. I didn't eat free breakfast, but took a look to see what was there. It was pretty basic..although no bacon, just sausage, beans and scrambled eggs for hot food and then typical kind of over ripe bananas, apples, yogurt and muffins and toast. Overall it was a nice hotel and I could see that once the construction is done and fully converted over to the new name it will be a nice hotel. Right now it's just missing the little extra details, like the coffee cups, milk in rooms...and of course bacon!! 😁

The rooms were wonderful. Modern Enjoyed

No real hot water...even turning up wasn't real hot. Disappointed that no one really attends to non-working elevators. I had to walk down 4 floors carrying my luggage ( it was difficult). Each time I called the front desk ...it seemed they weren't concerned after 20 mins. I decided to walk down the stairs. I mentioned it to the front desk and they hardly have a response. I respect that they are renovating but no I felt there was no consideration.

The staff were lovely

The housekeeping was hit and miss. I feel bad for even mentioning it. But they said there was daily housekeeping. One day no towels, one day no coffee, one day no toilet paper, one day they threw the covers over in the bed but didn't make it. First world problems I know, but you asked.

Location, easy to find, lots of free parking, newly renovated large modern room with warm Breakfast

The place is under renovation and you drive up to the front of the hotel it looks like an abandoned building with exposed steel beams and broken windows. A sign instructs you to drive around to back. You enter and you’re in a re instruction zone. Receptionist was a bit offish. She didn’t say they held a $250 + full room charge in my Credit card and didn’t actually quote the correct total room charge with tax included. I learned about the $381 CC charge the next day. The room was however newly renovated as was the entire 4th floor. Good breakfast despite a shoebox sized eating room (again under reconstruction). In the end it was good value but clients should be made aware that the place is u set construction.

The room was very good with soft beds which we like. Toilet was too low for my wife and hard to get up from with her arthritic knees. The staff was very very helpful and the breakfast was very good.

Hotel was under renovation but the floor we were on was complete and very nice. The clerk explained to me what was taking place in the hotel. It was a little struggle to get my wife's wheelchair in at the time, but should be much better in the future.

Great shower head. Loved the spacious and bright stairwells. A little weird to only get a plastic bag for ice, no bucket. Next time I will bring my bathing suit to make use of the nice pool..

The breakfast. It was plentiful but tasteless. Eggs, no taste, the sausage was barely cooked, chicken patty ??.

Lovely/Modern/Quiet

Some issues with our room being semi cleaned. Some confusion. Things were not replenished(towels/cups/shampoo) Would be helpful to have some dishes/cutlery etc in the suites. We had no way to warm up our food. And only had paper cups.

The location was convenient for our trip. The king size bed & bedding was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and it satisfied our needs. My husband got his eggs & bacon and I had oatmeal, yogurt & fruit. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nothing to not like, but there is still construction going on inside. It should be very nice when done.
