We liked how the Hotel was directly connected to Sunshine City Mall which also led to a pathway to Higashi Ikebukuro train station! This made it very convenient for us to shop and catch the train without needing to go outside. There was also a 24 hour convenience store behind the lobby of the hotel which made it easy to buy essentials and snacks!

It was great in general, our room was just a bit small but other than that, everything was really good!

Room was relatively big for Japanese standards - we did pay a slight premium for the larger/higher floor room compared to other double rooms in the hotel. There was a little sofa and enough space around it to open our 2 big luggage bags. Great city view as well. Very clean bathroom and room. I love shopping at Sunshine City so for me the location was perfect - hotel is connected to the mall on most levels. From the mall there is a semi-sheltered walkway to Higashi-Ikebukuro station (about 10mins) and similar distance (although outdoors) to the JR Ikebukuro station. The airport buses to Narita stop at this hotel. Great room size and location relative to hotels around other major tourist spots like Shibuya/Shinjuku. There is a large FamilyMart in the hotel ground floor as well!

Relatively expensive for the area, but I felt it was worth the convenience. Front desk gets quite busy as there are often conferences in the hotel and subculture events going in the mall, with lots of local and foreign attendees.

The view is very nice and the windows are very clean!

Sometimes when returning to the hotel in the evening TOO MANY TOURISTS crowding around the elevator area making it difficult to get onto the elevator.

Right at sunshine city 60 so can enjoy all the attractions and convience it has to offer. 5 minutes walking distance to most subways. We ordered a lot of goods from amazon and reception area was helpful. It stores the luggages for us on the last day and the shuttle bus to HND airport stops right in front of the hotel ( which they can book it for you or you can book it online).

Room is a bit small. We had two single beds which is layout vertically. Didnt leave much room for large luggages although the bathroom is a reasonable size and the tub.

Location: Conveniently located inside the Sunshine City mall, it has direct access to the mall. Great in the winter because you can go shopping without a jacket, and drop off all the goods back into the hotel. There is also a 24h Family Mart in the ground level of the hotel. There is a supermarket across from the hotel, with lots of food and entertainment options around. Customer Service: Staff are very professional and provides excellent service. They also speak English well.

Small Room: Just like all other Japanese hotels, the rooms are quite small. Price: It is quite pricy, at $235/night for 2 people. But hey, you pay for the convenience.

The location with direct access to the Sunshine City mall was great for shopping.

When arriving there was a machine for automatic check in like in many hotels have nowadays, however the machine took a long time (several minutes) to check and confirm the booking - I thought it was broken as it was stuck on a screen, but there were no staff around near the machines to help, at least at the time we were checking in. There is a reception desk but it's behind the machines as you walk in from the street but I'd recommend checking in there rather than the machines.

The room was large. We had a double and moved the beds together and had plenty of room. The beds were comfortable, and the pillows were nice and firm. There was plenty of amenities and the shopping center it is attached to is amazing. Having a Lawsons in the hotel was a game-changer and made it easier to get a mid-night snack. They held luggage easily and answered any question we had. Our view was amazing!

It was a bit further away from the station and to get there slightly quicker you had to exit through the shopping center. The colour scheme of the carpet and walls made the place seem dirtier and more dated than it was. The elevators were very busy as people would press both types so it would randomly stop at certain floors.

This is my go-to hotel over the last few years whenever I visit Tokyo. I rather like the Ikebukuro area and the hotel is conveniently located next to Sunshine City Mall and other adjacent shopping arcades. There’s tons of shopping, restaurants and anime and character stores nearby. Walking distance to the subway station as well. Hotel room is bigger than most Japanese hotels. Staff are friendly and you can catch the airport limousine just outside the hotel which is I always use for transportation to and from the airport.

As this is an older hotel, I do find there could be possible upgrades with air conditioning. This time and the last time (in 2023) I stayed at this hotel, the room was quite warm. Both times, I contacted front desk and they brought up a fan which did address the concern with the room being too warm.

4 adults and we stayed in the family quad room. we had a separate living room area so we had plenty of space. beds were comfortable, air con was good (August stay) elevators quick. all amenities provided tea coffee, shower gels shampoo, good hairdryer for long hair. good location to shops in mall. convenience store onsite.

Very hot in August and the walk to the train station was uncomfortable given the heat and humidity. However it would not put me off staying here again. we had brought a good set of earplugs each as we were sharing a space. glad we did as there was music each night from street below. it was usually over by 11 so just something to consider if you are early to bed and early to rise.

Loved the location, the mall is a great plus and the room is comfortable. With amenities like in-house coin laundry and vending machines, it was very convenient. There's also a convenience store and is near the bus terminal. Staff tried their best to address queries with English and could also understand my limited Japanese. Check out was a breeze. We got the room with the twin beds placed head to head which was a unique layout but this freed up space for packing luggage.

Didn't like the central air, even though adjustable with a dial (low med high) it was a little difficult to notice any difference in air flow in the room. Eco cleaning option was also a little difficult to understand because we weren't sure if we should accumulate our trash in the room or leave it outside the door (which would be unsightly)
