Staff were very friendly upon arrival and also at breakfast. The room was clean and the bathroom was a good size. The spa facilities were excellent - full suite of what you would expect: sauna, steam room, large jacuzzi, pool and plenty of loungers. The quality of breakfast was to a high standard with a strong variety of cereals, fruits, hot plate and croissants. I didn't try the bar/lounge area but was told they provided similar meals to the restaurant with a more relaxed bar setting. It looked very welcoming - there was a TV showing sports and I would have tried if I hadn't of been going elsewhere into town. All in all I felt the experience was impressive for the price.

My biggest issue was the £50 deposit the staff informed me about on arrival (for damages, but can also be used to spend in the hotel bar/restaurant). I really don't see a need for this - most other hotels of this standard do not require it. I had to spend time at check out getting it back onto my card. I felt sorry for the staff member attempting to justify it to me ("you can spend this behind the bar tonight haha" - despite it being my money of course.) The spa area was very warm, I was sweating without having to go into the sauna. However other than this the area was to a very high standard. The gym had good facilities although not much space. If you can remove the need for a £50 deposit upon arrival, I would have hardly any negative points!

Air conditioning throughout the hotel on the hottest weekend of the year was a godsend! Beds are like sleeping on big puffy marshmallows. The toiletries supplied are actually lovely and not like prison shampoo 😅 never usually get conditioner in other hotels so that's a big bonus when you don't need to drag half your bathroom cabinet away with you. As we stayed for 2 nights we waited until check out time to go down to the pool on the first day and had the whole place to ourselves for an hour which was great. And so much selection at breakfast. All the hot food just keeps on coming and is always cooked well. Dining room was so busy on the second day but we weren't kept waiting for seating and there was still plenty available.

Just happened to be that 2 very big functions were on that weekend so we didn't get to go have a couple of drinks out by the pond but that really wasn't a big deal. Plenty of seating out front near the bar and pool but that bar was being used for a function on the first night. Staff were still all great and very helpful.

So I stayed here because I have done so many times and loved it, this time I was dumped in a far cheaper room (for the price of a deluxe) there was one teabag, one milk and 1 biscuit. The pool was cloudy and weird, I swim Daily and could not swim in this pool like the water was thicker or something? It was weird. I felt really sorry for the members of this pool who pay £86!!!! A month and have kids jumping on their heads, why isn’t a part of the pool cordoned off for members? I’d be livid if this was my pool At that price. The breakfast is as nice but all Packaged food, even powdered eggs! And £18!!! You could have a feast at a local cafe for that!

Quiet location, the room was lovely and the leisure facilities were amazing. The breakfast was good and most of the staff very friendly. Room service was brilliant.

The bedroom floor had some dirt/stains and inside the bedside draw was dirty which let down a great room. The dining experience in the evening was terrible. Left waiting for 2 drinks (not cocktails) for 30 minutes! And that was only after we reminded them. The dining room had nobody else waiting for drinks as it was quiet, so this was disappointing. Food was ok, not great and there was a staff member who had no idea what they were doing. When checking out the staff member didn’t seem to care about us and didn’t ask how our stay was which was completely different to the gentleman who checked us in and was truly lovely.

The staff were all incredibly friendly, the room was comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Great location just off the A1. The pool was clean and warm and the spa setting very pleasant indeed. We appreciated the 12:00 check out time which allowed us plenty of time to swim and relax in the morning.

Unfortunately the breakfast wasn’t great. The hot buffet wasn’t out due to low occupancy numbers which wasn’t a problem at all as we could just order what we’d like however none of us could eat the eggs, the sausages were dry and chewy and the mushrooms were clearly tinned and tasteless. Also I treated myself to a glass of wine the night before that cost nearly £14 for a large glass which seemed excessive!

i struggled to sleep on those single beds surely twin 4' beds would be better? theres room if the very old large furniture was updated who needs all those drawers on a hotel visit??? Needs a grab bar to get into bath for shower. Theres still a fume type smell comes thru the air con vent smelt on 2nd day. Very disturbed by noisy guests in adjoining room at 12.30 am til 1pm when night porter sorted it. there was no guest book to find to get help. needs soft close toilet seat and a grap rail to assist as they are quite low.

The thing that makes this a stand out hotel for me is the exceptional service from the whole team, Sinead, Tony (maintenance) Pradeep and Sydney especially made me feel at home and like one of the family. I have a hip injury which has caused me months of discomfort and they have done everything possible to make me comfortable, accommodated requests for specific rooms, let me put my cool packs int he freezer, sorted out the A/C for me - and very sweetly gave me a complimentary drink when the A/C wasn't working as well as it could have. I use this hotel when working in the area and always look forward to it because of the team and the comfort of the rooms with baths in every one of them and really comfy beds.

Hotel very clean and rooms are particularly spacious, with nice view overlooking the lawns. Bed was extremely comfortable. Staff very welcoming and helpful. The gym has a good selection of machines and hand weights and swimming pool good size.

Would have liked more choice at Breakfast, but overall quite good. I was able to order alternative (poached) eggs. Not a great selection for non-meat eaters and/or glutton free. Drinking water fountain in the lobby is a great addition.

The breakfast was very good. Great variety and the cooked breakfast although buffet style was all piping hot and cooked just right. Equally there was a good evening choice of menu and the meals were a good portion size. The staff on the front desk and in the restaurant were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant staff were polite and kept the restaurant area very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom exceptionally clean. We book this hotel every year and this year we noticed a much improved quality of service, cleanliness and happy staff.
