I was particularly impressed by the staff who were all very helpful, knowledgeable and always pleasantly upbeat. The food was excellent with regards to both quality and portion size and the wine menu was comprehensive and well described without being overpowering. The bathroom, though very small, was nicely furnished and the hot water was instant both in the shower and basin.

As a traditional bitter (now called amber ale) drinker I was disappointed that all four draught real ales on offer were all pale ales though it was appreciated that there were four to choose from and I believe there that these are frequently changed so I was just unlucky. My room was rather small and lacking in storage space for clothes (ie.no drawers) and the heating radiator was somewhat temperamental.

Delicious breakfast and all food and drinks were fantastic - stayed for 2 nights with family whilst visiting a friend’s christening. The team at the White Hart were very friendly and we had a very relaxed and comfortable stay which was especially valued by my sister and partner with a 6 month baby. All food was delicious - highly recommend to make reservations as the pub restaurant is very popular and gets booked out. We managed to squeeze in for Sunday lunch before leaving which was very kind of the team and great food. Very comfortable beds

Nothing not to like! only comment would be our room condition is just shy of 4*, very comfortable but could do with a repaint and a little cold due to the original building windows, but staff were very conscious in getting the heating going on the first day we arrived and the building is a charming old farmhouse so to be expected. (My parents room was newer and very nice). Certainly would stay again

Well furnished property in a lovely setting. Restaurant and bar area comfortable, visually appealing decor. Friendly, helpful and informative staff members. Tea or coffee served on arrival, nice touch and appreciated. We were in bedroom 4 which was very nice. En-suite with bath. Very clean. Roomy, comfortable and we slept well. Great breakfast of cereals and hot items, plenty of choice and was nice and hot. We enjoyed our stay.

Bedroom on arrival was a bit cold and we couldn’t turn on the heating. However it did come on later in the evening and was fine as it was controllable by the thermostat on the radiator. Blind on skylight needs replacing as wasn’t working as it should. A tray on the table for the tea and coffee facilities would be useful to save any potential spillages.

We had a wonderful experience at The White Hart — an absolutely lovely and pastoral place, with a high standard of hospitality. Both the accommodation and the food were excellent, everything felt so genuinely and delightfully English — in the best possible way. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant, the surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful, and there’s a certain gentle breeze in the air that makes it all even more enjoyable. The team was warm, welcoming, and attentive — just lovely people all around. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, elegant countryside stay

We arrived later in the evening having already eaten, but having seen the delicious looking food as we walked through to Reception, we were sorry not to have eaten there. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and after we had booked into our room, we had a quick drink in the bar. The room was small but comfortable and our only quibble was that there was a small pane of glass in the door which let in light. Our breakfast was excellent. I am coeliac, but was able to have a full English breakfast cooked with local ingredients. This pub is only about 3 miles from the A1 and we will certainly stay again if we are in the area.

Great location, excellent staff, delicious and great value dinner, lovely breakfast. The chap who served us dinner was great, in fact all the staff were.

The room was spacious and clean BUT it had a tiny window the size of a postbox set very low down, so the room was very dark and rather airless. It was DESPERATE for a velux or a dormer window and were I to return I’d insist on not having that room. A no no. It’s room 3 if it comes your way. Just say no. The bar staff were a little off the pace so unless you were assertive they would bimble about and avoid eye contact, so we stood at the reception desk for a good ten minutes before anyone checked us in ( I had to ask the bar staff to help out ) but they were the only issues. 1. Fix that room. 2. Get on the pace. Otherwise it’s great .

Lovely accommodation, some areas such as the soap holders which needed replacement or focussed cleaning eg corners of shower screen. Very small items but just for feedback.

When we arrived we waited in the reception area and were offered complimentary coffeee or tea which was very nice. However we sat opposite a couple who were eating and the male continued to use profane language , very audibly and rudely, without consideration to other guests like us who were seated close by. He use the f word in nearly every sentence. My issue was that he wasn’t challenged by the staff, several were on reception and they were sitting at a table for two. We were only seated for about 15 mins, we considered eating in the restaurant and this influenced our decision not to. Something to pick up in staff training maybe? This experience won’t stop us returning- I’m giving this more as a means to improve.

We were visiting family near by so the location was perfect! Its a beautiful pub in a beautiful village but also close to Stamford if you wanted to venture further. We stayed in one of the outside rooms which suited us - lovely decor, comfy bed and the choice of a bath or shower so suited us both. There was a choice of breakfasts all beautifully presented (and tasty) and nothing was too much trouble. We joined in the Easter egg hunt and had Sunday lunch in the pub (dogs understandably not allowed in the restaurant) which again was delicious. Our go to place when visiting family in the future!

Nice inside the hotel. Comfortable and warm. Evening meals nice and plentiful. Breakfast nice but no toast and smaller selections. Bed Comfortable and nice shower.

Outside annexe room is nice but on arrival was freezing. No heating and had to wait for radiator to come on and then a while for room to warm up. I have pysiactic arthritis and cold affects me. Evening meal nice and plentiful but breakfast was not up to standard we have had befor. We have been to this hotel about 5 times and no complaints befor. Will use again but probably not when cold.

We stayed in Room 6 which was lovely and clean, very nicely decorated and super quiet so you get a good night's sleep. Parking was right outside the door. Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you, restaurant was lovely, food was wonderful. The bar makes really good cocktails. Grounds, gardens and common areas are all beautiful. This is a hotel that tries really hard to make you happy. Recommend wholeheartedly 100%. Five star service and a great location for Burghley House and Stamford.
